Stroke is classified as ischemic or hemorrhagic,and there are few effective treatments for either *** mechanisms play a critical role in secondary brain injury following a stroke,which manifests as cytokine release,blood–brain barrier disruption,neuronal cell death,and ultimately behavioral *** the inflammatory response has been shown to mitigate this cascade of events in experimental stroke ***,in clinical trials of anti-inflammatory agents,longterm immunosuppression has not demonstrated significant clinical benefits for *** may be attributable to the dichotomous roles of inflammation in both tissue injury and repair,as well as the complex pathophysiologic inflammatory processes in *** acute harmful inflammatory responses or inducing a phenotypic shift from a pro-inflammatory to an anti-inflammatory state at specific time points after a stroke are alternative and promising therapeutic *** agents that can modulate inflammation requires a detailed understanding of the inflammatory processes of ***,epigenetic reprogramming plays a crucial role in modulating post-stroke inflammation and can potentially be exploited for stroke *** this review,we summarize current findings on the epigenetic regulation of the inflammatory response in stroke,focusing on key signaling pathways including nuclear factor-kappa B,Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription,and mitogen-activated protein kinase as well as inflammasome *** also discuss promising molecular targets for stroke *** evidence to date indicates that therapeutic targeting of the epigenetic regulation of inflammation can shift the balance from inflammation-induced tissue injury to repair following stroke,leading to improved post-stroke outcomes.

Carbon-supported CeNCl as an efficient catalyst for CO_(2)cycloaddition

The cycloaddition reaction of CO_(2)with epoxide not only effectively reduces the concentration of CO_(2)in the atmosphere,but also has excellent industrial application value and up to 100%atom utilization,but there are difficulties in separation and recovery of traditional homogeneous catalysts,harsh reaction conditions of traditional heterogeneous catalysts,and activation of CO_(2)*** this paper,an easily synthesized heterogeneous catalyst CeNCl/C was used to catalyze the cycloaddition reaction of CO_(2)with styrene oxide,with a high yield of 92.7%,a high selectivity of 96.7%,a turnover numbers(TON)value of 349,and a good stability demonstrated in six cycle tests(equivalent to 216 h of testing).Through comprehensive studies,it was shown that CeNCl/C contains Lewis acid-base centers as active centers,which can effectively reduce the energy barrier required for ring opening of the reaction substrate,enhance the adsorption and activation of CO_(2),and promote the formation of intermediates,which led to the acquisition of excellent catalytic activity.

Genome-wide analysis reveals selection for Chinese Rongchang pigs

Livestock have undergone domestication and consequently strong selective pressure on genes or genomic regions that control desirable traits. To identify selection signatures in the genome of Chinese Rongchang pigs, we generated a total of about 170 Gb of DNA sequence data with about 6.4-fold coverage for each of six female individuals. By combining these data with the publically available genome data of 10 Asian wild boars,we identified 449 protein-coding genes with selection signatures in Rongchang pigs, which are mainly involved in growth and hormone binding, nervous system development, and drug metabolism. The accelerated evolution of these genes may contribute to the dramatic phenotypic differences between Rongchang pigs and Chinese wild boars. This study illustrated how domestication and subsequent artificial selection have shaped patterns of genetic variation in Rongchang pigs and provides valuable genetic resources that can enhance the use of pigs in agricultural production and biomedical studies.

Effects of Mowing Stubbles and Mowing Stages on Nutrient Contents of Forage Mulberry

[Objective]The paper was to study the effects of mowing on nutrients of forage mulberry.[Method]With forage mulberry as the research object,the effects of mowing stubbles and mowing stages on nutrient content of forage mulberry were studied.[Result]With the increase of mowing frequency,the crude protein and crude ash content of forage mulberry decreased,but the crude fiber content increased,and the quality of forage mulberry decreased *** crude protein content decreased most obviously from 25.78%in the first stubble to 21.63%in the third *** the first and third stubble,the nutrients at 28±1 d after the last mowing were higher than that at 38±1 d after the last *** is,with the growth of forage mulberry,the accumulated nutrients were also used for their own growth.[Conclusion]From the perspective of nutrient content,the forage mulberry mowed earlier has higher nutritional value and better palatability.

This study was conducted to investigate host-microbiota interactions and explore the effects of maternal gut microbiota transplantation on the growth and intestinal functions of newborns in a germ-free(GF)pig *** hysterectomy-derived GF Bama piglets were reared in 6 sterile *** them,6 were considered as the GF group,and the other 6 were orally inoculated with healthy sow fecal suspension as fecal microbiota transplanted(FMT)*** 6 piglets from natural birth were regarded as the conventional(CV)*** GF and FMT groups were hand-fed with Co60-y-irradiated sterile milk powder,while the CV group was reared by lactating Bama *** groups were fed for 21 ***,all piglets and then were switched to sterile feed for another 21 *** showed that the growth performance,nutrient digestibility,and concentrations of short-chain fatty acids in the GF group decreased(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the serum urea nitrogen concentration and digesta pH values in the GF group increased compared with those in the FMT and CV groups(P<0.05).Compared with the CV group,the GF group demonstrated upregulation in the mRNA expression levels of intestinal barrier function-related genes in the small intestine(P<0.05).In addition,the mRNA abundances of intestinal development and absorption-related genes in the small intestine and colon were higher in the GF group than in the CV and FMT groups(P<0.05).The FMT group exhibited greater growth performance,lipase activity,and nutrient digestibility(P<0.05),higher mRNA expression levels of intestinal development and barrier-related genes in the small intestine(P<0.05),and lower mRNA abundances of pro-inflammatory factor in the colon and jejunum(P<0.05)than the CV *** conclusion,the absence of gut microbes impaired the growth and nutrient digestibility,and healthy sow gut microbiota transplantation increased the growth and nutrient digestibility and improved the intestinal development and barrier function of newbor

The ring current, one of the most important current systems around the Earth, intensifies during geomagnetic storms and is believed to be the main reason for large-scale magnetic field perturbations in the geospace environment. Understanding how the ring current builds up and evolves during geomagnetic storms is of great importance not only for advancing the knowledge of the Sun-Earth system but also for improving the modeling capability of predicting hazardous space weather events. Focusing on the national strategic needs in the space weather prediction, in this study, we establish a ring current model named storm time ring current model(STRIM). The STRIM comprehensively embraces key physical processes in association with ring current dynamics,including plasma source injections from the nightside plasmasheet and transport around the Earth, charge-exchange with neutral hydrogens, Coulomb collisions with thermal plasma, wave-particle interactions, field line curvature scattering, and precipitation loss down to the upper atmosphere. The electric fields needed for particle motion can be optionally taken from empirical models or self-consistently calculated, while the magnetic field configuration is obtained from Tsyganenko 2005 model. Simulation results are verified against the published literature and validated with in-situ satellite or ground-based observations and are found to have the same high-level capability and fidelity as other well-known published models. We also discuss future tasks of fostering the model's performance and potential applications.

In the present work, the blend of poly（butylene succinate）（PBS） and bisphenol A （BPA） was prepared by solution mixing, and the intermolecular interactions between the two components were characterized by a combination of nuclear magnetic resonance （NMR） and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）. The results showed that intermolecular hydrogen-bonding forms between the carbonyl group of PBS and phenol hydroxyl of BPA. With the increase of BPA content, more hydrogen bonds were formed. The effect of hydrogen bonding on the crystallization behavior of PBS was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry （DSC） and polarized optical microscopy （POM）. The results showed that the overall isothermal crystallization kinetics and the spherulite growth rate of PBS decrease with the increase of BPA content, while the PBS spherulite size increases with BPA content.

Background:Previous studies have shown that exogenous short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)introduction attenuated the body fat deposition in conventional mice and ***,limited studies have evaluated the effects of exogenously introduced SCFAs on the lipid and glucose metabolism independently of the gut *** study was to investigate the effects of exogenous introduction of SCFAs on the lipid and glucose metabolism in a germ-free(GF)pig ***:Twelve hysterectomy-derived newborn pigs were reared in six sterile *** pigs were hand-fed with sterile milk powder for 21 d,then the sterile feed was introduced to pigs for another 21 *** the second 21-d period,six pigs were orally administrated with 25 mL/kg sterile saline per day and considered as the GF group,while the other six pigs were orally administrated with 25 mL/kg SCFAs mixture(acetic,propionic,and butyric acids,45,15,and 11 mmol/L,respectively)per day and regarded as FA ***:Orally administrated with SCFAs tended to increase the adiponectin concentration in serum,enhance the CPT-1 activity in longissimus dorsi,and upregulate the ANGPTL4 mRNA expression level in colon(P<0.10).Meanwhile,the mRNA abundances of ACC,FAS,and SREBP-1C in liver and CD36 in longissimus dorsi of the FA group were decreased(P<0.05)compared with those in the GF ***,the mRNA expression of PGC-1αin liver and LPL in longissimus dorsi tended to(P<0.10)upregulate and downregulate respectively in the FA ***,oral administration of SCFAs tended to increase the protein level of GPR43(P<0.10)and decrease the protein level of ACC(P<0.10)in ***,oral administration of SCFAs upregulated the p-AMPK/AMPK ratio and the mRNA expressions of GLUT-2 and GYS2 in liver(P<0.05).In addition,the metabolic pathway associated with the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids was most significantly promoted(P<0.05)by oral administration of ***:Exogenous introduction of SCFAs might attenuate t
