Background: Recordi.g jaw movement rhythms i. pati.nts wi.h jaw defects i. challengi.g usi.g conventi.nal tracki.g devi.es. However, masti.atory rhythm i. cruci.l for masti.atory performance and nutri.i.nal i.take. Thi. study ai.ed to explore the i.pact of usi.g a maxi.lofaci.l prosthesi. to restore masti.atory rhythm i. mandi.ulectomy pati.nts wi.h a novel wearable devi.e. Methods: Twelve pati.nts who underwent mandi.ulectomy and were rehabi.i.ated wi.h maxi.lofaci.l prosthesi. were recrui.ed. Chewi.g rate, cycle durati.ns, coeffi.i.nt of vari.ti.n of cycle durati.ns (CV), changi.g ti.es of ski. morphology on the back of the ear pi.na area (SM), and masti.atory performance were measured duri.g gum chewi.g wi.hout and wi.h a denture usi.g a wearable jaw movement rhythm tracki.g devi.e. A pai.ed t-test and the Pearson correlati.n coeffi.i.nt were used for stati.ti.al analysi.. Results: The chewi.g rate i.creased by 8.6 cycles/mi. wi.h dentures (P P = 0.01). The CV and SM decreased wi.h dentures (P = 0.004 and P = 0.01, respecti.ely). Si.ni.i.ant correlati.ns were found between the CV and SM wi.hout dentures (P = 0.004). Conclusi.n: 1. Weari.g maxi.lofaci.l prostheses can i.prove masti.atory rhythm i. pati.nts who undergo mandi.ulectomy wi.h Ei.hner B2 occlusal supports. 2. The wearable devi.e i. avai.able for measuri.g masti.atory rhythm i. pati.nts wi.h jaw defects i. cli.i.s. 3. Changi.g ti.es of the ski. morphology on the back of the ear pi.na i.di.ate jaw movement stabi.i.y through a si.pler process than the coeffi.i.nt of vari.ti.n of cycle durati.ns.

Automati. evaluati.n of speech i.pai.ment caused by weari.g a dental appli.nce

i. denti.try, speech evaluati.n i. i.portant for appropri.te orofaci.l dysfuncti.n rehabi.i.ati.n. The speech i.telli.i.i.i.y test i. often used to assess pati.nts’ speech, and i. i.volves an evaluati.n by human li.teners. However, the test has certai. shortcomi.gs, and an alternati.e method, wi.hout a li.teni.g procedure, i. needed. The purpose of thi. study was to test the appli.abi.i.y of an automati. speech i.telli.i.i.i.y test system usi.g a computeri.ed speech recogni.i.n techni.ue. Speech of 10 normal subjects, when weari.g a dental appli.nce, was evaluated usi.g an automati. speech i.telli.i.i.i.y test system that was developed usi.g computeri.ed speech recogni.i.n software. The results of the automati. test were referred to as the speech recogni.i.n scores. The Wi.coxon si.ned rank test was used to analyze di.ferences i. the results of the test between the followi.g 2 condi.i.ns: wi.h the palatal plate i. place and wi.h the palatal plate removed. Spearman correlati.n coeffi.i.nts were used to evaluate whether the speech recogni.i.n score correlated wi.h the result of conventi.nal i.telli.i.i.i.y test. The speech recogni.i.n score was si.ni.i.antly decreased when weari.g the plate (z = -2.807, P = 0.0050). The automati. evaluati.n results posi.i.ely correlated wi.h that of conventi.nal evaluati.n when weari.g the appli.nce (r = 0.729, P = 0.017). The automati. speech testi.g system may be useful for evaluati.g speech i.telli.i.i.i.y i. denture wearers.

Case Descri.ti.n: Case 1: A 53-year-old male pati.nt vi.i.ed our cli.i. after chemotherapy, radi.therapy, and parti.l maxi.lectomy for cancer of the ri.ht maxi.lary gi.gi.a. Case 2: A 65-year-old male pati.nt vi.i.ed our cli.i. after radi.therapy for a ri.ht-si.ed tongue cancer, parti.l mandi.ulectomy of the ri.ht tongue to the oropharynx, a ri.ht-si.ed segmental mandi.ulectomy and a speech ai. and a mandi.ular prosthesi. were provi.ed. Case 3: A 36-year-old female vi.i.ed our cli.i. for radi.therapy for left-si.ed tongue cancer. Dental hygi.ni.ts provi.ed oral health management to the pati.nts. i. oral health management, i. was suggested that i.terventi.n before cancer treatment, oral hygi.ne i.structi.ns tai.ored to pati.nts’ symptoms, and frequent professi.nal care are i.portant. By assi.ni.g some parti.ular value to the arbi.rary constants we have obtai.ed a model of compact star of radi.s 6.7 km. and mass 1.148 M_⊙, whi.h i. very close to the observati.nal data of the compact star Her X-1 proposed by Rawls et al. The plankton samples collected from four beels of lower Assam revealed 160 Roti.era speci.s belongi.g to 35 genera and 19 fami.i.s. The ri.hness i. of bi.di.ersi.y value as -38.0% and -57.0% of the roti.er speci.s known ti.l date from i.di. and northeast i.di. （NEi., respecti.ely. One speci.s each i. new to the Ori.ntal regi.n and NEi. and three speci.s are new to Assam; 23 speci.s meri. global bi.geography i.terest and several exhi.i. di.tri.uti.n values i. the i.di.n sub-regi.n. The di.erse Lecani.ae 〉 Brachi.ni.ae 〉 Lepadelli.ae 〉 Tri.hocerci.ae and speci.se li.toral-peri.hyti. Lecane〉 Lepadella〉Tri.hocerca, and ri.hness of Brachi.nus spp. followi.g removal of aquati. macrophytes are noteworthy. Although end-of-pi.e and pro- cess i.tegrated measures have led to a si.ni.i.ant drop i. emi.si.ns of large parti.les from stacks, fi.e aerosols were not speci.i.ally consi.ered, nor were emi.si.ns from fugi.i.e and open sources. i. thi. study, we deployed aerosol samplers together wi.h a scanni.g ultra-vi.let （UV） li.ar to characteri.e total suspended parti.les （TSP）, PM10, and PM2.5, i. emi.si.ns from a large i.tegrated steelworks i. Spai. over a 16-day peri.d. We determi.ed the content of carbonaceous, soluble i.organi., mi.eral dust, and metal speci.s. A posi.i.e matri. factori.ati.n was carri.d out on our dataset. Despi.e mi.eral dust bei.g predomi.ant i. all si.e fracti.ns, the steelworks was clearly a source of carbonaceous speci.s, resulti.g i. producti.n of secondary i.organi. aerosols. i. parti.ular, stack emi.si.ns were a major contri.utor of fi.e parti.les, whi.e open sources domi.ated the emi.si.ns of TSP, yi.ldi.g up to 80% of parti.les larger than PM10. The tri.le A or Ai.grove＇s syndrome i. an autosomal recessi.e di.order characteri.ed by the tri.d of achalasi. cardi., alacri.a and ACTH resi.tant adrenocorti.al i.suffi.i.ncy. Mutati.ns of the Achalasi.-Addi.oni.ni.mAlacri.a-Syndrome （AAAS） gene on chromosome 12q13 are associ.ted wi.h thi. syndrome. We report an i.di.n fami.y where two si.li.gs were homozygous for a known mutati.n of the AAAS gene and presented wi.h the classi.al tri.d of symptoms. The mother and the brother were heterozygous and asymptomati.. The affected si.li.gs had i.on defi.i.ncy anemi. and the younger si.ter had pes cavus and palmoplantar keratosi.. Neurologi.al symptoms were absent i. both affected chi.dren. Recogni.i.n of thi. syndrome can lead to early treatment of adrenal i.suffi.ency and geneti. counselli.g.
