Background:The prognosis of breast cancer is often unfavorable,emphasizing the need for early metastasis risk detection and accurate treatment *** study aimed to develop a novel multi-modal deep learning model using preoperative data to predict disease-free survival(DFS).Methods:We retrospectively collected pathology imaging,molecular and clinical data from The Cancer Genome Atlas and one independent institution in *** developed a novel Deep Learning clinical medicine Based Pathological Gene Multi-modal(DeepClinMed-PGM)model for DFS prediction,integrating clinicopathological data with molecular *** patients included the training cohort(n=741),internal validation cohort(n=184),and external testing cohort(n=95).Result:Integrating multi-modal data into the DeepClinMed-PGM model significantly improved area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)*** the training cohort,AUC values for 1-,3-,and 5-year DFS predictions increased to 0.979,0.957,and 0.871,while in the external testing cohort,the values reached 0.851,0.878,and 0.938 for 1-,2-,and 3-year DFS predictions,*** DeepClinMed-PGM's robust discriminative capabilities were consistently evident across various cohorts,including the training cohort[hazard ratio(HR)0.027,95%confidence interval(CI)0.0016-0.046,Pclinical data for enhanced predictive accuracy,offering promise for personalized treatment strategies.

In this editorial,we discuss an article titled,“Significant risk factors for intensive care unit-acquired weakness:A processing strategy based on repeated machine learning,”published in a recent issue of the World Journal of clinical *** care unit-acquired weakness(ICU-AW)is a debilitating condition that affects critically ill patients,with significant implications for patient outcomes and their quality of *** study explored the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to predict ICU-AW occurrence and identify key risk *** from a cohort of 1063 adult intensive care unit(ICU)patients were analyzed,with a particular emphasis on variables such as duration of ICU stay,duration of mechanical ventilation,doses of sedatives and vasopressors,and underlying comorbidities.A multilayer perceptron neural network model was developed,which exhibited a remarkable impressive prediction accuracy of 86.2%on the training set and 85.5%on the test *** study highlights the importance of early prediction and intervention in mitigating ICU-AW risk and improving patient outcomes.

Lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)have emerged as highly effective delivery systems for nucleic acid-based ***,the broad clinical translation of LNP-based drugs is hampered by the lack of robust and scalable synthesis techniques that can consistently produce formulations from early development to clinical *** this work,we proposed a method to achieve scalable synthesis of LNPs by scaling inertial microfluidic mixers isometrically in three ***,a theoretical predictive method,which controls the mixing time to be equal across different chips,is developed to ensure consistent particle size and size distribution of the synthesized *** loaded with small interfering RNA(siRNA)were synthesized at different flow rates,exhibiting consistent physical properties,including particle size,size distribution and encapsulation *** work provides a practical approach for scalable synthesis of LNPs consistently,offering the potential to accelerate the transition of nucleic acid drug development into clinical application.
