Gut-liver-brain axis is a three-way highway of information interaction system among the gastrointestinal tract,liver,and nervous *** the past few decades,breakthrough progress has been made in the gut liver brain axis,mainly through understanding its formation mechanism and increasing treatment *** this review,we discuss various complex networks including barrier permeability,gut hormones,gut microbial metabolites,vagus nerve,neurotransmitters,immunity,brain toxic metabolites,β-amyloid(Aβ)metabolism,and epigenetic regulation in the gut-liver-brain *** therapies containing antibiotics,probiotics,prebiotics,synbiotics,fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT),polyphenols,low FODMAP diet and nanotechnology application regulate the gut liver brain ***,some special treatments targeting gut-liver axis include farnesoid X receptor(FXR)agonists,takeda G protein-coupled receptor 5(TGR5)agonists,glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1)receptor antagonists and fibroblast growth factor 19(FGF19)*** gut-brain axis embraces cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT),antidepressants and tryptophan metabolism-related *** liver-brain axis contains epigenetic regulation and Aβmetabolism-related *** the future,a better understanding of gut-liver-brain axis interactions will promote the development of novel preventative strategies and the discovery of precise therapeutic targets in multiple diseases.

Peptide-drug conjugates have achieved considerable development and application as a novel strategy for targeted delivery of anticancer drugs. Bioactive peptides induced calcium deposition can irreversibly assist inhibition of tumors. However, active regulation of calcium level through signal transduction of bioactive substances has not been reported yet. In this study, novel neuropeptide-doxorubicin conjugates(NP-DOX) with lysosome-specific acid response were described for neuropeptide Y_1 receptor(Y_1R)-overexpressed triple-negative breast cancer. The delivery mechanism of NP-DOX was clarified that diverse pathways were involved, including intracellular and intercellular transport. Importantly, up-regulation of Y_1 R-mediated intracellular calcium level via second messenger inositol triphosphate was presented in NP-DOX treated MDA-MB-231 cells. In vivo antitumor efficacy demonstrated that NP-DOX showed less organ toxicity and enhanced tumor inhibition benefited from its controlled release and Y_1R-mediated calcium deposition, compared with free DOX. This bioconjugate is a proof-of-concept confirming that neuropeptide-mediated control of signaling responses in neuropeptide-drug conjugates enables great potential for further applications in tumor chemotherapy.

Alzheimer's disease(AD)is the leading cause of dementia in older individuals and is an escalating challenge to global public *** therapy of AD is one of the well-funded areas;however,little progress has been made due to the complex *** evidence has demonstrated that modifying risk factors and lifestyle may prevent or delay the incidence of AD by 40%,which suggests that the management should pivot from single pharmacotherapy toward a multipronged approach because AD is a complex and multifaceted ***,the gut-microbiota-brain axis has gained tremendous traction in the pathogenesis of AD through bidirectional communication with multiple neural,immune,and metabolic pathways,providing new insights into novel therapeutic *** nutrition is an important and profound environmental factor that influences the composition and function of the *** nutrition for Dementia Prevention Working Group recently found that dietary nutrition can affect cognition in AD-related dementia directly or indirectly through complex interactions of behavioral,genetic,systemic,and brain ***,considering the multiple etiologies of AD,nutrition represents a multidimensional factor that has a profound effect on AD onset and ***,mechanistically,the effect of nutrition on AD is uncertain;therefore,optimal strategies or the timing of nutritional intervention to prevent or treat AD has not been ***,this review summarizes the current state of knowledge concerning nutritional disorders,AD patient and caregiver burden,and the roles of nutrition in the pathophysiology of *** aim to emphasize knowledge gaps to provide direction for future research and to establish optimal nutrition-based intervention strategies for AD.

Malnutrition is a common comorbidity among patients with ***,no nutrition-screening tool has been recognized in this population.A quick and easy screening tool for nutrition with high sensitivity and easy-to-use is *** on the previous 25 nutrition-screening tools,the Delphi method was made by the members of the Chinese Society of nutritional Oncology to choose the most useful item from each *** to these results,we built a nutrition-screening tool named age,intake,weight,and walking(AIWW).Malnutrition was defined based on the scored patient-generated subjective global assessment(PG-SGA).Concurrent validity was evaluated using the Kendall tau coefficient and kappa consistency between the malnutrition risks of AIWW,nutritional risk screening 2002(NRS-2002),and malnutrition screening tool(MST).Clinical benefit was calculated by the decision curve analysis(DCA),integrated discrimination improvement(IDI),and continuous net reclassification improvement(c NRI).A total of 11,360 patients(male,n=6,024(53.0%)were included in the final study cohort,and 6,363 patients had malnutrition based on *** on AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST,7,545,3,469,and1,840 patients were at risk of malnutrition,*** sensitivities of AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST risks were 0.910,0.531,and 0.285,and the specificities were 0.768,0.946,and *** Kendall tau coefficients of AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST risks were 0.588,0.501,and 0.326,*** area under the curve of AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST risks were0.785,0.739,and 0.630,*** IDI,c NRI,and DCA showed that AIWW is non-inferior to NRS-2002(IDI:0.002(-0.009,0.013),c NRI:-0.015(-0.049,0.020)).AIWW scores can also predict the survival of patients with *** missed diagnosis rates of AIWW,NRS-2002,and MST were 0.09%,49.0%,and 73.2%,*** showed a better nutritionscreening effect than NRS-2002 and MST for patients with cancer and could be recommended as an alternative nutritionscreening tool

The recently emerging bismuth oxyhalide(BiOX)nanomaterials are promising indirect band gap photosensitizer for ultraviolet(UV)light-triggered phototherapy due to their unique layered nanosheet ***,the low absorption and poor photothermal conversion efficiency have always impeded their further applications in cancer clinical ***,BiOCl rich in oxygen vacancies has been reported to have fullspectrum absorption properties,making it possible to achieve photothermal property under near-infrared *** 808nm irradiation,the photothermal conversion efficiency of black BiOCl nanosheets(BBNs)is up to 40%.BBNs@PEG can effectively clear primary subcutaneous tumors and prevent recurrence,achieving good synergistic treatment *** results not only broke the limitation of UV on the BiOCl material and provided a good template for other semiconductor materials,but also represent a promising approach to fabricate BBN@PEG a novel,potent and multifunctional theranostic platform for precise photothermal therapy and prognostic evaluation.

The Efficacy of a Formula Food for Preventing Postoperative Recurrence in a Tumor Dormancy Model
