This study was designed to confirm the protective effect of intestinal ischemic postconditioning(IPo) protects against intestinal ischemia-reperfusion(ⅡR)-induced acute kidney injury(AKI) and to elucidate the role of Nrf2/HO-l signal pathway in renal *** we show that IPo significantly attenuated IIR-induced AKI,suppressed oxidative stress and systemic inflammatory ***,treating IIR-induced AKI with IPo significantly induced heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) and phosphorylation of nuclear factor-erythroid 2 related factor 2(Nrf2).However,Brusatol,a potent inhibitor of Nrf2,significantly reversed the protective effects of IPo against IIR-induced renal damage and ROS *** experiments revealed that t-BHQ,an activator of Nrf2,could play the similar protective effect as IPo on IIR-induced AKI,suggesting that the IPo protected renal against IIR-induced injury through the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.

Influence of cromolyn sodium and compound 48/80 administered prior to and after reperfusion on the third day＇s survival rate in a rat intestinal ischemia model

intestinal ischemia occurs in a wide variety of clinical manifestations. The gut barrier is broken down by bacterial translocation after small intestinal ischemia reperfusion injury （IIRI）, which can result in many clinical consequences, even death. The intestinal mucosal mast cells （IMMCs） serve as a unique cellular source of large amounts of vasoactive mediators, and they can influence local tissue reactions. We and others have previously shown that IIRI could activate IMMCs, make them degranulate and release a mass of inflammatory mediators, which in turn aggravate IIRI.
