The paper consists in an in-depth semiotic analysis of the spatiality of present-day online teaching as compared with that of the traditional *** spatiality,the paper contends,cannot be properly digitalized,because it is strictly dependent on *** embodied spatiality of a classroom,it is argued,is nevertheless fundamental to bring about the ritual transfiguration that underpins the didactic experience and its socio-cultural ***,the urgent need to rethink digital teaching environments in relation to these crucial lacks,which only semiotics,with its specific attention to non-verbal elements of communication—including spatiality—is fully equipped to detect.

teaching and learning-related activities have embraced digital technology especially,with the current global pandemic restrictions pervaded during the last two *** the other hand,most of the academic and professional presentations are conducted using online *** the presenter-audience interaction is hindered to a certain extent in an online case in contrary to face-to-face where real-time writing is beneficial when sketching is *** use of digital pens and pads is a solution for such instances,though the cost of acquiring such hardware is *** solutions are essential as affordability is *** this study,a real-time user-friendly,innovative drawing system is developed to address the issues related to the problems confronted with online *** paper presents the development of an algorithm using Hand Landmark Detection,which replaces chalks,markers and regular ballpoint pens used in conventional communication and presentation,with online *** proposed application in this study is acquired by Python and OpenCV *** letters or the sketches drawn in the air were taken straight to the computer screen by this *** proposed algorithm continuously identifies the Hand Landmark using the images fed by the web camera,and text or drawing patterns are displayed on the screen according to the movements made by Hand Landmark on the image *** developed user interface is also *** the communication of letters and sketches were *** the concept has been developed and tested,with further research the versatility and accuracy of communication can be enhanced.

As professors are subjected to teaching their classes online due to the recent COVID-19, our local Hong Kong students find it difficult to consult their teachers, and ultimately would fail to achieve the intended learning outcomes, especially for practical-based subjects. In this research, students having online classes of a practical-based fabric design subject were encouraged to self-study from Open Educational Resource (OER) materials for a further and better understanding of their subject. Additionally, online materials were developed to improve students’ understanding via skill of digital literacy. Their learning progress was evaluated and compared to the face-to-face version. The majority of students found online classes combined with self-studying OER materials, potentially be a substitute for face-to-face classes. Most of the students further opined different OER videos assisted them without any face-to-face instructions in practical works, to develop new fabric samples from the inspiration. Analysis of test results, and comparison of students’ final grades with different learning modes, supported these phenomena.

Under the online teaching model,the evaluation literacy of college English teachers has become one of the critical factors affecting students’learning effects[1].This study uses a self-compiled questionnaire to investigate the current status of evaluation literacy of college English teachers under the online teaching model from four aspects:evaluation awareness,evaluation knowledge,evaluation ability,and evaluation *** results show that college English teachers’overall evaluation literacy level is relatively high,but there are areas for *** on the survey results,suggestions are put forward to improve teachers’evaluation literacy,such as changing teaching concepts and increasing self-reflection;strengthening training and learning to enhance professional development awareness;conducting cooperative research and emphasizing team strengths.
