Improving the highly selective and sensitive binding of chemosensor to target guest is always very *** order to solve this issue,herein,the enrichment effect was introduced into the design of chemosensor molecule.A novel bi-fused-macrocyclic host molecule BPN1 was synthesized by bridging a pillar[5]arene and a naphthalene diimide(NDI)group through hydrogen-bond-rich *** the BPN1,the naphthalimide side ring is outside the cavity of the pillar[5]*** addition,Cr(VI)greatly threat human health and the environment due to its severe toxicity,and it is very important to develop effective chemosensor for sensitive and selective detection of Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)or its ion *** this paper,the novel bi-fused-macrocyclic host molecule BPN1 can recognize Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)with high selectivity and *** mechanism of BPN1 recognition of Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)was studied through experiments and density functional theory(DFT),the results show that BPN1 could supply enrichment effect to bind Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)through multiple weak interactions such as hydrogen bonds and anion-π,and achieve highly sensitive and selective detection of Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-).It is a significant and feasible strategy for improve high selectivity and sensitivity of host to specific objects by using the enrichment effect of fused bi-macrocyclic.

Background Infectious diseases pandemic can lead to explosive effect with unpredictability on the world,as exemplified the bubonic–pneumonic plague pandemic in the fourteenth century[1],the 1918 influenza pandemic and the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).From January 2020 to May 2022,a total of 527.5 million individuals were suffered from an COVID-19,and more than 6.2 million individuals were died[2].The global all-age rate of excess mortality due to the COVID-19 pandemic was 120.3 deaths per 100,000[3].Its threat to human beings,especially those with underlying health issues,no one overlook this outcome.

Nootkatone Improves Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress-Induced Depressive-Like Behaviors by Repressing NF-κB/NLRP3-Mediated Neuroinflammation

Objective:To explore the effect of nootkatone(NKT) on chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS)-induced depressive-like behaviors and the mechanism underlying NKT improving the depressivelike ***:The CUMS-induced depression model was established in *** mice were randomized into 5 groups(n=10) in accordance with a random number table:control group,CUMS group,CUMS+NKT(6 mg/kg) group,CUMS+NKT(12 mg/kg) group,and CUMS+ketamine *** the 22th day,NKT(6 or 12 mg/kg) or ketamine(0.5 mg/kg) was given with intragastric administration every day for21 *** tests including forced swimming test(FST),tail suspension test(TST),sucrose preference test(SPT) and open-field test(OFT) were carried *** mRNA and protein expressions of interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-18,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α in hippocampus were assessed using quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction(PCR),Western blot analysis,and enzyme linked immunosorbent *** nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)/NOD-like receptor 3(NLRP3) inflammasome pathway was analyzed using Western blot and immunofluorescence ***:NKT treatment improved CUMS-induced depressivelike behaviors in mice(P<0.05 or P<0.01).NKT significantly decreased the mRNA and protein levels of IL-1β,IL-18,IL-6,and TNF-α in hippocampus of CUMS mice(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Furthermore,NKT repressed CUMS-induced activation of NF-κB signaling and NLRP3 inflammasome(P<0.01).More important,Nigericin,a NLRP3 activator,destroyed the effect of NKT on repressing neuroinflammation and improving depressive-like behaviors(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion:NKT ameliorates the depressive-like symptoms,in part by repressing NF-κB/NLRP3-mediated neuroinflammation.

GhAP1-D3 positively regulates flowering time and early maturity with no yield and fiber quality penalties in upland cotton

Flowering time(FTi)is a major factor determining how quickly cotton plants reach *** maturity greatly affects lint yield and fiber quality and is crucial for mechanical harvesting of cotton in northwestern ***,few quantitative trait loci(QTLs)or genes regulating early maturity have been reported in cotton,and the underlying regulatory mechanisms are largely *** this study,we characterized 152,68,and 101 loci that were significantly associated with the three key early maturity traits—FTi,flower and boll period(FBP)and whole growth period(WGP),respectively,via four genome-wide association study methods in upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum).We focused on one major early maturity-related genomic region containing three single nucleotide polymorphisms on chromosome D03,and determined that GhAP1-D3,a gene homologous to Arabidopsis thaliana APETALA1(AP1),is the causal locus in this *** plants overexpressing GhAP1-D3 showed significantly early flowering and early maturity without penalties for yield and fiber quality compared to wild-type(WT)*** contrast,the mutant lines of GhAP1-D3 generated by genome editing displayed markedly later flowering than the ***1-D3 interacted with GhSOC1(SUPPRESSOR OF OVEREXPRESSION OF CONSTANS 1),a pivotal regulator of FTi,both in vitro and in *** in GhAP1-D3 transcript levels clearly affected the expression of multiple key flowering regulatory ***,DNA hypomethylation and high levels of H3K9ac affected strong expression of GhAP1-D3 in early-maturing cotton *** propose that epigenetic modifications modulate GhAP1-D3 expression to positively regulate FTi in cotton through interaction of the encoded GhAP1 with GhSOC1 and affecting the transcription of multiple flowering-related *** findings may also lay a foundation for breeding early-maturing cotton varieties in the future.

Laser additive manufacturing of ductile Fe-based bulk metallic glass composite

Laser additive manufacturing(LAM)is a promising technology for processing bulk metallic glass(BMG)with freeform geometries or unlimited ***,the inherently brittle Fe-based BMGs produced by LAM have always been plagued by the micro-cracking induced by the large thermal stresses during the LAM *** solve this dilemma,316L stainless steel(SS)with excellent toughness and similar elemental composition was carefully selected as the second phase to form Fe-based BMG composites(BMGCs).The obtained Fe-based BMGCs are equipped with a heterogeneous structure,i.e.,the 316L SS phase is wrapped by the metallic glass and forms a unique"fishbone"structure with a ***,the special structure nicely improves a plastic strain of the Fe-based BMGC with a strength of 2355 MPa to~17%,achieving a record-breaking achievement among Fe-based amorphous with critical dimensions over 1mm.

Laser additive manufacturing of laminated bulk metallic glass composite with desired strength-ductility combination

Introducing ductile crystalline dendrites into a glassy matrix to produce bulk metallic glass composites(BMGCs)is an effective way to improve the poor ductility of bulk metallic glasses(BMGs).However,the presence of soft crystalline phases tends to decrease the strength and causes the strength-ductility ***,relying on the flexible laser additive manufacturing(LAM)technique that allows the composition tailoring of each layer,we successfully fabricate a lamellated Zr-based BMGC constructed by the alternating superimposition of soft and hard *** lamellated BMGC shows an exceptional combination of yield strength(∼1.2 GPa)and ductility(∼5%).Such enhanced strength-ductility synergy is attributed to the asynchronous deformation at two scales,i.e.,inter-laminar and intra-laminar,and the unique dual-scale Ta particles that uniformly distribute on the amorphous *** lamellated structure design motif,enabled by the flexible LAM technology,provides a new window for the development of high-performance *** is also applicable to the synergistic enhancement of strength and plasticity of other brittle metallic materials.

Enhanced degradation of organic contaminants by Fe(Ⅲ)/peroxymonosulfate process with L-cysteine

The difficulty in Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ) conversion in the Fe(Ⅲ)/peroxymonosulfate(PMS) process limits its efficiency and ***,L-cysteine(Cys),a green natural organic ligand with reducing capability,was innovatively introduced into Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS to construct an excellent Cys/Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS *** Cys/Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS process,at room temperature,can degrade a variety of organic contaminants,including dyes,phenolic compounds,and *** subsequent experiments with acid orange 7(A07),the AO7 degradation efficiency followed pseudo-first-order kinetic which exhibited an initial "fast stage" and a second "slow stage".The rate constant values ranged depending on the initial Cys,Fe(Ⅲ),PMS,and AO7 concentrations,reaction temperature,and pH *** addition,the presence of Cl^(-),NO_(3)^(-),and SO_(4)^(2-) had negligible impact while HCO_(3)^(-) and humic acid inhibited the degradation of ***,radical scavenger experiments and methyl phenyl sulfoxide(PMSO) transformation assay indicated that sulfate radical,hydroxyl radical,and ferryl ion(Fe(Ⅳ)) were the dominant reactive species involved in the Cys/Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS ***,based on the results of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry,several AO7 degradation pathways,including N=N cleavage,hydroxylation,and ring opening were *** study provided a new insight to improve the efficiency of Fe(Ⅲ)/PMS process by accelerating Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)cycle with Cys.
