We recently reported that inhibitors against human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase(DHODH)have broad-spectrum antiviral activities including their inhibitory efficacies on SARS-CoV-2 replication in infected ***,there are limited data from clinical studies to prove the application of DHODH inhibitors in Coronavirus disease 2019(covid-19)*** the present study,we evaluated Leflunomide,an approved DHODH inhibitor widely used as a modest immune regulator to treat autoimmune diseases,in treating covid-19 disease with a small-scale of *** of 10 laboratory-confirmed covid-19 patients of moderate type with obvious opacity in the lung were *** of the patients were treated with Leflunomide,and another five were treated as blank controls without a *** the patients accepted standard supportive treatment for *** patients given Leflunomide had a shorter viral shedding time(median of5 days)than the controls(median of 11 days,P=0.046).The patients given Leflunomide also showed a significant reduction in C-reactive protein levels,indicating that immunopathological inflammation was well *** obvious adverse effects were observed in Leflunomide-treated patients,and they all discharged from the hospital faster than *** preliminary study on a small-scale compassionate use of Leflunomide provides clues for further understanding of Leflunomide as a potential antiviral drug against covid-19.

Outbreaks of both influenza virus and the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 are serious threats to human health and life. It is very important to establish a rapid, accurate test with large-scale detection potential to prevent the further spread of the epidemic. An optimized RPA-Cas12a-based platform combined with digital microfluidics(DMF), the RCD platform, was established to achieve the automated, rapid detection of influenza viruses and SARS-CoV-2. The probe in the RPA-Cas12a system was optimized to produce maximal fluorescence to increase the amplification signal. The reaction droplets in the platform were all at the microliter level and the detection could be accomplished within 30 min due to the effective mixing of droplets by digital microfluidic technology. The whole process from amplification to recognition is completed in the chip, which reduces the risk of aerosol contamination. One chip can contain multiple detection reaction areas, offering the potential for customized *** RCD platform demonstrated a high level of sensitivity, specificity(no false positives or negatives), speed(≤30 min),automation and multiplexing. We also used the RCD platform to detect nucleic acids from influenza patients and covid-19 patients. The results were consistent with the findings of q PCR. The RCD platform is a one-step, rapid, highly sensitive and specific method with the advantages of digital microfluidic technology, which circumvents the shortcomings of manual operation. The development of the RCD platform provides potential for the isothermal automatic detection of nucleic acids during epidemics.

Coronavirus disease 2019(covid-19)combined with liver injury has become a very prominent clinical *** to the lack of a clear definition of liver injury in patients with covid-19,the different selection of evaluation parameters and statistical time points,there are the conflicting conclusions about the incidence rate in different *** mechanism of covid-19 combined with liver injury is complicated,including the direct injury of liver cells caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 replication and liver injury caused by cytokines,ischemia and hypoxia,and *** addition,underlying diseases,especially chronic liver disease,can aggravate covid-19 liver *** the treatment of covid-19 combined with liver injury,the primary and basic treatment is to treat the etiology and pathogenesis,followed by support,liver protection,and symptomatic treatment according to the clinical classification and severity of liver *** article evaluates the incidence,pathogenesis and prevention and treatment of covid-19 combined with liver injury,and aims to provide countermeasures for the prevention and treatment of covid-19 combined with liver injury.

Objective Our study aims to present a summary of the clinicopathological characteristics of patients affected by the coronavirus disease 2019(covid-19)that can be used as a reference for further research and clinical *** Studies were included in the meta-analysis if they had cohort,case-control or case series designs and provided sufficient details on clinical symptoms,laboratory outcomes and asymptomatic *** PubMed,Embase,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Wanfang,China Science and Technology Journal Database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases were electronically searched to identify related studies published between 1 January 2020 and 16 March *** reviewers independently examined the literature,extracted relevant data and assessed the risk of publication bias before including the studies in the *** The confirmed cases of *** A total of 55 unique retrospective studies involving 8697 patients with covid-19 were ***-analysis showed that a higher proportion of infected patients were male(53.3%),and the two major symptoms observed were fever(78.4%)and cough(58.3%).Other common symptoms included fatigue(34%),myalgia(21.9%),expectoration(23.7%),anorexia(22.9%),chest tightness(22.9%)and dyspnoea(20.6%).Minor symptoms included nausea and vomiting(6.6%),diarrhoea(8.2%),headache(11.3%),pharyngalgia(11.6%),shivering(15.2%)and rhinorrhea(7.3%).About 5.4%of the patients were *** patients showed normal leucocyte counts(64.7%)and elevated C reactive protein levels(65.9%).Lymphopaenia was observed in about 47.6%of the infected patients,along with abnormal levels of myocardial enzymes(49.4%)and liver function(26.4%).Other findings included leucopenia(23.5%),elevated D-dimer(20.4%),elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate(20.4%),leucocytosis(9.9%),elevated procalcitonin(16.7%)and abnormal renal function(10.9%).Conclusions The most commonly experienced symptoms of pati
