The concern of this paper is to study local approximation properties of the Bernstein-Durrmeyer operators Mn. We derive the complete asymptotic expansion of the operators Mn and their derivatives as n tends to infinity. It turns out that the appropriate representation is a series of reciprocal factorials. All coefficients are calculated explicitly in a very concise form. Our main theorem contains several earlier partial results as special cases. Finally, we obtain a Voronovskaja-type formula for simultaneous approximation by linear combinations of Mn,

In this note we study the local behaviour of the multi-variate Bernstein polynomials B, on the d-dimensional simplex S?R d. For function f admitting derivatives of sufficient high order in x∈S we derive the complete asymptotic expansion of Bnf as n tends to infinity. All the coefficients of n?1 that only depend on f and x are calculated explicitly. It turns out that combinatorial numbers play an important role. Par result generalize recent formulae due to R. Zhang in a way.

A Photonuclear Reaction Model Based on IQMD in Intermediate-Energy Region

A photonuclear reaction transport model based on an isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model （IQMD） is presented in the intermediate energy region, which is named as GiQMD in this study. Methodology to simulate the course of the photonuclear reaction within the IQMD frame is described to study the photo- absorption cross section and π meson production, and the simulation results are compared with some available experimental data as well as the giessen Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck model.

Approximately 950 individual sequences of nonribosomally biosynthesised peptides are produced by the genus Trichoderma/Hypocreathat belong to a perpetually growing class of mostly linear antibiotic oligopeptides,which are rich in the non-proteinogenic α-aminoisobutyric acid(Aib).Thus,they are comprehensively named ***,peptaibiotics represent ca.80% of the total inventory of secondarymetabolites currently known from Trichoderma/*** unique membrane-modifying bioactivity results from amphipathicity and helicity,thus making them ideal candidates in assisting both colonisation and defence of the natural habitats by their fungal *** this,reports on the in vivo-detection of peptaibiotics have scarcely been published in the *** order to evaluate the significance of peptaibiotic production for a broader range of potential producers,we screened nine specimens belonging to seven hitherto uninvestigated fungicolous or saprotrophic Trichoderma/Hypocrea species by liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray high resolution mass *** of peptaibiotics found were independently confirmed by analysing the peptaibiome of pure agar cultures obtained by single-ascospore isolation from the *** the nine species examined,five were screened positive for peptaibiotics.A total of 78 peptaibiotics were sequenced,56(=72%)of which are ***,dihydroxyphenylalaninol and O-prenylated tyrosinol,two C-terminal residues,which have not been reported for peptaibiotics before,were found as well as new and recurrent sequences carrying the recently described tyrosinol residue at their *** majority of peptaibiotics sequenced are 18-or 19-residue *** homologies with‘classical representatives’of subfamily 1(SF1)-peptaibiotics argue for the formation of transmembrane ion channels,which are prone to facilitate the producer capture and defence of its substratum.

Numerical Determination of Induced Electric Eddy Fields Inside Arbitrarily Shaped Induction Coils

We propose a numerical solution of Faraday＇s law of induction based on the knowledge of the time-varying, non-uniform vector potential inside arbitrarily shaped electrical coils. The vector potential can be related to the magnetic induction which yields the well-known form of Faraday＇s law. The algorithm applies for non-retarding fields within the quasi-stationary regime. The model is intended to help to understand the behavior of electromagnetic fields inside the discharge chambers of radio-frequency ion thrusters. This provides a basis for modeling an inductively-coupled plasma which is kept burning by absorbing electromagnetic energy. In the long run, this plasma model will be used to support development processes of electric and electronic control devices which are needed for driving radio-frequency ion thrusters more efficiently. To predict the induced radio frequency fields more precisely, the skin effect along the coil wire is modeled. Furthermore, an impedance model of the coil, which incorporates the skin effect, is introduced. The simulated data are compared to measured values obtained by a generic electric field probe. Although the probe was uncalibrated, the observed values were highly similar to the expected values as determined by the numerical solution.

Effect of Intensive Inorganic Fertilizer Application on Microbial Properties in a Paddy Soil of Subtropical China

A field experiment with rice-rice rotation was conducted since 2002 in southeast China for investigating the response of soil microbial properties to intensive nitrogen fertilizer application. The tested soil was a subtropical paddy soil derived from Quaternary red clay. Differences between treatments existed in different application rates of urea when the experiment was designed. Urea was applied in five rates, i.e., 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 U, equivalent to 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 times the local average amount of urea application （900 kg urea ha-~ yr-~, equivalent to 414 kg N ha-1 yr-~）. In 2007, soil total nitrogen, available nitrogen, and soil organic carbon contents were increased by 10.2-27.9, 8.0-16.0, and 10.2-30.6%, respectively, in treatments with urea application rates of 0.5 to 2 U compared to control （0 U）. Microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen were also increased by 3.1-30.8 and 1.3-13.9%, respectively, in treatments with urea application. Basal respiration in treatments with urea input were 9.4-29.1% higher than that in control. However, changes of bacterial functional diversity had different trends. Urea fertilization enhanced bacterial functional diversity until treatment of 1 U, but re-decreased it from treatment of 1.5 U. Principal components analysis indicated that there were intimate relationships among soil organic matter, nitrogen nutrient, microbial biomass, and respiration. Nevertheless, microbial diversity was related to soil moisture contents after urea application. We conclude here that the application of N fertilizer improved soil microbial biomass and respiratory activity. But, microbial diversity was reduced when excessive urea was applied in the tested paddy soil.
