Activating transitions between internal states of physical systems has emerged as an appealing approach to create lattices and complex *** such a scheme,the internal states or modes of a physical system are regarded as lattice sites or network nodes in an abstract space whose dimensionality may exceed the systems’apparent(geometric)*** introduces the notion of synthetic dimensions,thus providing entirely novel pathways for fundamental research and ***,we analytically show that the propagation of multiphoton states through multiport waveguide arrays gives rise to synthetic dimensions where a single waveguide system generates a multitude of synthetic *** these synthetic lattices exist in photon-number space,we introduce the concept of pseudo-energy and demonstrate its utility for studying multiphoton interference ***,the spectrum of the associated pseudo-energy operator generates a unique ordering of the relevant *** with generalized pseudo-energy ladder operators,this allows for representing the dynamics of multiphoton states by way of pseudo-energy term diagrams that are associated with a synthetic *** a result,the pseudo-energy representation leads to concise analytical expressions for the eigensystem of N photons propagating through M nearest-neighbor coupled *** the regime where N≥2 and M≥3,nonlocal coupling in Fock space gives rise to hitherto unknown all-optical dark states that display intriguing nontrivial dynamics.

Color centers in diamond—especially group Ⅳ defects—have been advanced as a viable solidstate platform for quantum photonics and information technologies. We investigate the photodynamics and characteristics of germanium-vacancy(GeV) centers hosted in high-pressure high-temperature diamond nanocrystals. Through back-focal plane imaging, we analyze the far-field radiation pattern of the investigated emitters and derive a crossed-dipole emission, which is strongly aligned along one axis. We use this information in combination with lifetime measurements to extract the decay rate statistics of the GeV emitters and determine their quantum efficiency, which we estimated to be ～(22 ± 2)%. Our results offer further insight into the photodynamic properties of the GeV center in nanodiamonds and confirm its suitability as a desirable system for quantum technologies.

Basal cisternostomy for traumatic brain injury: A case report of unexpected good recovery

In subarachnoid hemorrhage following traumatic brain injury (TBI), the high intracisternal pressure drives the cerebrospinal fluid into the brain parenchyma, causing cerebral edema. Basal cisternostomy involves opening the basal cisterns to atmospheric pressure and draining cerebrospinal fluid in an attempt to reverse the edema. We describe a case of basal cisternostomy combined with decompressive craniectomy. A 35-year-old man with severe TBI following a road vehicle accident presented with acute subdural hematoma, Glasgow coma scale score of 6, fixed pupils and no corneal response. Opening of the basal cisterns and placement of a temporary cisternal drain led to immediate relaxation of the brain. The patient had a Glasgow coma scale score of 15 on postoperative day 6 and was discharged on day 10. We think basal cisternostomy is a feasible and effective procedure that should be considered in the management of TBI.

In this paper, linear errors-in-response models are considered in the presence of validation data on the responses. A semiparametric dimension reduction technique is employed to define an estimator of β with asymptotic normality, the estimated empirical loglikelihoods and the adjusted empirical loglikelihoods for the vector of regression coefficients and linear combinations of the regression coefficients, respectively. The estimated empirical log-likelihoods are shown to be asymptotically distributed as weighted sums of independent X 2 1 and the adjusted empirical loglikelihoods are proved to be asymptotically distributed as standard chi-squares, respectively.

Chlorophylls and carotenoids are essential photosynthetic *** spatiotemporally coordinate the needs of chlorophylls and carotenoids for optimal photosynthesis and fitness in response to diverse environmental and developmental ***,how the biosynthesis pathways of these two pigments are coordinated,particularly at posttranslational level to allow rapid control,remains largely ***,we report that the highly conserved ORANGE(OR)family proteins coordinate both pathways via posttranslationally mediating the first committed enzyme in each *** demonstrate that OR family proteins physically interact with magnesium chelatase subunit I(CHLI)in chlorophyll biosynthesis pathway in addition to phytoene synthase(PSY)in carotenoid biosynthesis pathway and concurrently stabilize CHLI and PSY *** show that loss of OR genes hinders both chlorophyll and carotenoid biosynthesis,limits light-harvesting complex assembly,and impairs thylakoid grana stacking in *** of OR safeguards photosynthetic pigment biosynthesis and enhances thermotolerance in both Arabidopsis and tomato *** findings establish a novel mechanism by which plants coordinate chlorophyll and carotenoid biosynthesis and provide a potential genetic target to generate climate-resilient crops.

A field experiment of 4 years＇ duration was carried out to evaluate the ef- ficacy of combining the mating disruption （MD） formulation Dismate ZETA （（9Z,12E）- tetradecadienyl acetate）, with the parasitoid Habrobracon hebetor against the Indianmeal moth Plodia interpunctella in a chocolate factory. The experimental period began early in 2011 and ended in late 2014. Begane Dismate dispensers were placed in the facility from 2011 to 2014 and H. hebetor was released in 2014. Pheromone-baited traps were used to monitor the flight activity of the male moths and oviposition Petri dish traps were placed to assess the progeny production ofP. interpunctella females. Following the start of MD, a decrease in the number ofP. interpunctella males caught in monitoring traps was observed from 2011 to 2013. A further decline in the moth population was noted in 2014, when MD was combined with the release of parasitoids. The presence of larvae in the oviposition cups was occasionally observed throughout the monitoring period, from 2011 to 2014. This study demonstrates that the combined system of MD and parasitoids is an effective and reliable technique that can be used to successfully control P. interpunctella.

为模拟真实的社会化场景,探究自我聚焦如何影响社交焦虑个体对外部社交反馈信息的注意与状态焦虑,采用演讲与自由观看任务,105名被试在实验室中面对屏幕进行即兴演讲,同时自由观看提前录制的包含12位听众的录像,听众分别表现出正性、中性和负性的反馈。研究中操纵被试的自我聚焦(高自我聚焦条件或低自我聚焦条件),采用眼动仪测量被试在演讲中对正性、中性和负性反馈的注意,并使用生理仪测量皮肤电和心率。结果显示,自我聚焦在整体上减少了高、低社交焦虑组对外部社交反馈信息的注意,高、低社交焦虑组的心率在高自我聚焦条件下均比低自我聚焦条件下快。研究结果表明,自我聚焦削弱了社交焦虑个体对外部刺激的注意加工。

Bone defects remain a major threat to human health and bone tissue regeneration has become a prominent clinical demand *** combination of microRNA(miRNA)therapy with 3D printed scaffolds has always posed a *** can mimic physiological bone healing processes,in which a biodegradable scaffold is gradually replaced by neo-tissue,and the sustained release of miRNA plays a vital role in creating an optimal osteogenic microenvironment,thus achieving promising bone repair ***,the balance between two key factors-scaffold degradation behavior and miRNA release profile-on osteogenesis and bone formation is still poorly ***,we construct a series of miRNA-activated hydrogel scaffolds(MAHSs)generated by 3D printing with different crosslinking degree to screened the interplay between scaffold degradation and miRNA release in the osteoinduction activity both in vitro and in *** MAHSs with a lower crosslinking degree(MAHS-0 and MAHS-0.25)released a higher amount of miR-29b in a sustained release profile,they degraded too fast to provide prolonged support for cell and tissue *** the contrary,although the slow degradation of MAHSs with a higher crosslinking degree(MAHS-1 and MAHS-2.5)led to insufficient release of miR-29b,their adaptable degradation rate endowed them with more efficient osteoinductive behavior over the long ***-1 gave the most well-matched degradation rate and miR-29b release characteristics and was identified as the preferred MAHSs for accelerated bone *** study suggests that the bio-adaptable balance between scaffold degradation behavior and bioactive factors release profile plays a critical role in bone *** findings will provide a valuable reference about designing miRNAs as well as other bioactive molecules activated scaffold for tissue regeneration.
