BACKGROUND: The route of most systemic diseases begins in the oral cavity. Oral health knowledge of mouthwashes and their uses is indispensable for the general population and especially adolescents. The use of mouthwash by adolescents can be a beneficial adjunct to their oral hygiene routine, providing additional protection against dental diseases and promoting fresher breath. Overuse or misuse of mouthwash, particularly those containing alcohol or other potentially irritating ingredients, may lead to adverse effects such as oral mucosal irritation, dry mouth, or alteration of the oral microbiome. OBJECTIVES: To determine the knowledge, attitude, and use of mouthwash among senior high school students in Kumasi. METHODOLOGY: 120 students responded to a standard questionnaire by a convenient sample technique. The Statistical Package for Social sciences (SPSS) 22.0 and MS Excel were used for data management and analysis. The results of the study were presented using tables, bar charts, and pie chart. RESULTS: The ages of the respondents ranged from 14 to 20 years. Out of the 120 participants, 71 students that represent 59.2% of the total, used mouthwash. Majority of the participants (63%) utilized a mouthwash after brushing their teeth. 49% of the participants reported using mouthwash to address halitosis, 37% used it to combat periodontal disease, and 10% used it for relief from a sore throat. CONCLUSION: In general, most of the participants who use mouthwash had excellent knowledge and a positive attitude toward the use of mouthwash.

The energy consumption of office buildings has increased sharply since the 21st century with the increasing ur-banization *** this stage,the energy consumption of office buildings in China mainly comes from air conditioning and *** paper obtains the regression equation of natural lighting illumination and radi-ant heat gain under different curtain conditions through experiments and simulations,and gives the theoretical calculation process of curtain regulation of office thermal and light environment and energy *** and Ecotect software were used to analyze the thermal and light environment and energy consumption of the *** results show that setting curtains in the room can effectively improve the indoor thermal light en-vironment,the higher the transmittance of curtains the lower the lighting energy consumption,the higher the number of high temperature hours of natural room temperature and the greater the radiant heat *** room with thick curtains has the lowest energy consumption for air conditioning in summer,followed by the room with thin curtains,and the room without curtains has the highest energy consumption for air *** room without curtains has the lowest energy consumption for artificial lighting,the room with thin curtains has the second lowest,and the room with thick curtains has the highest electricity consumption for artificial *** air conditioning energy consumption accounts for the main building energy consumption,followed by the lighting energy *** setting curtains in the office,the air conditioning energy consumption caused by the solar radiation heat entering the room through the exterior windows is smaller than the lighting energy consumption caused by artificial ***,the installation of internal shading with moderate trans-mittance and good thermal insulation performance can make the energy saving of lighting and air conditioning energy consumption reach the

A weather-and brightness-based classification network(WBCNet) is proposed for driving scene classification to address the decreased accuracy in perception caused by weather and environment *** facilitate its applicability in vehicles and minimize computational demands on vehicle chips, WBCNet has been designed with special modules, including attention mechanisms and dilated convolutions. Dilated convolutions combined with residual connections empower WBCNet to concurrently handle information at various scales. This aids in simplifying the training and optimization of deep networks, consequently enhancing the model's performance and mitigating the risk of overfitting. The outstanding feature association capability originating from the fusion of channel attention and spatial attention enables WBCNet to focus more on the sky, lanes, and other traffic information features within the image. This design enables WBCNet to use only images as input, making it highly suitable for engineering applications. The output of WBCNet provides the basis for the downstream perception model selection algorithm, allowing it to choose the appropriate perception model for different scenes accurately. A dataset with complex scenes based on Carla is constructed for comparison to verify WBCNet's performance. Finally, a real-world driving dataset is used to validate the effectiveness and real-time performance of WBCNet.

Cross-Target Stance Detection with Sentiments-Aware Hierarchical Attention Network

The task of cross-target stance detection faces significant challenges due to the lack of additional background information in emerging knowledge domains and the colloquial nature of language patterns. Traditional stance detection methods often struggle with understanding limited context and have insufficient generalization across diverse sentiments and semantic structures. This paper focuses on effectively mining and utilizing sentimentsemantics knowledge for stance knowledge transfer and proposes a sentiment-aware hierarchical attention network (SentiHAN) for cross-target stance detection. SentiHAN introduces an improved hierarchical attention network designed to maximize the use of high-level representations of targets and texts at various fine-grain levels. This model integrates phrase-level combinatorial sentiment knowledge to effectively bridge the knowledge gap between known and unknown targets. By doing so, it enables a comprehensive understanding of stance representations for unknown targets across different sentiments and semantic structures. The model's ability to leverage sentimentsemantics knowledge enhances its performance in detecting stances that may not be directly observable from the immediate context. Extensive experimental results indicate that SentiHAN significantly outperforms existing benchmark methods in terms of both accuracy and robustness. Moreover, the paper employs ablation studies and visualization techniques to explore the intricate relationship between sentiment and stance. These analyses further confirm the effectiveness of sentence-level combinatorial sentiment knowledge in improving stance detection capabilities. © 2024 Tech science Press. All rights reserved.
