Laparoscopic liver resection utilizing the ventral avascular area of the inferior vena cava:A retrospective cohort study

Sliding-cupping along meridian for lymphedema after breast cancer surgery: A randomized controlled trial

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy difference between sliding-cupping along meridian combined with short-stretch elastic bandage wrapping and comprehensive detumescence therapy in treating lymphedema after breast cancer ***:Sixty patients with lymphedema after breast cancer surgery were randomly divided into the sliding-cupping group and the comprehensive detumescence therapy(CDT)group,with 30 cases in each *** sliding-cupping group used the sliding-cupping along meridian therapy,and the sliding-cupping was applied along the three yin meridians and three yang meridians on the hand of the affected-side upper limbs,continuing for 25-30 *** the sliding-cupping was finished,the affected limb was wrapped with the short-stretch elastic *** CDT group was treated with comprehensive detumescence therapy(CDT).Both groups were treated once a day,with14 times as one course of treatment,and there was totally 1 course of *** changes of circumferences before and after treatment of the affected limb were measured by a flexible ruler,and the efficacy was *** subcutaneous tissue thickness and the full skin layer thickness of the patients with moderate to severe edema in sliding-cupping group were measured by color Doppler ***:After treatment,the circumferences at the cubital crease,5 cm above olecranon,and 10 cm above the olecranon of the affected limbs in the sliding-cupping group were(26.02±2.42)cm,(28.43±3.13)cm,and(30.05±2.80)cm respectively,which were all reduced compared with the pre-treatment circumference(27.95±3.00)cm,(30.80±3.38)cm,and(32.17±2.96 cm).In the sliding-cupping group,the post-treatment subcutaneous tissue thicknesses at 5 cm above the olecranon,10 cm above the olecranon and 5 cm below the olecranon,and full skin layer thickness at 10 cm below the olecranon of the 15 patients with moderate to severe edema were(8.71±2.83)cm,(8.53±2.4)cm,(6.46±1.38)cm,and(1.61±0.17)cm respectively,which were a

Meta-analysis of the efficacy in treatment of primary sjogren's syndrome: traditional chinese medicine vs Western medicine

OBJCTIVE: To compare the clinical efficacy of traditional chinese medicine(TCM) to Western medicine in the treatment of primary Sj?gren's syndrome(p SS).METHODS: We collected randomized controlled trials of TCM vs Western medicine for the treatment of p SS in chinese and foreign databases. The study quality was evaluated as suggested in the Cochrane Handbook. The Meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager 5.0 statistical ***: A total of 31 randomized controlled trials with 2137 cases were retrieved. The efficiencies of TCM and control treatments were 87.18% and65.63%, respectively. The results of heterogeneity tests showed that the data were homogeneous(P = 0.83), thus a fixed effects model was used for analysis. The results revealed an odds ratio of 3.74 with a 95% confidence interval of 2.99-4.69. The overall effectiveness value was 11.48(P < 0.000 01).These results suggest the efficacy of TCM therapy for p SS better than Western ***: Although our findings reveal that the TCM treatment of p SS had significant advantages over its counterpart, there were some flaws in the studies included. The findings warrant further investigation.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Rebixiao(RBX)chinese herbal tablets(CHT)and chinese formula granules(CFG)in the treatment of acute gout arthritis(AGA).METHODS:This randomized,multicenter,double-blind,controlled trial included 165 AGA patients with the damp-heat symptom pattern who were randomly divided into an RBX CHT group and an RBX CFG group and treated for 7 d at three *** total effective rates of the joint symptom score,traditional chinese medicine(TCM)symptoms score,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),and C-reactive protein(CRP)were used to evaluate the clinical *** assessments were also ***:Of the 165 enrolled patients,147 completed the clinical *** was no difference in baseline between the two *** total effective rates of the joint symptom score were 94.36%and 97.36%,and the total effective rates of the TCM symptoms score were 95.77%and 97.36%in the CFG group and CHT group,*** statistical difference was found between the two groups(P>0.05).Additionally,ESR and CRP were similar in both groups(P>0.05).Furthermore,treatment efficacy regarding TCM and joint symptoms,the ESR,and CRP were consistent within each center and among the different centers(P>0.05).In addition,the incidence of adverse events was 4.22%and 2.63%in the CFG group and CHT group,respectively,and no difference was observed between the two groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:RBX CFG and CHT have significant and similar efficacy in the treatment of AGA,and CFG did not increase adverse side effects.

OBJECTIVE:To study serum visfatin levels in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)grouped by traditional chinese medicine(TCM)*** study the correlations of serum visfatin levels with homeostatic model assessment insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS),body mass index(BMI),testosterone(T),total cholesterol(TC),and triglycerides(TG).METHODS:Two hundred and twelve PCOS patients were placed into the following TCM pattern subgroups:Kidney-Yang deficiency(KYD)group,Spleen-Yang deficiency(SYD)group,stagnant Liver-Qi transforming into heat(SLQTH)group,and Kidney-Yin deficiency(KYIND)*** correlations between serum visfatin levels and HOMA-IR,FPG,FINS,BMI,T,TC,andTG were ***:Of all patients with PCOS,there were 82in the KYD group(38.6%),67 in the SYD group(31.6%),37 in the SLQTH group(17.5%),and 26 in the KYIND group(12.3%).Visfatin levels in all PCOS subgroups were higher than those in the control group(P0.05).The SYD group had higher levels of FINS and HOMA-IR compared with the KYD,SLQTH,and KYIND groups(P<0.05).In all subgroups,after controlling for BMI,TG,TC,and age,visfatin was positively correlated with FINS(r=0.197,P=0.015)and HOMA-IR(r=0.173,P=0.033),and was not correlated with ***:KYD and SYD patterns are most common in PCOS *** visfatin is a common pathophysiologic manifestation in PCOS *** SYD group had the highest levels of visfatin,and visfatin was positively correlated with FINS and HOMA-IR.
