Plasticizing Effect of Camellia oleifera Seed-Oil-Based Plasticizer on PVC Material Modification

In this study,as the plasticizer,Camellia oleifera seed-oil-based cyclohexyl ester(COSOCE)was prepared by the reaction of cyclohexene oxide and refined *** seed oil(RCOSO)obtained by acidification hydrolysis after *** addition,the structure of the target product was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectroscopy,and Raman *** was used as plasticizer-modified polyvinyl chloride(PVC)*** structure of the COSOCE-modified PVC membranes were characterized by Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The properties of the COSOCE-modified PVC membrane were characterized by contact angle measurements,universal testing machine,thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The results revealed that(1)The COSOCE-modified PVC membranes exhibit a good microscopic *** with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS)and contact angle measurement results,the COSOCE-modified PVC membranes are confirmed to be a hydrophilic material.(2)The modified PVC membrane with 60%COSOCE exhibited the best mechanical *** tensile strength reached 23.56±2.94 MPa.(3)COSOCE-modified PVC material exhibited better thermal stability,with a loss rate of less than 75%at the end of the first decomposition *** with that of the dioctyl-phthalate(DOP)-modified PVC membrane,the initial decomposition temperature of PVC was increased by 1.17°C–8.17°C,and the residual rate was increased by 0.67%–5.75%.The carbon–carbon double bond in the COSOCE molecular structure can remove the free radicals generated during the degradation of PVC material and slow down the decomposition rate of *** addition,the double bond can be cross-linked partially with the PVC molecular chain containing the conjugated polyene structure,thereby increasing the movement resistance of the PVC molecular chain ***,COSOCE can replace DOP as a PVC plasticiz

Red AIE conjugated polyelectrolytes for long-term tracing and image-guided photodynamic therapy of tumors

Robust photosensitizers with strong red/NIR fluorescence, efficient reactive oxygen species(ROS) generation and high photostability are highly desired for photodynamic therapy(PDT). Herein, three novel red conjugated polyelectrolytes(CPEs) with tetraphenylethene and 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole on the main chains and triphenylphosphonium on the side chains are *** CPEs display apparent aggregation-induced emission feature and high fluorescence quantum yields in the aggregated state. They can target lysosome in He La cells for fluorescence bioimaging. By virtue of the good retention effect and high photostability, these CPEs show ultralong-term tracing performance of subcutaneous tumors, and the tumor site can still be visualized for 20 days after injection. Owing to their good biocompatibility and strong ROS generation ability, the image-guided PDT based on these CPEs can effectively inhibit the growth of subcutaneous tumor and significantly prolong the survival of tumor bearing mice. The H&E and IHC staining reveal that the PDT of these CPEs depress the proliferation of tumor cells, and promote apoptosis and necrosis process. These new CPEs may be employed both as fluorescent probes for in vitro and in vivo long-term tracing and as photosensitizers for image-guided PDT of tumors.

After spinal cord injury,the concentrations of total and hyperphosphorylated tau in cerebrospinal fluid increase,and levels of both correlate with injury *** inhibition is considered effective therapy for many central nervous system diseases,including traumatic brain injury and Alzheimer's ***,whether it can play a role in the treatment of spinal cord injury remains *** this study,the therapeutic effects of tau inhibition were investigated in a rat model of transection spinal cord injury by injecting the rats with a lentivirus encoding tau siRNA that inhibits tau *** found that tau inhibition after spinal cord injury down-regulated the levels of inflammatory mediators,including tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6 and interleukin-1β.It also led to a shift of activated microglial polarization from the M1 pro-inflammatory phenotype to the M2 anti-inflammatory phenotype,and reduced the amount of reactive oxygen species in the acute ***,the survival of residual neural cells around the injury epicenter,and neuronal and axonal regeneration were also markedly enhanced,which promoted locomotor recovery in the model ***,our findings support the conclusion that tau inhibition can attenuate neuroinflammation,alleviate oxidative stress,protect residual cells,facilitate neurogenesis,and improve the functional recovery after spinal cord injury,and thus suggest that tau could be a good molecular target for spinal cord injury therapy.

This study aimed to investigate the pharmacological activity and molecular mechanism of Cel in models of endotoxemia and ***: We evaluated the anti-inflammatory efficacy of Cel against endotoxemia and sepsis in mice and macrophage cultures treated with lipopolysaccharide(LPS). We screened for potential protein targets of Cel using activity-based protein profiling(ABPP). Potential targets were validated using biophysical methods such as cellular thermal shift assays(CETSA) and surface plasmon resonance(SPR). Residues involved in Cel binding to target proteins were identified through point mutagenesis, and the functional effects of such binding were explored through gene ***: Cel protected mice from lethal endotoxemia and improved their survival with sepsis, and it significantly decreased the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in mice and macrophages treated with LPS(P targeting PKM2 and HMGB1 protein.
