Background Unruptured intracranial aneurysm treatment aims to reduce the risk of aneurysm rupture and bleeding,relieves symptoms and improve the quality of life for *** study aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of Pipeline Embolization Device(ped,Covidien/Medtronic,Irvine,CA)treatment for intracranial aneurysms presenting with mass effect in real-world *** We selected patients from the ped in China Post-Market Multi-Center Registry Study with mass effect *** study endpoints included postoperative mass effect deterioration and mass effect relief at follow-up(3–36 months).We conducted multivariate analysis to identify factors associated with mass effect *** analyses by aneurysm location,size and form were also *** This study included 218 patients with a mean age of 54.3±11.8 years and a female predominance of 74.0%(162/218).The postoperative mass effect deterioration rate was 9.6%(21/218).During a median follow-up period of 8.4 months,the mass effect relief rate was 71.6%(156/218).Notably,immediate aneurysm occlusion following treatment was significantly associated with mass effect relief(OR 0.392,95%CI,0.170 to 0.907,p=0.029).Subgroup analysis demonstrated that adjunctive coiling contributed to mass effect relief in cavernous aneurysms,while dense embolism impeded symptom relief in aneurysmsped in relieving mass *** findings of this study provide support for endovascular treatment to alleviate mass effect in unruptured intracranial *** registration number NCT03831672.

Role of Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 in children in Germany

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of antioxidant supplementation in preventi ng kwashiorkor in a population of Malawian children at high risk of developing k washiorkor. Design: Prospective, double blind, placebo controlled trial randomis ed by household. Setting: 8 villages in rural southern Malawi. Participants: 237 2 children in 2156 households aged 1-4 years were enrolled; 2332 completed the trial. Intervention: Daily supplementation with an antioxidant powder containing riboflavin, vitamin E, selenium, and N-acetylcysteine in a dose that provided about three times the recommended dietary allowance of each nutrient or placebo for 20 weeks. Main outcome measures: The primary outcome was the incidence of oe dema. Secondary outcomes were the rates of change for weight and length and the number of days of infectious symptoms. Results: 62 children developed kwashiorko r (defined by the presence of oedema); 39/1184 (3.3%)-were in the antioxidant group and 23/1188 (1.9%) were in the placebo group (relative risk 1.70, 95%con fidence interval 0.98 to 2.42). The two groups did not differ in rates of weight or height gain. Children who received antioxidant supplementation did not exper ience less fever, cough, or diarrhoea. Conclusions: Antioxidant supplementation at the dose provided did not prevent the onset of kwashiorkor. This finding does not support the hypothesis that depletion of vitamin E, selenium, cysteine, or riboflavin has a role in the development of kwashiorkor.

Upper gastrointestinal bleeding in Bangladeshi children:Analysis of 100 cases

Comparison of geochemical parameters derived from comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry and conventional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry

The saturated and aromatic hydrocarbon fractions of crude oil samples have been analyzed by using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry （GCxGC-TOFMS） and conventional gas chro- matography-mass spectrometry （GC-MS）. In order to investigate the consistency and discrepancy of the obtained data from the two instruments, some petroleum geochemical parameters have been compared. A comparison of 23 geochemical parameters indicates that 10 parameters are comparable from the two instruments with less than 5% deviations. Therefore, GCxGC-TOFMS is equivalent to conventional GC-MS in some geochemical parameter acquisitions. However, the other 13 parameters are discrepant, including gammacerane / αβ-hopane, Ts/Tm, 2-ethyl-naphthalene / 1-ethyl-naphthalene （ENR）, （2, 6-dimethyl-naphthalene ＋2,7-dimethyl-naphthalene） / 1,5-dimethyl-naphthalene （DNR）, etc. Furthermore, compared to GCxGC-TOFMS, some low concentration compounds could not be detected by the conventional GC-MS, which results in the missing of related geochemical data. Normally, this is caused by the limited separation power and peak capacity of the conventional GC column. Besides, the co-eluting peak integrations are also affected significantly due to the incomplete separation of the compounds. Some low concentration compounds might not be detected because of the interference from the baseline noise or from other substances. GCxGC-TOFMS prevails in compound separation against the conventional GC-MS by avoiding co-elution, which achieves more accurate and precise peak area measurement with the presence of a true baseline. So petroleum geochemical parameters obtained from the GCxGC-TOFMS GCxGC-TOFMS may become one of the most effective analytical are more reliable than those from the conventional GC-MS tools for the oil and gas geochemical study.

Influence of personal and lesson factors on caloric expenditure in physical education
