Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-Cov-2)is still threatening the human life and society throughout the *** those critically ill patients,mechanical ventilation(MV)is essential to provide life support during ***,both the virus infection and MV disrupt the balance between secretion and elimination of airway mucus and lead to mucus accumulation in the *** examination verified that the lungs in patients died of COVID-19 are indeed filled with sticky mucus,suggesting a great need to improve airway mucus clearance in critically ill COVID-19 ***,it may be helpful to comprehensively review the current understanding regarding the changes of biochemical and rheological features of airway mucus associated with the disease,as well as the physiological principles and algorithm to decide airway clearance techniques suitable for the critically ill COVID-19 *** on these considerations,optimized strategies may be developed to eliminate the airway mucus accumulated in the airways of critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Developing efficient dual-phase emission emitters upon organoboron luminophores remains a formidable challenge due to the ubiquitous self-absorption and deleterious π-π interactions from aromatic ***, a new family of benzothiazole-enolate-based organoboron luminophores(HN1-4) with effective dual-phase emission was constructed. HN4 showed almost the highest quantum yield(QY) among this type of compound so far. The three-ring-fused rigid skeleton and moderate intramolecular charge transfer(ICT) effect ensured that HN4 could give rise to extremely strong emission in any solution(QY up to 99%). X-ray crystallographic analysis showed that the twisted core structure constructed by the boronic coordination of two penta-fluorobenzene of HN4 was responsible for intense emission in the solid state(QY up to 68%). Besides, HN4 exhibited a unique response to mechanical force accompanied by a reversible change of the QY. We believe that this strategy provides beneficial inspiration and methodology to design materials with high emissive quantum yield that can be used in a variety of luminescent events.

A modified scar model with controlled tension on secondary wound healing in mice

Pathological scars might cause a distorted appearance and restricted mobility,and the study of scar pathophysiology has been hindered by the absence of a reliable *** this study,we introduce a model with a modified device to induce controlled tension on a wound healing by secondary intention to overcome the shortcomings of the model generated by Aarabi et *** investigated and recommend an induction of 0.1 N/mm^(2) tension on day 7 for 14 days to mimic the characteristics of human scars.A 3.5-fold increase in scar tissue and a 2-fold increase in collagen production were induced by the modified ***,the modified method increased scar ***,no significant difference was found in cell density between the two *** modified procedure significantly increased scar tissue,which could be used for further cellular and biomolecular *** mechanical force applied to the wound became measurable and *** method is more convenient for researchers to observe in realtime and for providing timely adjustments of the tension used in this modified model.

Background:The stromal vascular fraction(SVF),a cluster of stem and progenitor cells isolated from adipose tissue,holds significant promise for application in regenerative ***,the existing methods for SVF isolation are time-consuming and ***,in this study,we explored a new method of SVF extrac-tion-ultrasound-assisted SVF isolation(USASI)-and compared the viability and characteristics of SVF isolated using different ***:SVF extraction methods using different combinations of ultrasound power,ultrasound time,collagenase dosage,and collagenase digestion time were compared with those of the control group(collagenase digestion method).The cell yield and vitality of the SVF were evaluated via cell counting and trypan blue *** cell components and immunophenotypes of freshly isolated SVF were analyzed using flow *** prolifer-ative capacity and differentiation potential of the SVF were also ***:Ultrasonication at 95 W-20 kHz for 30 s followed by digestion with 0.15%collagenase for 30 min was identified as the most suitable parameter for the USASI method in isolating SVF,as recommended based on the evaluation of various tested *** USASI method significantly reduced the collagenase dosage and shortened the digestion *** to the collagenase digestion method,the USASI method had a higher cell yield and cell viability,with no adverse effects on cell components,proliferative capacity,or multipotential differentiation ***:With reduced processing time,lower collagenase dosage,and increased cell yield without impairing the viability and characteristics of SVF,USASI holds the potential to emerge as a time-saving and cost-effective method for future clinical applications.

During embryonic morphogenesis, wound repair and cancer invasion, cells often migrate collectively via tight cell-cell junctions, a process named collective migration. During such migration, cells move as coherent groups, large cell sheets, strands or tubes rather than individually. One unexpected finding regarding collective cell migration is that being a "multicellular structure" enables cells to better respond to chemical and physical cues, when compared with isolated cells. This is important because epithelial cells heal wounds via the migration of large sheets of cells with tight intercellular connections. Recent studies have gained some mechanistic insights that will benefit the clinical understanding of wound healing in general. In this review, we will briefly introduce the role of collective cell migration in wound healing, regeneration and cancer invasion and discuss its underlying mechanisms as well as implications for wound healing.

During their life spans,the cells and tissues in the bodies are always exposed to the complex stimulus derived from mechanical *** Cells(DCs) are the powerful antigen presenting cells as now known,which plays an important role in initiation and amplifying immune response against *** performing immune functions,DCs inevitably undergo various mechanic stimulations derived from tissues,organs and extracellular matrix(ECM) et ***,the cell biological behaviors of traditional 2D DCs culture on plastic bottom could differ with those of on 2D or in 3D ECM microenvironment in vivo,which could lead us to misunderstand their biological functions in ***,the responses of DCs to mechanical force-derived different dimensions ECM are still *** the present study,the effects of soft fibrin gels with different dimensions(2D,3D) on the vitalities and apoptosis,morphologies,cytoskeletons,elastic moduli,immune functions,immune-associated surface molecules and cytokines of DCs were investigated from the viewpoints of biophysics and *** results showed that the morphology of DCs displayed marked differences,the cytoskeleton and nuclear of cells were remodeled,there was no effect on DCs apoptosis,moreover,the capabilities of antigen acquiring of immature DCs(imDCs) and inducing T cell proliferation of mature DCs(mDCs) were respectively down-regulated and up-regulated,the elastic moduli of DCs were also significantly changed,the expression levels of immune-associated phenotypes including CD11 c,CD54,CD80,CD86,CCR7,HLA-DR and cytokines including IL-12,IL-18,IL-1β were down-or up-regulated respectively,which was inferred that DCs could response to soft fibrins with different dimensions and the physical factors could affect the immune function of DCs,supporting the perspectives of immuno-mechanobiology or ***’s most important for understanding the biological behaviors and immune functions of DCs as well as improving the cl
