Separators play a critical role in lithium-ion ***,the restrictions of thermal stability and inferior electrical performance in commercial polyolefin separators significantly limit their applications under harsh ***,we report a cellulose-assisted self-assembly strategy to construct a cellulose-based separator massively and *** an ultrahigh ionic conductivity in electrolytes of 3.7 mS·cm^(-1) and the ability to regulate ion transport,the obtained separator is a promising alternative for high-performance lithium-ion *** addition,integrated with high thermal stability,the cellulose-based separator endows batteries with high safety at high temperatures,greatly expanding the application scenarios of energy storage devices in extreme environments.

Handmade cloning （HMC） is the most awaited, simple and micromanipulator-ffee version of somatic cell nuclear transfer （SCNT）. The requirement of expensive micromanipulators and skilled expertise is eliminated in this technique, proving it as a major revolution in the field of embryology. During the past years, many modifications have been incorporated in this technique to boost its efficiency. This alternative approach to micromanipulator based traditional cloning O-C） works wonder in generating comparable or even higher birth rates in addition to declining costs drastically and enabling cryopreservation. This technique is not only applicable to intraspecies nuclear transfer but also to interspecies nuclear transfer （iSCNT） thus permitting conservation of endangered species. It also offers unique possibilities for automation of SCNT which aims at production of transgenic animals that can cure certain human diseases by producing therapeutics hence, providing a healthier future for the wellbeing of humans. The present review aims at highlighting certain aspects of HMC including recent advancements in procedure and factors involved in elevating its efficiency besides covering the potentials and pitfalls of this technique

Copper nanoparticles（Cu NPs） have been synthesized by using laser ablation method,using deionized water as main *** formation of Cu NPs is confirmed by UV-visible spectrophotometer（UV-Vis）,atomic force microscopy（AFM） and X-ray diffraction（XRD）.Cu NPs fabricated by laser ablation have diameter in the range from 14 to 55 *** analysis revealed the face-centered cubic（fcc） crystal structure of Cu *** antibacterial activity of Cu NPs has been evaluated in vitro against strains of Escherichia coli（***） and Staphylococcus aureus（***）.The fabricated Cu NPs show considerable antibacterial activity against both bacterial *** bacterial activity of Cu NPs was found to depend on the microbial species.

Microbial Community in the Forestomachs of Alpacas (Lama pacos) and Sheep (Ovis aries)

Four 2-yr old alpacas （（48±2.3） kg） and four 2-yr old sheep （（50±1.7） kg） were used to study the pH and microbial community of forestomach from alpacas （Lama pacos） and sheep （Ovis aries） fed fresh alfalfa as the sole forage at low altitude （793 m）. The forestomach fluid was taken anaerobically via the esophagus. The electric pH meter and quantitative polymerase chain reaction systems were used to study the the pH and microbial community of forestomach. The results showed that the mean pH of forestomach fluid from alpacas was higher than that from sheep （P〈0.01）. The percentages of methanogens and Ruminococcusflavefaciens to total bacterial were lower in the forestomach of alpacas than that in the rumen of sheep, while the percentage of fungi and Fibrobacter succinogenes were higher. The percentage of protozoa was similar in the forestomach of alpacas and sheep. These differences can partly explain the reason that alpacas were lower methane production than sheep.

Biochar and Compost Increase Crop Yields but the Effect is Short Term on Sandplain Soils of Western Australia

Sandplain soils on the south coast of Western Australia have low inherent fertility, which is mainly due to poor nutrient retention caused by insufficient clay and organic colloidal material. Previous research has shown the benefits in nutrient levels and retention from adding clay to sandplain soils; however, there is almost no information on the addition of organic amendments. A field experiment was established at the Esperance Downs Research Station, Western Australian, in May 2010, to assess the effects of wheat straw(WS) and chicken manure(CM) biochars and compost with and without phosphorus(P) addition on soil properties and crop production over five growing seasons. The five seasons alternated between winter and summer crops. The CM and WS biochar and compost treatments significantly increased crop yields and P uptake in 3, 2 and 1 of the five seasons, respectively. The yield increases(P < 0.05) were no more than 8%. By the end of the third season, no differences in crop yields were found that could be attributed to the organic amendments. The addition of P increased crop yields in each winter cropping season. Phosphorus addition explained more than 30%of the variation in crop yields. Despite marginal P levels and summer drought conditions, arbuscular mycorrhizal root colonisation was not affected by the organic amendments. There were no significant interactions between the organic amendments and P addition in terms of crop yields, P uptake or P uptake efficiency. We conclude that much of the effect of the organic amendments was due to direct nutrient addition which dissipated over time.

Nonlinear Dynamic Responses of Tension Leg Platform with Slack-Taut Tether

The slack-taut state of tether is a particular adverse circumstance, which may influence the normal operation state of tension leg platform （TLP）. The dynamic responses of TLP with slack-taut tether are studied with consideration of several nonlinear factors introduced by large amplitude motions. The time histories of stresses of tethers of a typical TLP in slack- taut state are given. In addition, the sensitivities of slack to stiffness and mass are investigated by varying the stiffness of tether and mass of TLP. It is found that slack is sensitive to the mass of TLP. The critical curved surfaces （ over which indicates the slack） for the increase of mass are obtained.

An Approximate Method for Calculation of Fluid Force and Response of A Circular Cylinder at Lock-in

In this paper, equations calculating lift force of a rigid circular cylinder at lock-in in uniform flow are deduced in detail. Besides, equations calculating the lift force on a long flexible circular cylinder at lock-in are deduced based on mode analysis of a multi-degree freedom system. The simplified forms of these equations are also given. Furthemore, an approximate method to predict the forces and response of rigid circular cylinders and long flexible circular cylinders at lock-in is introduced in the case of low mass-damping ratio. A method to eliminate one deficiency of these equations is introduced. Comparison with experimental results shows the effectiveness of this approximate method.

Development of Double Antibody Sandwich ELISA for Detection of Duck or Goose Flavivirus

In order to establish double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （DAS-ELISA） for detection of duck or goose flavivirus, polyclonal antibody against the flavivirus strain JS804 in geese and monoclonal antibody against the E protein of flavivirus strain JS804 in geese were used as the capture antibody and detection antibody, respectively. The optimal dilution of the capture antibody and detecting antibody capable of detecting the flavivirus strain JS804 in geese were 1：3 200 and 1：160 in the check-board titration, respectively. The reaction time of sample was 1 h, and the optimal working dilution of HRP-labeled goat-anti-mouse IgG was 1：10 000. The positive standard value was 0.247 （OD450.m）. The geese flavivirus could be detected at a minimal concentration of 1.875 μg mL^-1. The ELISA had no cross-reaction with Newcastle disease virus （NDV）, Avian influenza virus （AIV）, Infectious bronchitis virus （IBV）, Infectious bursal disease virus （IBDV）, Duck hepatitis virus （DHV）, and Gosling plague virus （GPV）. Twenty clinical samples were detected by the DAS-ELISA and RT-PCR respectively, with the agreement rate of 75%. The results revealed that the DAS-ELISA possessed favorable specificity and higher sensitivity, indicating a suitable method for rapid detection of the duck or goose flavivirus.
