Improving cleanliness of 30Cr2Ni4MoV low-pressure rotor steel by CaO-SiO_(2)-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3) slag refining

The optimal composition of a CaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-MgO slag in the ladle furnace refining process was investigated to precisely control the contents of[0]and[Si]and improve the cleanliness of 30Cr2Ni4MoV steel.The iso-[O]lines and iso-[Si] lines of the equilibrium between the CaO-SiO_(2)-Al_(2)O_(3)-MgO refining slag and 30Cr2Ni4MoV steel at 1873 K were calculated by the thermodynamic software FactSage 7.3,and the activities of SiO_(2),Al_(2)O_(3)and CaO in the refining slag were discussed to achieve the optimal composition range of the refining slag.Finally,combined with high-temperature"slag-steel"equilibrium experiments,the effects of different refining slags on the oxygen contents,chemical composi-tions,quantities and sizes of inclusions in steels were studied,and then the thermody namic formation mechanism of MgAl_(2)O_(4) inclusions in 30Cr2Ni4MoV steel was discussed.The results showed that the contents of dissolved[O]nd[Si]in steel can be controlled below 10 × 10^(-6)and 0.05%.respectively;when the slag basicity is above 7.the CaO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio is above I.and the mass fraction of SiO_(2)in the slag docs not cxcced 7%.The chemical composition of the slag has a great influence on the removal and composition of inclusions.The assessed stability phase diagrams of MgO.Al_(2)O_(3)and MgOAl_(2)O_(3) inclusion formation in the Fe-Al-Mg-O system calculated by FactSage 7.3 show good agreement with the experimental results.

Cryptorchidism is one of the most frequent causes of nonobstructive azoospermia(NOA)in adulthood.Although it is well known that spermatogenesis is more impaired in bilateral than in unilateral cryptorchidism,previous studies have only described small cohorts or inhomogeneous population.Consequently,we analyzed a cohort of 225 men with only a history of cryptorchidism as sole etiopathogenetic factor for NOA,and compared testicular sperm extraction(TESE)outcomes between men with bilateral versus unilateral cryptorchidism.Our results show no difference in follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)levels and testicular volumes between men with a history of bilateral cryptorchidism compared to unilateral cryptorchidism(median:21.3 IU I^-1 vs 19.3 IU I^-1,P=0.306;and 7.2 ml vs 7.9 ml,P=0.543,respectively).In addition,sperm retrieval rates were similar(66.2%vs 60.0%,P=0.353).Using multivariate analysis,we have found that only a low inhibin B level(above the assay's detection limit)was positively associated with successful sperm retrieval(P<0.05).Regarding intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcomes,we found that cumulative pregnancy rate and live birth rate per cycle were not statistically different between the two groups(17.4%vs 27.8%,P=0.070;and 16.1%vs 26.4%,P=0.067,respectively).Unexpectedly,there was no significant difference in hormonal profiles(FSH,luteinizing hormone[LH],testosterone,and inhibin B levels)and TESE outcomes between unilateral versus bilateral cryptorchidism.This suggests that a history of unilateral cryptorchidism could reflect a bilateral testicular impairment.Interestingly,inhibin B level might be a predictor of successful TESE.

Structural evolution of non dendritic AlSi7Mg alloy during reheating

The structural evolution of non dendritic AlSi7Mg alloy during reheating in resistance furnace was studied. The alloy ingots were produced by electromagnetic stirring during solidification. It was found that, the Si phase in eutectic dissolves in a way of diffusion toward α phase, its appearance changes from flake to dot like, and tends to be fine and spheroidal with increasing reheating temperature. The thinner the flake, the lower the temperature for the occurrence of this process, and the higher the transforming speed. The eutectic melts partially when Si phase dissolves to some extent, and the morphology and size of primary α phase begin to change. The dendrite and rosette α phases tends to sphericize. The size of the former becomes larger, while the size of the latter reduces to be 1/2～1/4 of the original size. The spheroidal primary α phase has a tendency of grain growth.

Cardiovascular diseases(CVDs)are the main cause of morbidity and mortality in Western society and present an important agerelated risk.With the constant rise in life expectancy,prevalence ofCVD in the population will likely increase further.New therapies,especially in the elderly,are needed to combat CVD.This review is focused on the role of long noncoding RNA(IncRNA)in CVD.RNA sequencing experiments in the past decade showed that most RNA does not code for protein,but many RNAs function as ncRNA.Here,we summarize the recent findings of IncRNA regulation in the diseased heart.The potential use of these RNAs as biomarkers of cardiac disease prediction is also discussed.

Disturbance Observer Based Speed Control of PMSM Using Fractional Order PI Controller

In this paper, fractional order PI(FOPI) control is developed for speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM). Designing the parameters for FOPI controller is a challenging task, especially for nonlinear systems like PMSM.All three PI controllers in the conventional vector controlled speed drive are replaced by FOPI controllers. Design of these FOPI controllers is based on the locally linearized model of PMSM around an operating point. This operating point changes with the load torque. The novelty of the work reported here is in use of non Linear Disturbance Observer(NLDO) to estimate load torque to obtain this new operating point. All three FOPI controllers are then designed adaptively using this new operating point. The scheme is tested on simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK and results are presented.

Extra-intestinal manifestations of non-celiac gluten sensitivity: an expanding paradigm

non celiac gluten sensitivity(NCGS) is a syndrome characterized by a cohort of symptoms related to the ingestion of gluten-containing food in subjects who are not affected by celiac disease(CD) or wheat allergy. The possibility of systemic manifestations in this condition has been suggested by some reports. In most cases they are characterized by vague symptoms such as ‘foggy mind', headache, fatigue, joint and muscle pain, leg or arm numbness even if more specific complaints have been described. NCGS has an immune-related background. Indeed there is a strong evidence that a selective activation of innate immunity may be the trigger for NCGS inflammatory response. The most commonly autoimmune disorders associated to NCGS are Hashimoto thyroiditis, dermatitis herpetiformis, psoriasis and rheumatologic diseases. The predominance of Hashimoto thyroiditis represents an interesting finding, since it has been indirectly confirmed by an Italian study, showing that autoimmune thyroid disease is a risk factor for the evolution towards NCGS in a group of patients with minimal duodenal inflammation. On these bases, an autoimmune stigma in NCGS is strongly supported; it could be a characteristic feature that could help the diagnosis and be simultaneously managed. A possible neurological involvement has been underlined by NCGS association with gluten ataxia, gluten neuropathy and gluten encephalopathy. NCGS patients may show even psychiatric diseases such as depression, anxiety and psychosis. Finally, a link with functional disorders(irritable bowel syndrome and fibromyalgia) is a topic under discussion. In conclusion, the novelty of this matter has generated an expansion of literature data with the unavoidable consequence that some reports are often based on low levels of evidence. Therefore, only studies performed on large samples with the inclusion of control groups will be able to clearly establish whether the large information from the literature regarding extra-intestinal NCGS manifestations could be supported by eviden

This paper focuses on the superiority of organic?inorganic hybrid ion-gel electrolytes for lithiumion batteries(LiBs)over commercial electrolytes,such as 1 M LiPF6 in 1:1 ethylene carbonate(EC):dimethyl carbonate{DMC){1 M LiPF6-EC:DMC},in terms of their flame susceptibility.These ion-gel electrolytes possess ionic liquid monomers,which are confined within the borosilicate or silicate matrices that are ideal for nonflammability.Naked flame tests confirm that the organicinorganic hybrid electrolytes are less susceptible to flames,and these electrolytes do not suffer from a major loss in terms of weight.In addition,the hybrids are self-extinguishable.Therefore,these hybrids are only oxidized when subjected to a flame unlike other commercial electrolytes used in lithium-ion batteries.Supplementary analyses using differential scanning calorimetric studies reveal that the hybrids are glassy until the temperature reaches more than 100℃.The current results are consistent with previously published data on the organic-inorganic hybrids.

Three kinds of horizon-like hypersurface of a uniformly accelerating, non-stationary charged black hole

Three kinds of horizon like hypersurface of a uniformly rectilinearly accelerating, non stationary charged black hole: event horizon, apparent horizon and time like limit surface are studied. The result is that the event horizon is apart from the time like limit surface and the apparent horizon in the case where the black hole is charged, uniformly accelerating and its mass is varying (evaporating and accreting). Some other new results are also given.
