Male heterogametic sex determination in Rana dybowskii based on sex-linked molecular markers

Identifying the mechanism for sex determination in amphibians is *** little is known about sex determination mechanisms of Rana dybowskii,a species of importance to evolutionary and conservation *** screened for sex-linked molecular markers in *** in China using target region amplification polymorphism with 2 fixed primers against the sequences of *** found 2 male-linked molecular markers in ***,which were 222 bp and 261 bp *** detection rates of 222 bp marker in males form Xinglong,Huadian,and Dandong were 93.79%,69.64%,and 13.64%,respectively,while the rate in females from Huadian was 27.50%.Besides,the detection rates of 261 bp marker in the above 3 regions were only observed in males at the rate of 93.79%,87.50%,and 32.73%,*** inheritance patterns of sex-linked molecular markers showed that the 2 sex-linked molecular markers were *** to the XY-male parent,progeny from XX-pseudo-male parent possessed lower sex reversal ratio at the same rearing temperature,and the proportion of female froglets from an XX-pseudo-male parent was more than 95%at low rearing temperature(15°C).Our findings suggest that *** displays male heterogamety,and the 2 sex-linked molecular markers may have a guiding significance for the protection and utilization of ***.

Surface cleaned Cu_(x)Pd_(y)alloy:Synthesis and their superior performances in hydrogen evolution reaction and biosensor

High cost and restricted activity of electrocatalysis are the major challenges for hydrogen generation and *** this work,we provided a one-pot synthesis of Cu_(x)Pd_(y)alloy nanoparticles(NPs)with controllable atomic ratio and“clean surface”.Benefiting from the preferable d-band structure,the Cu_(62)Pd_(38)NPs exhibited a lower overpotentials in the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)over the full pH *** the acidic media,Cu_(62)Pd_(38)NPs achieved a low overpotential of 28.12 mV for HER,which was 25.73%of Pd *** the neutral solution,the overpotential by Cu_(62)Pd_(38)NPs is only 41.71%for that by uncleaned CuPd *** alkaline media,the overpotential by Cu_(62)Pd_(38)NPs was declined from 38.01 to 20.20 mV after 720 min yielding hydrogen,which was only 53.14%for the initial *** applied in biosensor,the synergistic effect of Cu and Pd accelerated the kinetics of electrocatalytic process,resulting in an enhanced *** glucose sensor constructed by Cu_(67)Pd_(33)exhibited a wider detection range up to 100.0 *** the sensitivity is 379.4μA/(mM·cm^(2)),which is ca.4.63 and 14.09 folds for that by pure Cu NPs and Pd NPs,*** optimal atomic percent would be conducive to optimize electrocatalytic activity of Cu_(x)Pd_(y)*** volcano plots for Cu_(x)Pd_(y)would open up a new avenue for designing electrocatalysis with rationalized cost and optimized performance.

A study of multi-trapping of tapered-tip single fiber optical tweezers

We develop a pair of tapered-tip single fiber optical tweezers, and study its multi-trapping characteristic. The finite difference time domain method is employed to simulate the trapping force characteristic of this pair of single fiber optical tweezers, and the results show that the number of trapped particles depends on the refractive index and the size of the particles. The trapping force of this pair of tapered-tip single fiber optical tweezers is calibrated by the experimental method, and the experimental results are consistent with the theoretical calculation results. The multi-trapping capability realized by the tapered-tip single fiber optical tweezers will be practical and useful for applications in biomedical research fields.

Cross-Layer Scheduling Design for Multimedia Applications over Cognitive Ad Hoc Networks

In this paper,we study cross-layer scheduling scheme on multimedia application which considers both streaming traffic and data traffic over cognitive ad hoc networks.A cross-layer design is proposed to optimize SU's utility,which is used as an approach to balance the transmission efficiency and heterogeneous traffic in cognitive ad hoc networks.A framework is provided for utility-based optimal subcarrier assignment,power allocation strategy and corresponding modulation scheme,subject to the interference threshold to primary user(PU) and total transmit power *** learning is adopted in subcarrier allocation strategy to avoid collision and alleviate the burden of information exchange on limited common control channel(CCC).In addition,the M/G/l queuing model is also introduced to analyze the expected delay of streaming *** results are given to demonstrate that the proposed scheme significantly reduces the blocking probability and outperforms the mentioned single-channel dynamic resource scheduling by almost 8%in term of system utility.

Transfer and migration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soil irrigated with long-term wastewater

In order to investigate the transfer and migration behavior of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)in soil with long-term wastewater irrigation,Groundwater Ubiquity Score(GUS)and fugacity method were respectively used to assess the potential entry into the groundwater and transfer capacity of *** results of assessment using GUS show that there is significant correlation between the GUS and organic carbon sorption coefficient(KOC)for PAHs and a simple assessment method with KOC was referred to evaluate contamination of *** fugacity method,evaluation results of transfer and migration of PAHs in soil suggest that the PAHs accumulation in the soil through long-term wastewater irrigation could be re-volatilized as secondary emission sources to atmosphere for the Low Molecular Weight(LMW)PAHs,in contrast to High Molecular Weight(HMW)PAHs for which the soil remains a sink that could absorb more *** net volatilisation flux was 0.39 g/d in upland and 0.32 g/d in paddy for LMW Nap(Naphthalene),and 0.97×10^(-3)g/d in upland and 0.37×10^(-3)g/d in paddy for LMW Phe(Phenanthrene).The net deposition was 0.72×10^(-4)g/d in upland and 0.10×10^(-3)g/d in paddy for HMW Fla(Fluoranthene),and 0.22×10^(-4)g/d in upland and 0.20×10^(-4)g/d in paddy for HMW Bap(Benzo[a]pyrene).Sensitivities of the model estimates to input parameters were tested,and the sensitivity coefficient was defined for the *** most influential parameters were the volumes of the air,water,and organic carbon fractions in soil and the thickness of the soil.

Screening Psychrophilic Fungi of Cellulose Degradation and Characteristic of Enzyme Production

A fungus（WR-C1） decomposed cellulose was isolated from a hypothermal litter layer using Congo red medium as the preliminary screening culture medium and then using a filter as the secondary screening medium at low temperature. The experiment showed that the weight loss rate of filter paper on the 15 th days could reach 30.69%. A morphologic and ITS gene sequence analysis suggested that CF-C1 was Cladosporium. We mainly studied the effects of culture time, inoculation amount, initial p H and different sources of carbon, nitrogen and inorganic salt on the cellulase production of strain WR-C1. Under optimum cultural condition, the highest value of WR-C1 enzyme production and filter paper enzyme were 3.27 U · m L～（-1） and 0.51 U · m L～（-1）.
