On the simple continuously variable transmission （CVT） driveline model, the design of adaptive fuzzy control system for CVT vehicle is presented. The adaptive fuzzy control system consists of a scaling factor self-tuning fuzzy-PI throttle controller, and a hybrid fuzzy-PID CVT ratio and brake controller. The presented adaptive fuzzy control strategy is vehicle model independent, which depends only on the instantaneous vehicle states, but does not depend on vehicle parameters. So it has good robustness against uncertain vehicle parameters and exogenous load disturbance. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive fuzzy strategy has good adaptability and practicality value.

In this paper,a survey of adaptive fuzzy for uncertain nonlinear systems is *** first part introduces adaptive fuzzy control emergence and some typical control methods for uncertain nonlinear systems with matching conditions(single-input singleoutput systems,multi-input multi-output systems).The last part presents the adaptive fuzzy state feedback and output-feedback control methods for uncertain nonlinear systems with non-matching conditions based on the backstepping technique,including strictfeedback systems,pure-feedback systems and non-strict-feedback systems.

To control the robot and track the designed trajectory with uncertain disturbances in a specified precision range, an adaptive fuzzy control scheme for the robot arm manipulator is discussed. The controller output error method （COEM） is used to design the adaptive fuzzy controller. A few or all of the parameters of the controller are adjusted by using the gradient descent algorithm to minimize the output error. COEM is adopted in the adaptive control system for the robot arm manipulator with 5-DOF. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the method and the real time adjustment of the parameters.

An indirect adaptive fuzzy control scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear systems with input constraint and unknown control direction. In this scheme, the fuzzy systems are used to proximate unknown nonlinear functions, a modified control design framework is presented for preventing the presence of input constraint from destroying the learning capabilities of the fuzzy systems, and the dynamic robustness term is used to compensate the approximation errors. The proposed design scheme guarantees that all the signals in the resulting closed-loop system are bounded, and the tracking error converges to the small neighborhood of the origin. Simulation results indicate the effectiveness of this scheme.

An indirect adaptive fuzzy control scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear discrete-time systems. In this method, two fuzzy logic systems are used to approximate the unknown functions, and the parameters of membership functions in fuzzy logic systems are adjusted according to adaptive laws for the purpose of controlling the plant to track a reference trajectory. It is proved that the scheme can not only guarantee the boundedness of the input and output of the closed-loop system, but also make the tracking error converge to a small neighborhood of the origin. Simulation results indicate the effectiveness of this scheme.

Flatness is an important equality indicator of strip rolling and roll subsectional cooling is an important method for flatness control, especially for high order flatness component control. It is very hard to build the mathematic model of roll subsectional cooling because of its characteristics of nonlinearity, hysteresis quality and strong coupling, etc. In order to improve the control effect of roll subsectional cooling control model, the roll subsectional cooling adaptive fuzzy control model based on fuzzy model inversion is built according to the separation principle of fuzzy form on the basis of the conventional fuzzy control model, where the parameters of the fuzzy controller can be dynamically regulated according to the change of rolling conditions. Simulation experiment results of the model indicate that the proposed roll subsectional cooling adaptive fuzzy control model based on fuzzy model inversion has high control precision and rapid response speed with strong self-learning and anti-interference capacity and a new method is provided for high precision flatness control.

An observer-based adaptive fuzzy control is presented for a class of nonlinear systems with unknown time delays. The state observer is first designed, and then the controller is designed via the adaptive fuzzy control method based on the observed states. Both the designed observer and controller are independent of time delays. Using an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the uncertainty of the unknown time delay is compensated, and then the fuzzy logic system in Mamdani type is utilized to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, the constructed observer-based controller and the closed-loop system are proved to be asymptotically stable. The designed control law is independent of the time delays and has a simple form with only one adaptive parameter vector, which is to be updated on-line. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

This paper studies the robust adaptive fuzzy cooperative tracking control problem for a class of uncertain non-linear multi-agent systems with multiple time delays and dead-zone ***,based on the implicit function theorem,the non-affine form of the multi-agent system can be converted into the corresponding affine ***,using the local state information of neighbouring agents,a novel adaptive fuzzy cooperative tracking controller with the corresponding parameter-updated laws is designed based on undirected communication ***,it is shown that all the closed-loop signals are bounded,and all follower nodes asymptotically tracking to the leader can be achieved in the presence of time-delayed perturbations and unknown dead-zone ***,simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive control scheme.
