Geochemistry of ophiolite cherts from the Qinling orogenic belt and implications for their tectonic settings

Paleozoic cherts from the Mianl and the Erlangping ophiolite zones of the Qinling orogenic belt are characterized by low Si/Al ratios (52.14-683.52 in the Mianle cherts, 12.29-58.62 in the Erlangping cherts), Fe2O3 (0.01-0.35 and 0.02-1.24) and high Al2O3/(Al2O3+Fe2O3) ratios (0.82-0.99 and 0.83-0.99). The negative correlation between Si2O and Al2O3 in the cherts reflects the important role of terrigenous components. The Erlangping cherts have Lan/Cen=0.9-1.15 and Ce/Ce*=0.95-1.15 with low contents of V, Ni and Cu, consistent with those of cherts forming on the continental margin. In contrast, the Ce/Ce* ratios of the Mianle cherts range from 0.71 to 1.18 and Lan/Cen from 0.88 to 1.43 with slightly high V, Ni and Cu, which are similar to cherts found in the mid-ocean ridges and pelagic basins. Combined with the features of basic lavas associated with the cherts, it is suggested that during the Paleozoic, when the back-arc basin represented by the Erlangping ophiolite commenced shrinking in size in the mid-Ordovician, the southern Qinling was still in an extensional regime and finally grew into a new limited oceanic basin in the early Carboniferous.

Dynamic surface patterns(DSPs)have attracted significant interest in anti-counterfeiting,enabling information to be stored,encrypted and decrypted in response to external ***,creating dynamic surface patterns,capable of controlling wrinkling time and independently modulating different information in both wrinkled and fluorescent states,remains a tremendous *** limit DSPs to further enhance tamper-proofing capacity and extend the information storage ***,a rationally designed patterning strategy based on controllable elastic modulus was demonstrated to fabricate self-erasable dynamic surface patterns(S-DSPs)that increase information storage *** novel S-DSPs strategically integrated amino co-oligomers(ACOs)with the 9-anthracenemethanol(9-AM)as skin layers,designing a bilayer multi-encoding system which could carry several different types of information with wrinkled and fluorescent *** ACOs with relatively low molecular weight can endow the elastic modulus of skin layers with a wide range of *** a result,the difference between the compressive strain and the critical wrinkle strain in the bilayer system would be precisely modulated by photo-dimerization to form quick-response(minimum<1 min)and self-erasable(3 min–8 days)wrinkled patterns for ***,the fluorescence pattern could be independently erased and reprogrammed without affecting the change in the wrinkle pattern under modulus-controlled ***,controllable self-erasure in S-DSPs significantly develops tamper-proof capabilities in a supply *** original strategy could provide a new approach to the tamper-proof,high-density,and multi-encoded information storage in the product security or inkless printing.

It has been demonstrated that the dual-wire waveguide(DWW)can be used in terahertz(THz) frequency regime with many ***,the existent research approaches for the DWW are based on the electrostatic *** this paper,making use of the bipolar coordinate system(BCS),a rigorous analytical theory of DWW is worked out,and some important physical and optical characters of DWW including the rotating behavior *** revealed,the equivalent impendence and the ohmic loss for the gold DWW are *** eigenvalue problem is presented from the point of view of Mathematical-Physics for TE and TM *** obtained results will help get a deep-going understanding of DWW and explore its application in high frequency range including THz.

Sodium alginate and gelatin are both remarkable natural biomaterials; they all have been extensively applied in tissue engineering and other relative fields,due to their low price and good biocompatibility. In this paper,we oxidized sodium alginate with sodium periodate to convert 1,2-hydroxyl groups into aldehyde groups to get aldehyde-sodium alginate( A-SA). Gelatin was modified with ethylenediamine( ED) in the presence of water-soluble1-ethyl-3( 3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide( EDC) to introduce additional amino groups to get amino-gelatin. Upon mixing the A-SA and amino-gelatin aqueous solutions together,a gel rapidly formed based on the Schiff's base reaction between the aldehyde groups in A-SA and the amino groups in *** transform infrared spectroscopy( FTIR) analysis confirmed the characteristic peak of Schiff's base group in the hydrogel. The gelation time measure has confirmed the gelation time is dependent on the aldehyde group content in A-SA and amino group content in amino-gelatin. The fasted hydrogel formation takes place within 30 s. The entire test suggested that this gel could be a promising candidate as soft tissue adhesive.

Recently, Kundu and Gupta （Metrika, 48：83 C 97, 1998） established the asymptotic normality of the least squares estimators in the two dimensional cosine model. In this paper, we give the approximation to the general least squares estimators by using random weights which is called the Bayesian bootstrap or the random weighting method by Rubin （Annals of Statistics, 9：130 C 134, 1981） and Zheng （Acta Math. Appl. Sinica （in Chinese）, 10（2）： 247 C 253, 1987）. A simulation study shows that this approximation works very well.

A cationic waterborne polyurethane(CWPU) was synthesized and utilized as impregnation material for manufacturing microfiber synthetic leather base,in an attempt to decrease environmental pollution associated with organic solvents and improve simulation degree relative to genuine *** alkali resistance of the CWPU and four manufacture methods were ***,the dyeing properties of the microfiber synthetic leather base were *** was found that the CWPU displayed enough alkali resistance to endure the alkali deweighting process for microfiber synthetic leather base *** terms of bending length,bending rigidity,compression elasticity ratio and specific compression elasticity ratio of the resulting base,coagulating the impregnated CWPU with sodium hydroxide before steam treatment was the optimal *** extent of fiber splitting and the handle of the base from this method were both similar to conventional base filled with solvent-based polyurethane(SPU).The dyeing properties of the microfiber synthetic leather base filled with CWPU were also found superior to the one filled with either anionic waterborne polyurethane(AWPU) or SPU.

Nonlinear feedback control of a novel hyperchaotic system and its circuit implementation

This paper reports a new hyperchaotic system by adding an additional state variable into a three-dimensional chaotic dynamical system. Some of its basic dynamical properties, such as the hyperchaotic attractor, Lyapunov expo- nents, bifurcation diagram and the hyperchaotic attractor evolving into periodic, quasi-periodic dynamical behaviours by varying parameter k are studied. An effective nonlinear feedback control method is used to suppress hyperchaos to unstable equilibrium. Furthermore, a circuit is designed to realize this new hyperchaotic system by electronic workbench （EWB）. Numerical simulations are presented to show these results.

We demonstrate a photonic crystal cavity with a tapered waveguide and a point defect to highly confine terahertz *** terahertz wave is first guided into the tapered waveguide,gradually compressed to its end,and finally confined in the point defect *** simulations with the finite-difference time-domain method indicate that the narrow band terahertz wave is highly confined in the point defect cavity with a quality factor of *** demonstrated device may be used as an antenna for enhancing light-matter interactions in the point defect cavity at terahertz frequencies and may improve the sensitivity of terahertz near-field microscopy.
