The secrctory materials from the uterine flushings of the pregnant, non-pregnant and pseudopreg-nant rabbits were analysed by the method of SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The results demon-strated that there are three specific peptides in the pregnant uterine flushings with molecular weightsof 3000, 4500 and 6000. No correspondent peptides were found in non-pregnant and pseudopregnantuterine flushings. The peptides were also isolated and identified from the blastocystic fluid. At least 4peaks of small peptides were shown by high pressure liquid chromatography. The range of their isoelec-trophoretic points is between pH 4.0-5.5 Concavalin A (Con A) affinitive electrophoresis indicated thatthey are glycopeptides in nature. The LH-RH A is able to exert inhibitory effects on the synthesis ofthese peptides. Their possible physiological function has been discussed.

The mechanisms by which LH-RH or its agonists inhibit decidua formation and terminatepregnancy in rats are not clear. Evidence so far accumulated indicates that the gonadotropicreleasing hormone or its analogues may act directly on the uterus. If this is the case, then wewould be able to identify LH-RH receptors in the endometrial tissue. The results presentedhere demonstrate that the homogenate preparation of rat endometrial tissue bound25I-LH-RHwith an affinity constant of Ka = 1.3×10M. The binding capacity was measured as 236fmole/mg protein. It was found that the binding is highly specific, because no binding wasobserved in a variety of non-target tissues, such as liver, kidney and muscle. Competitive bind-ing with TRH, P substance and bradykinin did not occur under our experimental *** was of particular interest to note that Day 3 of pregnancy is a critical time showing a higherbinding activity. The significance of work is discussed.

The inhibitory effect of rabbit blastocystic peptides (RBPs) on lymphocyte transfor-mation was studied by the method of measuring the incorporation of ~3H- thymidine intoDNA. The results indicated that RBPs inhibited PHA-stimulated rat and human lympho-cyte transformation in vitro. In the concentration ranging from 40 to 200 μg/2.5 ml, theinhibition was dose-dependent. No obvious inhibitory action was found with hCG (16- 128IU/2.5 ml), progesterone (250 ng- 1 μg/2.5 ml) and pregnant rabbit serum. It was furtherdemonstrated that RBPs at a higher dosage (200 μg/ml) was inhibitory to PGF_(2α) secretion.On the other hand, the ~3H- leucine incorporation of rabbit endometrium was enhanced bythese peptides, and this action could be blocked by the addition of actidine.

The pigmentation gene of Xenopus laevis is dominant and that of albino ap mutant recessive. Hete-rologous haploid hybrids are produced by UV inactivation of the egg nuclei during second polar body for-mation in the mutant sperm-fertilized Xenopus eggs. During development of these hybrids, melanin ap-peared in the eye and melanophores in the skin at stages comparable to those of the wild type, but muchearlier than in the albino mutant. The number and intensity of pigment cells are interinediate betweenthe black Xenopus and albino mutant. While a number of pigment cells remain in the hybrids, thosein the albino eventually degenerate. Therefore, the development and maintenance of pigmentation in hete-rologous hybrids are contributed by Xenopus cytoplasm. Tadpole tail-tips were squashed and stained for chromosome counting. The results show thatXenopus and mutants are diploid （36 chromosomes） and heterologous haploid hybrids have 18 chromosomes.

Alligator sinensis and Alligator mississippiensis are put under the Alligator family and Alligator genus as two different species and have been thought that they are closely related in taxonomy. The results of our DNA-DNA hybridization experiments showed that A. sinensis is a relatively young species originated in Asia,whereas A. mississippiensis is the *** seems that the alligator and crocodilian could evolve from each *** evolutionary rate of the crocodilian is slower than those of birds and higher *** phylogeny of four crocodilians have been obtained and the hypothesis that the ancestor of Crocodylus porosus is a transitional form between *** and *** is proposed.

This paper reports the results of gossypol effects on the testicular mitochondrial ultrastructures and functions. A hypothesis of mechanism of gossypol action based on our experimental data was *** microscopic observations confirmed further our previous studies that the mitoehondria of the target germ cells were the most sensitive and the most severely damaged among cellular organelles in response to gossypol. The damages included the swelling, vacuolation, crista depletion, lysis, granular accumulation in matrix and the process of intact mitochondria disintegration. The activity of the mitochondrial marker enzyme, the LDH-X of human spermatozoa, was markedly decreased or suppressed completely after gossypol *** functions of isolated testieular mitochondria determined by Warburg manometric and oxygen electrode polarographic methods indicated that gossypol stimulated respiration but inhibited slightly the oxidative phosphorylation at low concentrations (20-40μM) in vitro. Aim： To investigate the activation of nuclear factor-kappa B （NF-kappa B） and its function in glucocorticoid-induced Leydig cell apoptosis. Methods： The Leydig cells were isolated from male Sprague-Dawley rats （90 days of age） and were incubated with corticosterone （CORT, glucocorticoid in rat） for 6 h, 12 h and 24 h, respectively. The P65 subunit of NF-kappa B （NF-kappa B/P65） in nuclei and the inhibitor of NF-kappa B （Ikappa B） in cytoplasm were analyzed by Western-blotting. The Leydig cells were treated with anti-Fas antibody for 3 h followed by Western blotting to assay the changes of NF-kappa B/P65 in nuclei and in cytoplasm. The role of NF-kappa B in CORT- induced Leydig cell apoptosis was evaluated by observing the effects of NF-kappa B/P65 overexpression and inhibiting activation of NF-kappa B by 100 μmol/L Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate （PDTC） on this apoptosis. Results： The treatment of Leydig cells with CORT increased the levels of NF-kappa B/P65 in nuclei and decreased the levels of Ikappa B in cytoplasm. Following the Leydig cells were treated with anti-Fas antibody, the levels of NF-kappaB/P65 was increased in nuclei and decreased in cytoplasm. The CORT-induced Leydig cell apoptosis was inhibited by overexpressed NF-kappaB/P65 and was enhanced by incubation with PDTC. Conclusion： NF-kappa B is activated by increased FasL/Fas in CORT-induced Leydig cell apoptosis. NF-kappa B may play an anti-apoptotic role in this apoptosis.

BACKGROUND： Neuronal activity in cortical areas regulates neurodevelopment by interacting with defined genetic programs to shape the mature central nervous system. Electrical activity is conveyed to sensory cortical areas via intracortical and thalamocortical neurons, and includes oscillatory patterns that have been measured across cortical regions. OBJECTIVE： In this work, we review the most recent findings about how electrical activity shapes the developmental assembly of functional circuitry in the somatosensory cortex, with an emphasis on intemeuron maturation and integration. We include studies on the effect of various neurotransmitters and on the influence of thalamocortical afferent activity on circuit development. We additionally reviewed studies describing network activity patterns. METHODS： We conducted an extensive literature search using both the PubMed and Google Scholar search engines. The following keywords were used in various iterations：＂intemeuron＂, ＂somatosensory＂, ＂development＂, ＂activity＂, ＂network patterns＂, ＂thalamocortical＂, ＂NMDA receptor＂, ＂plasticity＂. We additionally selected papers known to us from past reading, and those recommended to us by reviewers and members of our lab. RESULTS： We reviewed a total of 132 articles that focused on the role of activity in interneuronal migration, maturation, and circuit development, as well as the source of electrical inputs and pattems of cortical activity in the somatosensory cortex. 79 of these papers included in this timely review were written between 2007 and 2016. CONCLUSIONS： Neuronal activity shapes the developmental assembly of functional circuitry in the somatosensory cortical interneurons. This activity impacts nearly every aspect of development and acquisition of mature neuronal characteristics, and may contribute to changing phenotypes, altered transmitter expression, and plasticity in the adult. The effect of hormones on progesterone secretion by 6-8 week human trophoblast tissue cultured in serum-free medium has been investigated. GnRH at low concentration (10-10-10-8 mol/L) stimulated progesterone secretion, while high dose (10-6-10-5 mol/L) produced inhibitory effect. The progesterone secretion could be significantly decreased by addition of anti-hCG antiserum or monoclonal anti-hCG IgG in a dose- and time-dependent manner. Various concentrations of TRH, PGE2, PGF2α, testosterone and estradiol were found to be ineffective. These data indicate clearly that progesterone production by human trophoblast tissue at early gestation stage is under the modulation of GnRH and hCG.
