Mass spectroscopic characteristics of phosphoryl amino acids were studied in detail by positive and negative electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) in conjunction with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). Be- sides N-diisopropyloxyphosphoryl amino acids (N-DIPP-AA), O-phospho- and O-diisopropyloxyphosphoryl amino acids (O-DIPP-AA) were studied and compared to N-DIPP-AA. The fragmentation pathways of [M+H]+, [M+Na]+ and [M-H]- ions of phosphoryl amino acids were summarized. In addition to several similar patterns, each of them showed its characteristic fragmention.

In this work,we have developed a novel choline biosensor on the basis of immobilization of choline oxidase (ChOx) by the attractive materials layered double hydroxides (LDHs). Amperometric detection of choline was evaluated by holding the modified electrode at 0.5 V (vs. SCE). Due to the special properties of LDHs ([Zn3-Al-Cl]),such as chemical inertness,high porosity,and swelling property,the [Zn3-Al-Cl]/ChOx modified electrode exhibited an enhanced analytical performance. The biosensor provided a linear response to choline over a concentration range from 3.7 × 10-6 to 6.3 × 10-4 M with a low detection limit of 3 × 10-7 M based on S/N=3. The apparent Michaelis-Menten constant was calculated to be 1.38 mM. In addition,the interaction between ChOx and LDHs has also been investigated using FT-IR spectroscopy.

The Efficacy and Safety of Succinylated Atelocollagen and Adenosine for the Treatment of Periorbital Wrinkles

The degradation of structural collagen contributes to the characteristic appearance of wrinkles. The anti-wrinkle effects of a variety of substances have been studied, but the potential anti-wrinkle effects of topical applications of collagen for periorbital wrinkles have not been investigated. To evaluate the effects of topical application of succinylated atelocollagen on periorbital wrinkles and to compare the results of treatment with adenosine, a clinical study on Korean participants was carried out. Each participant’s right or left periorbital area was treated with either a solution containing succinylated atelocollagen and adenosine or a solution containing only succinylated atelocollagen for two months. A placebo solution was applied to the opposite periorbital area of each patient’s face for two months. Based on objective and subjective measurements of clinical improvement, the assessment scores for treated sites were statistically significantly higher than scores for placebo sites after two months of treatment. Analysis of silicone casts of periorbital wrinkles demonstrated partial effects of succinylated atelocollagen on periorbital wrinkles. However, we did not observe any effects of adenosine on periorbital wrinkles. Succinylated atelocollagen may be an effective treatment option for periorbital wrinkles, but further studies including a longer treatment period and larger subject group are needed to verify these results.

The spatial distribution of surface and subsurface soil attributes is an important input to environmental *** attributes represent an important input to the Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT),which influence the accuracy of the modeling *** ArcGIS-based tool was developed to predict soil attributes and provide inputs to *** essential inputs are digital elevation model and field *** soil data/maps can be used to derive observations when recent field surveys are not *** layers,such as satellite images and auxiliary data,improve the prediction *** model contains a series of steps(menus)to facilitate iterative *** steps are summarized in deriving many terrain attributes to characterize each pixel based on local attributes as well as the characteristics of the contributing *** model then subdivides the entire watershed into smaller facets(subdivisions of subwatersheds)and classifies these into groups.A linear regression model to predict soil attributes from terrain attributes and auxiliary data are established for each class and implemented to predict soil attributes for each pixel within the class and then merged for the entire watershed or study ***(Soil-Landscape Estimation and Evaluation Program)utilizes Pedo-transfer functions to provide the spatial distribution of the necessary unmapped soil data needed for SWAT *** application of the tool demonstrated acceptable accuracy and better spatial distribution of soil attributes compared with two spatial interpolation *** analysis indicated low sensitivity of SWAT prediction to the number of field observations when SLEEP is used to provide the soil *** demonstrates the potential of SLEEP to support SWAT modeling where soil data is scarce.

SI RT6 is an important histone modifying protein that regulates DNA repair,telomere maintenance,energy me-tabolism,and target gene *** SIRT6 has been identifi ed as a tumor suppressor and is down-regulated in certain cancer types,but not in other *** deposited gene profi ling studies we found that SIRT6 was overexpressed in prostate tumors,compared with normal or paratumor prostate *** micro-array studies confi rmed the higher levels of SIRT6 in both prostate tumor tissues and prostate cancer cells than in their normal *** of SIRT6 in human prostate cancer cells led to sub-G1 phase arrest of cell cy-cle,increased apoptosis,elevated DNA damage level and decrease in BCL2 gene ***,SIRT6-de-fi ciency reduced cell viability and enhanced chemothera-peutics *** together,this study provides the fi rst evidence of SIRT6 overexpression in human prostate cancer,and SIRT6 regulation could be exploited for pros-tate cancer therapy.

Wideband Modeling of Land-Mobile-Satellite Channel in Built-Up Environment

This paper presents a propagation model for land-mobile-satellite (LMS) wideband radio channel in built-up environment. The model characterizes the behavior of the radio channel, under shadowing and multipath effects due to buildings, with variation of the elevation angle of the satellite. The wideband parameters (coherent bandwidth and time delay spreading) for LMS channel, in residential and urban environments, are computed. These parameters can be considered as a measure of the amount of ISI (inter-symbol interference) of the radio channel, which distorts the received signal and accordingly increases the bit error rate. The calculated values for these parameters using our model, show very good agreement with the corresponding measured ones, which accordingly shows the validity of the developed model for radio channel design in satellite mobile communication systems.

Single image super-resolution(SISR)is a fundamentally challenging problem because a low-resolution(LR)image can correspond to a set of high-resolution(HR)images,while most are not ***,SISR can be achieved by a deep learning-based *** constructing a very deep super-resolution convolutional neural network(VDSRCNN),the LR images can be improved to HR *** study mainly achieves two objectives:image super-resolution(ISR)and deblurring the image from ***,by analyzing ISR,we modify different training parameters to test the performance of ***,we add the motion blurred images to the training set to optimize the performance of ***,we use image quality indexes to evaluate the difference between the images from classical methods and *** results indicate that the VDSRCNN performs better in generating HR images from LR images using the optimized VDSRCNN in a proper method.
