Objective:To investigate the effects of T-2 toxin on expressions of Fas,p53,Bcl-xL,Bcl-2,Bax and caspase-3 on human ***:Human chondrocytes were treated with T-2 toxin(1～20 ng/ml)for 5 ***,p53 and other apoptosis-related proteins such as Bax,Bcl-2,Bcl-xL,caspase-3 were determined by Western blot analysis and their mRNA expressions were determined by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results:Increases in Fas,p53 and the pro-apoptotic factor Bax protein and mRNA expressions and a decrease of the anti-apoptotic factor Bcl-xL were observed in a dose-dependent manner after exposures to 1～20 ng/ml T-2 toxin,while the expression of the anti-apoptotic factor Bcl-2 was ***,T-2 toxin could also up-regulate the expressions of both pro-caspase-3 and caspase-3 in a dose-dependent ***:These data suggest a possible underlying molecular mechanism for T-2 toxin to induce the apoptosis sig- naling pathway in human chondrocytes by regulation of apoptosis-related proteins.

Objective To evaluate the relationship of expressions of nucleoside diphosphate kinase （nm23） and proliferating cell nuclear antigen （PCNA）, as well as apoptosis, with the prognosis of HCC patients by analyzing their pathological and clinical data. Methods The expressions of nm23 and PCNA were analyzed by immunohistochemistry and the apoptotic phenomena were detected by TUNEL technique in the liver samples from 43 HCC tissues, 39 para-neoplastic tissues, and 10 normal tissues. The mean apoptosis index （AI） and proliferative index （PI） in individual sample were calculated. Results As shown by the detection, 32.6% of carcinomas had negative nm23 signal in tumor tissues, whereas all para-neoplastic and normal tissues had positive nm23. The AI in nm23 positive HCC was significantly higher than that in nm23 negative one, with statistical difference （P0.05）. Furthermore, the expressions of nm23, and the values of AI and PI were contrastively analyzed with some main pathological and clinical data of HCC. It revealed that HCC with extrahepatic metastasis showed remarkable correlation with the negative nm23 （P=0.013） and higher PI values of HCC （P=0.015）. The disease-free survival in HCC patients with negative nm23 expression was significantly poorer than that in patients with positive nm23 expression. Conclusion These data suggest that expressions of nm23 protein in tumor tissues are correlated with occurrences of metastasis and length of survival of the HCC patients, which may be an indicator for their prognosis.

To purify and identify the simian parvovirus （SPV） protein Vp2 expressed in E. coli, fusion protein of SPV Vp2 was expressed in E. coli DHSα competent cells transformed with vector pThioHis AVp2, and the new bacterial protein extraction reagent was used to extract the protein. Detergents with different characteristics were used to solubilize the fusion protein, and metal chelating resin （ProBond） with a continuous elusion polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis procedure was employed to purify the fusion protein. SDS-PAGE gel stained with coomassie blue and Western-blotting probed with anti-thio and anti-SPV Vp2 antibodies were used to identify the specificity of the expressed and purified fusion proteins. It was found that the SPV Vp2 protein expressed in E. coli was highly insoluble, and could not be solublized by the commonly used detergent. However, 6 M urea could solubilize the fusion proteins and was then employed for the further purification procedure, but metal chelating resin could not be used for this procedure, because of the loss of the tertiary structure of HP-thiaoredoxin and the metal-binding domain. The technique with continuous elusion polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis yielded a homogenous protein with a single band on the gel stained with coomassie blue and retained reactivity with anti-thio or anti-SPV Vp2 antibodies. It is evident that this technique with successful purification of SPV Vp2 protein has practical significance for the further investigation on the simian parvovirus infection.

Pre-harvest sprouting(PHS)poses a significant global challenge to cereal production,impacting both yield and *** this study,we employed genome-wide association studies(GWAS)on diverse rice accessions to identify novel PHS-associated *** assessment of 127 cultivated accessions for panicle germination(PHS)and detached grain germination(germination rate of detached grains at the 14th day(D14))revealed considerable phenotypic variation among rice *** analysis identified 91 significant signals at–log10(P-value)>5,including 15SNPs for PHS and 76 SNPs for D14.A subsequent linkage disequilibrium(LD)block-based GWAS analysis detected 227 significant SNPs for both traits,consisting of 18 nonsynonymous substitutions located on the coding regions of nine *** haplotype analysis identified 32 haplotypes,with 10 specific to cultivated accessions,19 specific to the wild type,and three shared between them.A phenotypic assessment of major haplotypes revealed significant differences between resistant(Hap1 and Hap2)and susceptible haplotypes(Hap5,Hap27,and Hap28),distinguished by a G/A SNP within a novel gene,*** identified haplotypes offer promising prospects for haplotypebased breeding aimed at enhancing PHS resistance in rice.

With the escalation of industrialization and population growth,energy and clean water shortages pose an unprecedented threat to sustainable ***,it is imperative to develop green and effective strategies to address these *** this context,solar-driven interfacial water evaporation(SIWE)has emerged as a highly promising low-carbon solution to the water-energy nexus[1].By locating the evaporator at airwater interfaces,heat localization can be achieved,leading to high-efficient water evaporation and freshwater *** significantly,taking advantage of the special conditions during SIWE has opened numerous opportunities for generation of extra electrical power[2,3].Throughout the processes of SIWE,various elements such as photons,waves,capillary flow,evaporation,vapor motions,condensation,and droplet sliding can all be harnessed to produce electricity through photovoltaic,thermoelectric,thermogalvanic,pyroelectric,piezoelectric,triboelectricity and hydrovoltaic effects[3].Extensive research efforts have provided valuable insights for the development of water-electricity cogeneration(WEG)hybrid systems.

Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of Bufei Jiedu(BFJD) Granules as adjuvant therapy for patients with multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis(MDR-PTB). Methods: A large-scale, multi-center, double-blinded, and randomized controlled trial was conducted in 18 sentinel hospitals in China from December 2012 to December 2016. A total of 312 MDR-PTB patients were randomly assigned to BFJD Granules or placebo groups(1:1) using a stratified randomization method, which both received the long-course chemotherapy regimen for 18 months(6 Am-Lfx-P-Z-Pto, 12 Lfx-P-Z-Pto). Meanwhile, patients in both groups also received BFJD Granules or placebo twice a day for a total of 18 months, respectively. The primary outcome was cure rate. The secondary outcomes included time to sputum-culture conversion, changes in lung cavities and quality of life(QoL) of patients. Adverse reactions were monitored during and after the trial. Results: A total of 216 cases completed the trial, 111 in the BFJD Granules group and 105 in the placebo group. BFJD Granules, as adjuvant treatment, increased the cure rate by 13.6% at the end of treatment, compared with the placebo(58.4% vs. 44.8%, P=0.02), and accelerated the median time to sputum-culture conversion(5 months vs. 11 months). The cavity closure rate of the BFJD Granules group(50.6%, 43/85) was higher than that of the placebo group(32.1%, 26/81;P=0.02) in patients who completed the treatment. At the end of the intensive treatment, according to the 36-item Short Form, the BFJD Granules significantly improved physical functioning, general health, and vitality of patients relative to the placebo group(all P<0.01). Overall, the death rates in the two groups were not significantly different;5.1%(8/156) in the BFJD Granules group and 2.6%(4/156) in the placebo group. Conclusions: Supplementing BFJD Granules with the long-course chemotherapy regimen significantly increased the cure rate and cavity closure rate, and rapidly improved QoL of pati
