In order to improve the healing performance and increase the service life of the polymer matrix composites, microcapsules were prepared by interracial polymerization process with urea formaldehyde resin and epoxy resin E-51 as the wall material and core material separately. The effects of core/shell mass ratio and emulsifier on the distribution, topography and encapsulation rate of microcapsules were investigated. By optimizing the conditions, microcapsules with little particle size, well dispersion and compact surface were prepared. The distribution, topography, stability and compositions of the microcapsules were characterized using Nano-2s, optical microscope, scanning electron microscopy, thermal analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The osmosis performance of the microcapsules was evaluated. The experimental results showed that the ratio of core/shell materials （1：1） and 1% DBS as emulsifier were optimum preparation conditions and the encapsulation rate was 62.5%. The microcapsules can be synthesized successfully with mean diameter 548.6 nm and exhibit a good chemical stability below 225 ℃. The FTIR result indicated that urea-formaldehyde resin was formed and the core materials were successfully encapsulated in urea-formaldehyde shell. Osmosis performance evaluation showed that the microcapsules were well coated and slowly osmosed.

epoxy resin was used to modify polybutylene lized methyl methacrylate-butadiene（MB-g-GMA） blend. terephthalate（PBT） and glycidyl methacrylate functiona- Results show that MB-g-GMA dispersed in PBT matrix uniformly and PBT/MB-g-GMA/epoxy blends reveal good compatibility. However, the added epoxy resin restricted the mobility of PBT macromolecular chains during the growth process of the crystal, which reduced the final crystallinity of PBT. The PBT/MB-g-GMA blend containing 1%（mass fraction） epoxy resin exhibited good mechanical properties. For example, the notched impact strength of the PBT/MB-g-GMA blend with 1%（mass fraction） epoxy resin was about 2 times that of PBT/MB-g-GMA blend. Sanning electron microscope（SEM） results show that the shear yielding of the PBT matrix and the cavitations of rubber particles were the major toughening mechanisms. The chemical reaction between PBT and epoxy resin induced the high complex viscosity and storage modulus of PBT/MB-g-GMA blend.

Montmorillonite（MMT） was directly modified with hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide. The interlayer spacing of the organophilic montmorillonite（organo-MMT） corresponding to the d（001） plane peak was 2.21 nm The influences of the content of organo-MMT and mixing conditions including mixing temperature and mixing time on the intercalation and exfoliation structures of MMT/epoxy resin composites were investigated by wide X-ray diffraction（WXRD）. The X-ray patterns reveal that organo-MMT was intercalated by the epoxy resin during mixing process. Only under certain mixing conditions, could the exfoliation nanocomposites be formed. The mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were measured. The results indicate that the composites have better mechanical properties and higher Tg than those of the pristine epoxy resin.

Microgel-epoxy resin two-phase polymers were prepared by in situ copolymerization of ethylenic monomers with unsaturated polyesters. The choice of monomers and the effect of monomer concentration on microgel particle size were discussed. Agglomeration of particles played a significant role in the early stage of polymerization. The microgel dispersion in epoxy resin was stable after the finish of polymerization. Upon curing the particles remained well dispersed.

Diglycidyl-4,5-epoxycyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylate(TDE-85)/methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride (MeTHPA) epoxy resin was modified with polyurethane(PU) and the interpenetrating polymer networks(IPNs) of PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA resin were prepared. The structural characteristics and properties of PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA resin were investigated by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectrum,emission scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and thermogravimetry(TG). The results indicate that epoxy polymer network (Ⅰ) and polyurethane polymer network (Ⅱ) of the modified resin can be obtained and the networks (Ⅰ) and (Ⅱ) interpenetrate and tangle highly each other at the phase interface. The micro morphology presents heterogeneous structure. The integrative properties of PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA epoxy resin are improved obviously. The PU-modified TDE-85/ MeTHPA resin's tensile strength reaches 69.39 MPa,the impact strength reaches 23.56 kJ/m,the temperature for the system to lose 1% mass (t1%) is 300 ℃,and that for the system to lose 50% mass (t50%) is 378 ℃. Compared with those of TDE-85/MeTHPA resin,the tensile strength,impact strength,t1% and t50% of the PU-modified resin increases by 48%,115%,30 ℃,11 ℃,respectively. The PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA resin has the structure characteristics and properties of interpenetrating polymer networks.

epoxy resin(EP)has been widely utilized in electrical equipment and electronic devices due to its fascinating electric,thermal,and mechanical ***,the complex insulation structures of modern power devices in high-voltage direct current systems pose several challenges for EP-based *** most significant among these challenges is the need for EP to stably operate under greater electric fields,requiring superior breakdown *** paper summarizes the key factors influencing the breakdown strength of EP and reviews reported methods for enhancing this *** the limitations of existing approaches,we propose that the emerging technology of molecule design offers a potentially optimal solution for developing EP with enhanced breakdown ***,we anticipate the future development direction of EP with satisfactory insulation *** believe that enhancing the breakdown theory of solid dielectrics,exploring new research and development methodologies,and creating environmentally friendly EP with high performance are primary focus *** hope that this paper will offer guidance and support for the future development of EP with superior breakdown strength,proving valuable in advancing EP-based dielectrics.

Flame-retardant mechanism of magnesium oxychloride （M OC） in EP was in-vestigated by limiting oxygen index （LOI）, XRD, SEM, TG-DTG and DSC. The results show that MOC performed well as an inorganic flame-retardant in EP. When the content of MOC is 50%, the LOI of EP reaches 29.6% and mass of residual char reaches 9.6%. The flame retarde mechanism of MOC is due to the synergies of diluting, cooling, catalyzing char forming and obstructing effects.

Bio-based epoxy thermoset prepared from renewable biomass raw materials can alleviate fossil energy crisis and reduce environmental pollution,which satisfies the needs of sustainable social *** this study,a bio-based epoxy thermoset precursor(MGOL-EP) was synthesized from a naturally occurring magnolol through a facile and efficient one-step *** the fully bio-based epoxy thermoset(MGOL-EP-SC) was obtained by self-curing without adding any other ***-EP-SC revealed an extremely high glass-transition temperature(T_(g)) of 265℃ and char yield of 53.2%(in N;),which were at the highest level among the fully bio-based epoxy thermosets reported so *** addition,when the MGOL-EP was cured with 4,4’-methylenedianiline(DDM),T_(g)of the MGOL-EP/DDM was decreased by 61℃ and the other comprehensive performance had also been decreased,which was due to a reduction in biphenyl structure content and cross-linking density by adding the external curing ***,the MGOL-EP-SC presented certain killing rate(48.4%) to Staphylococcus *** findings provide a new design strategy for engineering high-performance and functional epoxy thermoset with high biomass content.

Diglycidyl 4,5-epoxy tetrahydro phthalate/methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride （TDE-85/MeTHPA） epoxy resin modified by polyurethane （PU） was prepared with 1,4-butanediol （1,4-BDO）, trimethylol propane （TMP） and polyurethane prepolymer synthesized by polypropylene glycol and toluene diisocynate. Chemical reaction and curing mechanism of this system were discussed by incorporating the results of infra spectrum analysis. The results indicate that the epoxy polymeric network I is obtained by the curing reaction between TDE-85 and MeTHPA, while the PU polymeric network II is obtained by the chain-extended and crosslinking reaction between 1,4-BDO, TMP and polyurethane prepolymer（PUP）. The graft chemical bonds are formed between polymer networks I and II that therefore increase the degree of blend and compatibility between epoxy polymer and PU.
