Photobiomodulation:a novel approach to promote trans-differentiation of adipose-derived stem cells into neuronal-like cells

Photobiomodulation,originally used red and near-infrared lasers,can alter cellular *** has been demonstrated that the visible spectrum at 451-540 nm does not necessarily increase cell proliferation,near-infrared light promotes adipose stem cell proliferation and affects adipose stem cell migration,which is necessary for the cells homing to the site of *** this in vitro study,we explored the potential of adipose-derived stem cells to differentiate into neurons for future translational regenerative treatments in neurodegenerative disorders and brain *** investigated the effects of various biological and chemical inducers on trans-differentiation and evaluated the impact of photobiomodulation using 825 nm near-infrared and 525 nm green laser light at 5 J/*** adipose-derived stem cells can be used in autologous grafting and photobiomodulation has been shown to have biostimulatory *** findings reveal that adipose-derived stem cells can indeed trans-differentiate into neuronal cells when exposed to inducers,with pre-induced cells exhibiting higher rates of proliferation and trans-differentiation compared with the control ***,green laser light stimulation led to notable morphological changes indicative of enhanced trans-differentiation,while near-infrared photobiomodulation notably increased the expression of neuronal *** biochemical analysis and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays,we observed marked improvements in viability,proliferation,membrane permeability,and mitochondrial membrane potential,as well as increased protein levels of neuron-specific enolase and ciliary neurotrophic ***,our results demonstrate the efficacy of photobiomodulation in enhancing the trans-differentiation ability of adipose-derived stem cells,offering promising prospects for their use in regenerative medicine for neurodegenerative disorders and brain injuries.

Point-voxel dual transformer for LiDAR 3D object detection

Deep learning for point clouds faces the challenge of their inherent unordered nature， which makes traditional CNN-like methods not directly applicable. However， due to the inherent permutation invariance， transformers provide solutions to unordered points problems faced in LiDAR-based object detection. In this paper， a two-stage LiDAR 3D object detection framework is presented， namely Point-Voxel Dual Transformer (PV-DT3D)， which is a transformer-based method. In the proposed PV-DT3D， point-voxel fusion features are used for proposal refinement. Specifically， in the PV-DT3D， keypoints are sampled from entire point cloud scene and used to encode representative scene features via a proposal-aware voxel set abstraction module. Subsequently， following the generation of proposals by the region proposal networks (RPN)， the internal encoded keypoints are fed into dual transformer encoder-decoder architecture. In 3D object detection， the proposed PV-DT3D is the first to take advantage of both pointwise transformer and channel-wise architecture to capture contextual information from the perspective of spatial and channel dimensions. Experiments conducted on the highly competitive KITTI 3D car detection leaderboard show that， the PV-DT3D achieves superior detection accuracy among state-of-the-art point-voxel-based methods.

Hyperbolic cosine transformer for LiDAR 3D object detection

Recently， Transformer has achieved great success in computer vision. However， it is constrained because the spatial and temporal complexity grows quadratically with the number of large points in 3D object detection applications from point clouds. Previous point-wise methods are suffering from time consumption and limited receptive fields to capture information among points. To address these limitations， we propose the cosh-attention， which reduces the computation complexity of space and time from the quadratic order to linear order with respect to the number of points. In the cosh-attention， the traditional softmax operator is replaced by non-negative ReLU activation and hyperbolic-cosine-based operator with re-weighting mechanism. Then based on the key component， cosh-attention， we present a two-stage hyperbolic cosine transformer (ChTR3D) for 3D object detection from point clouds. It refines proposals by applying cosh-attention in linear computation complexity to encode rich contextual relationships among points. Extensive experiments on the widely used KITTI dataset and Waymo Open Dataset demonstrate that， compared with vanilla attention， the cosh-attention significantly improves the inference speed with competitive performance. Experiment results show that， among two-stage state-of-the-art methods using point-level features to refine proposals， the proposed ChTR3D is the fastest one.

Drone-YOLOv7: small target detection in UAV remote sensing images using YOLOv7-tiny with dynamic head

In the task of detecting targets in unmanned aerial vehicles （UAVs） aerial images， the challenge arises from small size and wide scale span of targets， making their location， extraction and feature distinction difficult. Similar categories are susceptible to confusion. To address these issues， an improved YOLOv7-tiny aerial detection algorithm is proposed. Firstly， to improve the identification of small targets， a small target detection layer is added while removing the maximum target detection layer to enhance the localization ability of small targets and make the model lightweight. Secondly， a CBAM （Convolutional Block Attention Module） attention mechanism is incorporated at the connection between the backbone and neck to focus on the target area and eliminate interference. Additionally， to further enhance the classification and location capabilities of the targets， the detection head is replaced with a dynamic head （DYHead） with a unified channel number to fuse scale， space and task awareness in a single module. Finally， to overcome the difficulty of extracting features， the neck is replaced with a CS-FPN （Cross-Scale Feature Pyramid Network） structure with cross-scale connections to amplify feature fusion. Comparative experiments on the VisDrone2021 dataset show that the proposed model can improve mAP50and mAP0.5:0.95by 8.3% and 6.1%， respectively， compared to the original YOLOv7-tiny model， and significant improvements are also observed on CARPK and SeaDronesSee datasets.

The thermostatted system is a conservative system different from Hamiltonian systems,and has attracted much attention because of its rich and different nonlinear *** report and analyze the multiple equilibria and curve axes of the cluster-shaped conservative flows generated from a generalized thermostatted *** is found that the cluster-shaped structure is reflected in the geometry of the Hamiltonian,such as isosurfaces and local centers,and the shapes of cluster-shaped chaotic flows and invariant tori rely on the isosurfaces determined by initial conditions,while the numbers of clusters are subject to the local centers solved by the Hessian matrix of the ***,the study shows that the cluster-shaped chaotic flows and invariant tori are chained together by curve axes,which are the segments of equilibrium curves of the generalized thermostatted ***,the interesting results are vividly demonstrated by the numerical simulations.

Combustion synthesis, characterization and luminescence properties of barium aluminate phosphor

The blue-green emitting Eu2＋ and Nd3＋ doped polycrystalline barium aluminate （BaAI204：Eu2＋,Nd3＋） phosphor, was prepared by a solution-combustion method at 500 ℃without a post-annealing process. The characteristic variation in the structural and luminescence properties of the as-prepared samples was evaluated with regards to a change in the Ba/A1 molar ratio from 0.1：1 to 1.4：1. The morphologies and the phase structures of the products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, X-ray diffraction （XRD） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, while the optical properties were investigated using ultra-violet （UV） and photoluminescence （PL） spectroscopy, respectively. The XRD and TEM results revealed that the average crystallite size of the BaAl2O4：Eu2＋,Nd3＋ phosphor was about 70 urn. The broad-band UV-excited luminescence of the phosphors was observed at 2max=500 um due to transitions from the 4f^65d1 to the 4f7 configuration of the Eu2＋ ion. The PL results indicated that the main peaks in the emission and excitation spectrum of phosphor particles slightly shifted to the short wavelength due to the changes in the crystal field due to the structure changes caused by the variation in the quantity of the Ba ions in the host lattice.

Analysis of an HIV model with distributed delay and behavior change

We develop and analyze a mathematical model for the transmission dynamics of HIV that accounts for behavioral change. The contact rate is modeled by a decreasing function （response function） of HIV prevalence to reflect a reduction in risky behavior that results from the awareness of individuals to a higher HIV prevalence. The model also includes a distributed delay representing the time needed for individuals to reduce their risky behavior. We study mathematically and numerically the impact of the response function and the distributed delay on the model＇s dynamics. Threshold values for the delay at which the system destabilizes and periodic solutions can arise through Hopf bifurcation are determined.

A heat transfer study was conducted,in the framework of Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD),on a Hot-Wire Chemical Vapour Deposition(HWCVD)reactor chamber to determine a safe deposition distance for atomic hydrogen produced by *** objective of this study was to show the feasibility of using heat transfer simulations in determining a safe deposition distance for deposition of this *** CFD simulations were set-up and solved within the framework of the CFD packages of OpenFOAM namely;snappyHexMesh for mesh generation,buoyantSimpleFoam and rhoSimpleFoam as the solvers and paraView as the post-processing *** a standard set of deposition parameters for the production of atomic hydrogen by HWCVD,plots of the gas temperature in the deposition region were *** these plots,we were able to determine a safe deposition distance in the HWCVD reactor to be in the range between 3 and 4 cm from the filament.

Intercept-resend attack on six-state quantum key distribution over collective-rotation noise channels

We investigate the effect of collective-rotation noise on the security of the six-state quantum key distribution. We study the case where the eavesdropper, Eve, performs an intercept-resend attack on the quantum communication between Alice, the sender, and Bob, the receiver. We first derive the collective-rotation noise model for the six-state protocol and then parameterize the mutual information between Alice and Eve. We then derive quantum bit error rate for three interceptresend attack scenarios. We observe that the six-state protocol is robust against intercept-resend attacks on collective rotation noise channels when the rotation angle is kept within certain bounds.
