Ear differentiation,grain development and their interaction with factors in the growing environment,such as temperature,solar radiation and precipitation,greatly influence grain number and grain weight,and ultimately affect summer maize *** this study,field experiments involving different sowing dates were conducted over three years to evaluate the effects of temperature factors,average solar radiation and total precipitation on the growth process,ear differentiation,fertilization characteristics,grain filling and yield of summer maize varieties with different growth *** hybrids were evaluated in Huang-Huai-Hai Plain(HHHP),China from 2018 to 2020 with five different sowing *** results showed that the grain yield formation of summer maize was strongly impacted by the environment from the silking(R1)to milking(R3)*** minimum temperature(AT_(min))was the key environmental factor that determined *** in the length of the growing season(r=–0.556,Pdifferentiation and grain development at the pre-and post-silking stages improved maize yie

The incidence rate and harmfulness of depression are increasing yearly， and the research on the antidepressant effect of regulating the intestinal microecology balance has attracted widespread attention. The purpose of this research was to study the preventive effects and the regulatory mechanism of edible Lilium-egg yolk compound powder(Chinese abbreviation， BHT) on gut-brain crosstalk in depressive rats induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) through the "microbiota-gut-brain" axis. Results showed that infusion of BHT for 21 days ameliorated the morphology of the hippocampus and colon， increased the rate of sucrose preference， reduced the immobility time of forced swimming， increased the expression level of anti-inflammatory cytokine Interleukin-10 (IL-10) in serum， up-regulate the expression level of plasma neurotransmitter 5-hydroxy tryptamine (5-HT)， down-regulate the expression of inflammatory factors tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)， interleukin-6 (IL-6)， and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and neurotransmitter glutamic acid (Glu) in serum， and decrease the expression levels of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)， diamine oxidase (DAO) and lactate dehydrogenase (LD) in plasma. The underlying mechanism may be to reduce the activation of microglia (lower levels of CD11b， IBa1 protein and gene expression)， regulate hippocampal GR/BDNF/NPY signal pathway (higher levels of GR， BDNF， NPY protein and gene expression)， enhance intestinal mucosal barrier function (higher levels of ZO-1， Occludin protein and gene expression)， regulate the composition and structure of intestinal flora(Analysis results of LEfSe combined with random forest showed that Prevotella and Paraprevotella might be biomarkers of BHT intervention in depression)， and it is related to the improvement of glutathione metabolism， and other metabolic pathways. Extracellular vesicles(EVs)are nano-size vesicles secreted naturally by all cells into the extracellular space and have been recognized as important cell-cell mediators in multicel-lular *** contain nucleic acids,proteins,lipids,and other cellular components,regulating many basic biological processes and playing an important role in regenerative med-icine and *** can be traced to their cells of origin and exhibit a similar ***,EVs demonstrate low immunogenicity,good biocompatibility,and fewer side ef-fects,compared to their parent *** stem cells(MsCs)are one of the most important resource cells for EVs,with a great capacity for self-renewal and multipotent differ-entiation,and play an essential role in stem cell *** mechanism of MsC therapy was thought to be attributed to the differentiation of MsCs after targeted migration,as previously ***,emerging evidence shows the previously unknown role of MsC-derived para-crine factors in stem cell *** EVs derived from oral tissue MSCs(OMSC-EVs),show more advantages than those of all other MsCs in tissue repair and regeneration,due to their lower invasiveness and easier accessibility for sample ***,we systematically review the biogenesis and biological characteristics of OMSC-EVs,as well as the role of OMsC-EVs in intercellular ***,we discuss the potential therapeutic roles of OMSC-EVs in oral and systemic *** highlight the current challenges and future directions of OMSC-EVs to focus more attention on clinical *** aim to provide valuable insights for the explorative clinical application of OMSC-EVs.

Osteosarcoma is a differentiation-deficient disease,and despite the unique advan-tages and great potential of differentiation therapy,there are only a few known differentia-tion inducers,and little research has been done on their *** differentiation is associated with an increase in mitochondrial content and *** metabolism of some tu-mor cells is characterized by impaired oxidative phosphorylation,as well as up-regulation of aerobic glycolysis and pentose phosphate ***-containing zipper and EF-hand transmembrane protein 1(LETM1)is involved in the maintenance of mitochondrial morphology and is closely associated with tumorigenesis and progression,as well as cancer cell *** found that MG63 and 143B osteosarcoma cells overexpress LETM1 and exhibit abnormalities in mitochondrial structure and *** of LETM1 partially restored the mitochon-drial structure and function,inhibited the pentose phosphate pathway,promoted oxidative phosphorylation,and led to osteogenic *** also inhibited spheroid cell forma-tion,proliferation,migration,and invasion in an in vitro *** LETM1 was knocked down in vivo,there was reduced tumor formation and lung *** data suggest that mitochondria are aberrant in LETM1-overexpressing osteosarcoma cells,and knockdown of LETM1 partially restores the mitochondrial structure and function,inhibits the pentose phosphate pathway,promotes oxidative phosphorylation,and increases osteogenic differentiation,thereby reducing malignant biological behavior of the cells.

We have previously shown the neuroprotective and pro-neurogenic activity of microneurotrophin BNN-20 in the substantia nigra of the“weaver”mouse,a model of progressive nigrostriatal ***,we extended our investigation in two clinically-relevant ***,we assessed the effects of BNN-20 on human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural progenitor cells and neurons derived from healthy and parkinsonian ***,we assessed if BNN-20 can boost the outcome of mouse neural progenitor cell intranigral transplantations in weaver mice,at late stages of *** found that BNN-20 has limited direct effects on cultured human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural progenitor cells,marginally enhancing their differentiation towards neurons and partially reversing the pathological phenotype of dopaminergic neurons generated from parkinsonian *** agreement,we found no effects of BNN-20 on the mouse neural progenitor cells grafted in the substantia nigra of weaver ***,the graft strongly induced an endogenous neurogenic response throughout the midbrain,which was significantly enhanced by the administration of microneurotrophin *** results provide straightforward evidence of the existence of an endogenous midbrain neurogenic system that can be specifically strengthened by ***,the lack of major similar activity on cultured human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural progenitors and their progeny reveals the in vivo specificity of the aforementioned pro-neurogenic effect.

Maize develops separate ear and tassel inflorescences with initially similar morphology but ultimately different architecture and *** detailed regulatory mechanisms underlying these changes still remain largely *** this study,through analyzing the time-course meristem transcriptomes and floret single-cell transcriptomes of ear and tassel,we revealed the regulatory dynamics and pathways underlying inflorescence development and sex *** identified 16 diverse gene clusters with differential spatiotemporal expression patterns and revealed biased regulation of redox,programmed cell death,and hormone signals during meristem differentiation between ear and ***,based on their dynamic expression patterns,we revealed the roles of two RNA-binding proteins in regulating inflorescence meristem activity and axillary meristem ***,using the transcriptional profiles of 53910 single cells,we uncovered the cellular heterogeneity between ear and tassel *** found that multiple signals associatedwith either enhancedcell death or reduced growth are responsiblefortassel pistil suppression,while part of the gibberellic acid signal may act non-cell-autonomously to regulate ear stamen arrest during sex *** further showed that the pistil-protection gene SILKLESS 1(SK1)functions antagonistically to the known pistil-suppression genes through regulating common molecular pathways,and constructed a regulatory network for pistil-fate ***,our study provides a deep understanding of the regulatory mechanisms underlying inflorescence development and sex differentiation in maize,laying the foundation for identifying new regulators and pathways for maize hybrid breeding and improvement.

Sex differences are ubiquitous in human development, aging and disease. For example, the overwhelming majority of non-reproductive system cancers are more common in males(Mauvais-Jarvis et al., 2020), while autoimmune diseases are more common in females. Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease featured by patches on the *** is caused by malfunction of immune cells and keratinocytes with inflammation as one of its key ***(API)is a natural flavonoid with anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory ***,we speculated that API can ameliorate psoriasis,and determined its effect on the development of psoriasis by using imiquimod(IMQ)-induced psoriasis mouse *** results showed that API attenuated IMQ-induced phenotypic changes,such as erythema,scaling and epidermal thickening,and improved splenic *** differentiation of immune cells was restored in API-treated ***,we revealed that API is a key regulator of signal transducer activator of transcription 3(STAT3).API regulated immune responses by reducing interleukin-23(IL-23)/STAT3/IL-17A ***,it suppressed IMQ-caused cell hyperproliferation by inactivating STAT3 through regulation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 and nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)***,API reduced expression of inflammatory cytokines through inactivation of NF-κ*** together,our study demonstrates that API can ameliorate psoriasis and may be considered as a strategy for psoriasis treatment.
