Immunophenotype and Ultrastructure of B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder with Cytoplasmic Projection

To identify the knowledge of rare lymphoproliferative disorder, the clinical and biological features of three kinds of lymphoproliferative disorders with cytoplasmic projections were compared The clinical manifestations, ultrastructure and immunophenotype were analyzed The results showed that hairy cell leukemia (HCL), splenic lymphoma with villous lymphocyte (SLVL) and hairy cell leukemia-variant (HCL-V) had some common characters including splenomegaly, peripheral blood and bone marrow infiltration by villous lymphocyte and B lymphocyte immunophenotype; but these three disorders had specific features respectively It was concluded that overall analysis of clinical and laboratory features might be contributive to the differential diagnosis of these three disorders

A rare presentation of unicentric Castleman's disease in the thigh:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Castleman's disease(CD)is a rare lymphoproliferative,emulating both benign and malignant *** diagnosis of CD is formulated upon the combination of clinical and laboratory criteria and ultimately confirmed by histopathological *** to its rarity,CD presents a challenge in treatment selection,with available options encompassing surgery,chemotherapy,and autologous stem cell ***,studies suggest that surgical resection of the lesion is the most effective treatment modality,especially for unicentric CD(UCD).CASE SUMMARY Here,we describe the case of a 25-year-old woman who presented with painless left thigh swelling for 10 *** had been following a low-fat diet to lose weight and had normal laboratory *** resonance imaging revealed a wellcircumscribed,demarcated cystic lesion located in the left inguinal region with eccentrically positioned signal void vascular structures,measuring 4.3 cm×3 cm×3.2 cm,likely of lymphoid *** patient underwent surgical resection,and the final histopathology showed a vascular proliferation and hyalinization of the vessel walls,along with atretic germinal centers traversed by penetrating vessels,consistent with *** patient was discharged home one day after the procedure in good condition,with a follow-up appointment scheduled in our outpatient *** Although surgical resection is the mainstay for UCD,a multidisciplinary approach is needed due the lack of specific diagnostic features and treatments.

In the recent years,two lymphotropic human gamma-herpesviruses,HHV8/Kaposi’s sarcoma associated herpesvirus has been identified as the causative agents of lymphoproliferative disorders and lymphomas,in complication with immunocompromised status due to the infection human immunodeficient virus(HIV)or immune suppressing therapy after organ *** of the transforming and proliferation promoting genomic products coded by the two herpeviruses causes malignant transformation of the lymphocytes similar with the immortalization process to convert B cells into lymphoblastoid cell lines in *** two herpesviruses are associated with other malignancies than hematopoietic *** and HHV 8play an pathogenic role in the genesis of Kaposi’s sarcoma and leiomyesarcoma,*** suggests that in immune deficient persons,opportunistic tumors other than lymphomas can be caused by the lymphotropic herpesviruses.
