This paper proposes an efficient PSP-based model for cross-coupled metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors(MOSFETs) with optimized layout in the voltage controlled oscillator(VCO).The model employs a PSP charge model to characterize the bias-dependent extrinsic capacitance instead of numerical functions with strong non-linearity.The simulation convergence is greatly improved by this method.An original scheme is developed to extract the parameters of the PSP charge model based on S-parameters measurement.The interconnection parasitics of the cross-coupled MOSFETs are modeled based on vector fitting.The model is verified with an LC VCO design,and exhibits excellent convergence during simulation.The results show improvements as high as 60.5% and 61.8% in simulation efficiency and accuracy,respectively,indicating that the proposed model better characterizes optimized cross-coupled MOSFETs in advanced radio frequency(RF) circuit design.

In conventional cross-coupled controller design,the method usually ignored the inherent characteristic of time-vary- ing parameters and model uncertainties in system.In this paper,a cross-coupled controller(CCC)using an H~∞control scheme has been proposed to reduce the contouring error for an X-Y table.Furthermore,the proposed CCC design,which is a typical Multi- Input Multi-Output(MIMO)system with linear time varying(LTV)characteristics,has been verified as being internally stable. The simulations are carried on Matlab simulink to verify the proposed method,and the results showed that the proposed method can reduce the contouring error significantly compared with the conventional one.

An adjustable mixer for surface acoustic wave( SAW)-less radio frequency( RF) front-end is presented in this paper. Through changing the bias voltage,the presented mixer with reconfigurable voltage conversion gain( VCG) is suitable for multi-mode multi-standard( MMMS) applications. An equivalent local oscillator( LO) frequency-tunable high-Q band-pass filter( BPF) at low noise amplifier( LNA) output is used to reject the out-of-band interference signals. Base-band( BB) capacitor of the mixer is variable to obtain 15 kinds of intermediate frequency( IF) bandwidth( BW). The proposed passive mixer with LNA is implemented in TSMC 0. 18μm RF CMOS process and operates from 0. 5 to 2. 5 GHz with measured maximum out-of-band rejection larger than 40 d B. The measured VCG of the front-end can be changed from 5 to 17 d B; the maximum input intercept point( IIP3) is0 d Bm and the minimum noise figure( NF) is 3. 7 d B. The chip occupies an area of 0. 44 mm^2 including pads.

A novel tri-band bandpass filter （BPF） is proposed by using cross-coupled stepped impedance resonators （SIRs）, which can operate at 2.4 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 5.25 GHz respectively. In engineering application, it is suitable for wireless local area network （WLAN） and worldwide interoperability for microwave access （WiMAX）. In addition, the passband of this filter can be easily controlled by changing the electrical parameters of the resonators. So it is helpful to the selection of passband in engineering applications. For in-depth analysis, the equivalent circuit of the filter is also proposed. At last, it shows that the measured results agree well with the simulated results. The insertion loss of the filter within each passband is less than 1.9 dB, meanwhile two transmission zeros are obtained which can be able to meet the engineering requirements.

A differential cross-coupled regulated cascode(RGC)transimpedance amplifier(TIA)is proposed. The theory of multi-stage common-source(CS) configuration as an auxiliary amplifier to enhance the bandwidth and output impedance of RGC topology is analyzed. Additionally, negative Miller capacitance and shunt active inductor compensation are exploited to further expand the bandwidth. The proposed RGC TIA is simulated based on UMC 0.18 μm standard CMOS process. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed TIA has a high transimpedance of 60.5 d B?, and a-3 d B bandwidth of 5.4 GHz is achieved for 0.5 p F input capacitance. The average equivalent input noise current spectral density is about 20 p A/Hz^(1/2) in the interested frequency, and the TIA consumes 20 m W DC power under 1.8 V supply voltage. The voltage swing is 460 m V pp, and the saturation input current is 500 μA.
