Synthesis of boron nitride nanorod and its performance as a metalfree catalyst for oxidative desulfurization of diesel fuel

In order to reduce the sulfur compounds in diesel fuel,boron nitride(BN)has been used as a novel metal-free catalyst in the present *** nanocatalyst was synthesized via template-free approach followed by heating treatment at 900℃ in nitrogen atmosphere that the characteristics of the sample were identified by the X-ray diffraction,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,field emission scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,atomic force microscopy,and N2 adsorption-desorption *** results of structural and morphological analysis represented that BN has been successfully *** efficacy of the main operating parameters on the process was studied by using response surface methodology based on the Box-Behnken design *** prepared catalyst showed high efficiency in oxidative desulfurization of diesel fuel with initial sulfur content of 8040 mg·kg^(-1)*** statistical analysis,a significant quadratic model was obtained to predict the sulfur removal as a function of efficient *** maximum efficiency of 72.4%was achieved under optimized conditions at oxidant/sulfur molar ratio of 10.2,temperature of 71℃,reaction time of 113 min,and catalyst dosage of 0.36 ***,the reusability of the BN was studied,and the result showed little reduction in activity of the catalyst after 10 times ***,a plausible mechanism was proposed for oxidation of sulfur compounds on the surface of the *** present study shows that BN materials can be selected as promising metal-free catalysts for desulfurization process.

The intuitive fuzzy set has found important application in decision-making and machine *** enrich and utilize the intuitive fuzzy set,this study designed and developed a deep neural network-based glaucoma eye detection using fuzzy difference equations in the domain where the retinal images *** image detections are categorized as normal eye recognition,suspected glaucomatous eye recognition,and glaucomatous eye *** degrees associated with weighted values are calculated to determine the level of concentration between the fuzzy partition and the retinal *** proposed model was used to diagnose glaucoma using retinal images and involved utilizing the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)and deep learning to identify the fuzzy weighted regularization between *** methodology was used to clarify the input images and make them adequate for the process of glaucoma *** objective of this study was to propose a novel approach to the early diagnosis of glaucoma using the Fuzzy Expert System(FES)and Fuzzy differential equation(FDE).The intensities of the different regions in the images and their respective peak levels were *** the peak regions were identified,the recurrence relationships among those peaks were then *** partitioning was done due to varying degrees of similar and dissimilar concentrations in the *** and dissimilar concentration levels and spatial frequency generated a threshold image from the combined fuzzy matrix and *** distinguished between a normal and abnormal eye condition,thus detecting patients with glaucomatous eyes.

This study aims to estimate monthly averaged daily horizontal global solar *** climatological data collected at twelve major cities located across Libya’s map were used to establish 7 different empirical *** empirical coefficients of the models were calculated using the least square *** accuracy of the models was evaluated using different statistical criteria such as Taylor diagram,mean absolute percentage error,MAPE,and root mean square error,*** results indicated that the sunshine duration-based models are more accurate than air temperature-based models,and the best performance was obtained by the quadratic regression model for all twelve Libyan ***,this regression model can be used for the prediction of monthly mean horizontal global solar radiation at a specific site across Libya’s regions with minimum ***,the results of the global solar irradiance produced by this method can be used for designing solar systems applications.

Objective:To investigate the environmental and social aspects of poverty contributing to malaria incidence in Indonesia from 2016 to ***:Random forest regression was used to analyse the independent variables contributing to malaria *** conditions were extracted from remotely sensed data,including vegetation,land temperature,soil moisture,precipitation,and *** contrast,the social aspects of poverty were obtained from government statistical ***:From 2016 to 2020,the contribution of each environmental and social aspect of poverty to malaria incidence fluctuated ***,the top three essential variables were people aged 15 years and above,experiencing poverty(variable importance/VI=32.0%),people experiencing poverty who work in the agricultural sector(VI=14.4%),and precipitation(VI=9.8%).It was followed by people experiencing poverty who are unemployed(VI=9.2%),land temperature(VI=5.2%),people experiencing poverty who have low education(VI=8.0%),soil moisture(VI=7.4%),elevation(VI=6.0%),and vegetation(VI=3.8%).Conclusions:Poverty and variables related to climate have become the crucial determinants of malaria in *** government must strengthen malaria surveillance through climate change mitigation and adaptation programs and accelerate poverty alleviation programs to support malaria elimination.

One of the greatest challenges in the agroecosystem is to improve cropland intensification while preserving agroecosystem *** many studies have investigated the effect of cropland intensification on agroecosystem service,the interactive coupling and coordination among these factors remain largely *** view of this,this study performed a case study of the Loess Plateau in Shaanxi Province,China and constructed comprehensive evaluation models to quantify the cropland intensification and agroecosystem service in this *** analysis and the coupling coordination degree model were used to evaluate the interactive relationship between cropland intensification and agroecosystem service,and statistical analysis and spatial autocorrelation were used to analyze the spatial characteristics and potential mechanism of the coupling *** show that both the cropland intensification and agroecosystem service in the study area were relatively low yet gradually increased from 2000 to *** service lag was identified as the dominant unbalanced development *** the supply capacity of agroecosystem services plays a key role in the balanced development of cropland in the Loess *** coupling coordination degree between cropland intensification and agroecosystem service ranges from basic coordination to serious ***,cropland intensification practices in the area should be optimized to enhance this coordination *** upward trend was also observed in the coupling coordination degree from2000 to *** withdrawal of marginal cropland in the Grain for Green program is one of the most important reasons for this trend,especially for the northern *** 83.6%of the high-high clusters are concentrated in the southern region of the Loess Plateau,whereas 70.5%of the low-low clusters are distributed in the northern *** clustering characteristics are mainly attributed to the environmental

Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid insecticide used for managing the Asian citrus psyllid,Diaphorina citri Kuwayama,which serves as vector of phytopathogens causing citrus ***,development of resistance to neonicotinoids among populations of *** has coincided with occasional control failures in the *** objectives of this research were to(1)survey current levels of imidacloprid resistance in Florida citrus;(2)compare feeding behavior between imidacloprid-resistant and susceptible *** using electrical penetration graph recordings,and(3)investigate the possible amplification of insecticide hormoligosis associated with *** surveys confirmed that the susceptibility of *** populations to imidacloprid has decreased in commercial Florida citrus groves compared with a laboratory-susceptible *** 12 generations of selection,resistance to imidacloprid increased by 438 fold compared with the susceptible ***-susceptible *** feeding on citrus exhibited significantly more bouts associated with intercellular pathway(C),phloem penetration(D),phloem salivation(E1),and nonprobing(Np)activities than imidacloprid-resistant ***,there were no differences observed in the frequency or duration of phloem ingestion or xylem feeding between susceptible and resistant *** was no statistical difference in fecundity between resistant and susceptible ***,the fecundity of imidacloprid-susceptible female *** treated with a sublethal concentration of imidacloprid(LC_(25))increased significantly compared with controls,while such hormoligosis was less pronounced among imidacloprid-resistant *** results suggest that imidacloprid-resistant psyllids may cease feeding sooner than susceptible counterparts following sublethal exposure to this insecticide,indicative of a behavioral resistance mechanism.

Background: Magnetic resonance(MR)-guided ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy with whole-pelvic irradiation(UHF-WPRT)is a novel approach to radiotherapy for patients with high-risk(HR)and very high-risk(VHR)prostate cancer(PCa).However,the inherent complexity of adaptive UHF-WPRT might inevitably result in longer on-couch *** aimed to estimate the delivered dose,study the feasibility and safety of adaptive UHF-WPRT on a 1.5-Tesla ***: Ten patients with clinical stage T3a-4N0-1M0-1c PCa,who consecutively received UHF-WPRT,were enrolled *** contours of the target and organ-at-risks on the position verification-MR(PV-MR),beam-on 3D-MR(Bn-MR),and post-MR(after radiotherapy delivery)were derived from the pre-MR data by deformable image *** physician then manually adjusted them,and dose recalculation was performed *** Prism 9(GraphPad Prism Software Inc.)was utilized for conducting statistical ***: In total,we collected 188 MR scans(50 pre-MR,50 PV-MR,44 Bn-MR,and 44 post-MR scans).With median 59 min,the mean prostate clinical target volume(CTV)-V_(100%)was 98.59%±2.74%,and the mean pelvic CTVp-V_(100%)relative percentages of all scans was 99.60%±1.18%.The median V29 Gy change in the rectal wall was−2%(−18%to 20%).With a median follow-up of 9 months,no patient had acute Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events(CTCAE)grade 2 or more severe genitourinary(GU)or gastrointestinal(GI)toxicities(0%).Conclusion: UHF-RT to the prostate and the whole pelvis with concomitant boost to positive nodes using an Adapt-To-Shape(ATS)workflow was technically feasible for patients with HR and VHR PCa,presenting only mild GU and GI *** estimated target dose during the beam-on phase was clinically acceptable based on the 3D-MR-based dosimetry *** trial registration Chinese Clinical Trial Registry ChiCTR2000033382.

To the Editor:Esophageal cancer,one of the most common cancer types in China,with an estimated 346,633 new cases and 323,600 deaths in 2022,is becoming an increasingly serious clinical and public health problem.^([1])The successful promotion of the self-management strategy has indicated that lifestyle modifications can be valuable in the primary prevention of cancer *** a healthy lifestyle has become a novel strategy for primary prevention and risk reduction in high-risk *** epidemiological studies have identified several lifestyle-related risk factors for esophageal cancer,including smoking and diet.^([2])Each factor can typically explain a modest proportion of cancer ***,when combined,these known risk factors may substantially affect the risk of esophageal ***,some risk factors for esophageal cancer are non-modifiable,including age,low socioeconomic status,and family *** and how these non-modifiable risk factors affect primary cancer prevention by intervening with modifiable risk factors remain unclear.
