Iron oxide nanoparticle(IONP)with unique magnetic property and high biocompatibility have been widely used as magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)contrast agent(CA)for long ***,a review which comprehensively summarizes the recent development of IONP as traditional T_(2) CA and its new application for different modality of MRI,such as T_(1) imaging,simultaneous T_(2)/T_(1) or MRI/other imaging modality,and as environment responsive CA is *** review starts with an investigation of direction on the development of high-performance MRI CA in both T_(2) and T_(1) modal based on quantum mechanical outer sphere and Solomon-Bloembergen-Morgan(SBM)*** rational attempts to increase the MRI contrast of IONP by adjusting the key parameters,including magnetization,size,effective radius,inhomogeneity of surrounding generated magnetic field,crystal phase,coordination number of water,electronic relaxation time,and surface modification are *** the strategies to improve r2 or r1 values,strategies to increase the in vivo contrast efficiency of IONP have been reviewed from three different aspects,those are introducing second imaging modality to increase the imaging accuracy,endowing IONP with environment response capacity to elevate the signal difference between lesion and normal tissue,and optimizing the interface structure to improve the accumulation amount of IONP in *** detailed review provides a deep understanding of recent researches on the development of high-performance IONP based MRI *** is hoped to trigger deep thinking for design of next generation MRI CAs for early and accurate diagnosis.

Brain death （BD） is that someone＇s brain stops functioning, even though their heart may be kept beating using a machine. After brain function had ceased, somatic function being sustained by mechanical ventilation tbr a long time. Further treatment is inappropriate in a dead patient. Hence, in many countries, the law provides that treatment can be legitimately removed from a patient who was diagnosed BD and the donation of organs for transplantation can start.

Stroke is a cerebrovascular disease displaying high mortality and morbidity. Despite extensive efforts, only very few therapies are available for stroke patients as yet. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is thought to be a signalling molecule that is endogenously produced and plays functional roles in the central nervous system. Currently, numerous studies show that H2S impacts stroke outcomes in animal and cellular models. Here, we review the recent research regarding the effects of endogenously produced H2S as well as exogenous H2S donors on stroke pathology, focusing on the potential of H2S-based therapies in treating ischaemic stroke. We also discuss the several issues that hinder the clinical translation of H2S-based therapies from the bench. Taken together, we think that H2S-based therapies are promising strategies for treating cerebral ischaemia if we successfully address these issues.

Background Acute normovolemic hemodilution(ANH)was first introduced in glioblastoma surgery,and its role in reducing allogeneic blood transfusion was investigated in this *** This study enrolled supratentorial glioblastoma patients who received total *** the ANH group,the patients were required to draw blood before the operation,and the blood will be transfused back to the patient during the *** association between ANH and clinical features was *** Sixty supratentorial glioblastoma patients were enrolled in this study,25 patients were allocated in the ANH group,and another 35 patients were included in the control *** dramatically reduced the need for allogeneic blood transfusion(3[12%]vs 12[34.3%],P=0.049),and the blood transfusion per total of patients was dramatically decreased by the application of ANH(0.40±1.15 units vs 1.06±1.59 units,P=0.069).Furthermore,ANH also markedly reduced the requirement of fresh frozen plasma(FFP)transfusion(2[8%]vs 11[31.4%],P=0.030)and the volume of FFP transfusion per total of patients(32.00±114.46 mL vs 115.71±181.00 mL,P=0.033).The complication rate was similar between the two *** ANH was a safe and effective blood conservation technique in glioblastoma surgery.

Fluorescence imaging in the second near-infrared window(NIR-II,900–1880 nm)with less scattering background in biological tissues has been combined with the confocal microscopic system for achieving deep in vivo imaging with high spatial ***,the traditional NIR-IIfluorescence confocal microscope with separate excitation focus and detection pinhole makes it possess low confocal e±ciency,as well as di±cultly to *** types of upgraded NIR-IIfluorescence confocal microscopes,sharing the same pinhole by excitation and emission focus,leading to higher confocal e±ciency,are built in this *** type is-ber-pinhole-based confocal microscope applicable to CW laser *** is constructed forfluorescence intensity imaging with large depth,high stabilization and low cost,which could replace multiphotonfluorescence microscopy in some applications(e.g.,cerebrovascular and hepatocellular imaging).The other type is air-pinhole-based confocal microscope applicable to femtosecond(fs)laser *** can be employed not only for NIR-IIfluorescence intensity imaging,but also for multi-channelfluorescence lifetime imaging to recognize different structures with similarfluorescence ***,it can be facilely combined with multiphotonfluorescence microscopy.A single fs pulsed laser is utilized to achieve up-conversion(visible multiphotonfluorescence)and down-conversion(NIR-II one-photonfluorescence)excitation simultaneously,extending imaging spectral channels,and thus facilitates multi-structure and multi-functional observation.

Minor stroke and transient ischemic attack（TIA）are common disorders with a high rate of subsequent disabling stroke, so the early recognition and management of minor stroke and TIA is of great importance. At the moment, the diagnosis of these disorders is based on neurologic deficits in a stroke-clinician＇s examination of the patient, supplemented by the results of acute brain ***, high variability in TIA diagnosis has been reported between physicians, even trained vascular neurologists, and image-based diagnostic confirmation is not always readily available. Some patients still have ischemic events despite sustained standard secondary preventive therapy. Blood biomarkers are promising to aid in the diagnosis, risk stratification, and individual treatment of minor stroke and TIA. Some studies are being conducted in this field. This mini-review aims to highlight potential biomarkers for diagnosis and those helpful in predicting the risk of future stroke and the selection of treatment.
