Objective Liver transplantation is a current treatment option for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).The United States National Inpatient Sample database was utilized to identify risk factors that influence the outcome of liver transplantation,including locoregional recurrence,distant metastasis,and in-hospital mortality,in HCC patients with concurrent hepatitis B infection,hepatitis C infection,or alcoholic *** This retrospective cohort study included HCC patients(n=2391)from the National Inpatient Sample database who underwent liver transplantation and were diagnosed with hepatitis B or C virus infection,co-infection with hepatitis B and C,or alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver between 2005 and *** between HCC etiology and post-transplant outcomes were examined with multivariate analysis *** Liver cirrhosis was due to alcohol in 10.5%of patients,hepatitis B in 6.6%,hepatitis C in 10.8%,and combined hepatitis B and C infection in 24.3%.Distant metastasis was found in 16.7%of patients infected with hepatitis B and 9%of hepatitis C *** recurrence of HCC was significantly more likely to occur in patients with hepatitis B than in those with alcohol-induced *** After liver transplantation,patients with hepatitis B infection have a higher risk of local recurrence and distant *** care and patient tracking are essential for liver transplant patients with hepatitis B infection.

Sialon ceramics were prepared by the nitridation of Si,Al and Al2O3 powders with the transition metals(Fe Co,Ni)*** phase composition,microstructure and mechanical properties of specimens were studied Compared with the catalyst-free specimen,the addition of Fe,Co and Ni greatly promoted the nitridation process of Sialon ceramics and improved the weight gain rate and mechanical properties of *** the increased content of catalysts,the apparent porosity of the products decreased first and then increased,contrary to flexural strength and compressive *** specimen with 2.5 wt%Fe had the highest flexural strength 145.8 MPa and it exhibited the highest compressive strength of 594.6 MPa when Co content was 2.5 wt%,whereas they were 71.9 and 78.7 MPa,respectively,when without catalyst.

To promote the development of the intangible cultural heritage of the world, shadow play, many studies have focused on shadow puppet modeling and interaction. Most of the shadow puppet figures are still imaginary,spread by ancients, or carved and painted by shadow puppet artists, without consideration of real dimensions or the appearance of human bodies. This study proposes an algorithm to transform 3D human models to 2D puppet figures for shadow puppets, including automatic location of feature points, automatic segmentation of 3D models, automatic extraction of 2D contours, automatic clothes matching, and animation. Experiment proves that more realistic and attractive figures and animations of the shadow puppet can be generated in real time with this algorithm.

Single-layer reticulated dome structure are commonly high-profile building in the public and can be attractive targets for terrorist bombings,so the public can benefit from enhanced safety with a stronger understanding of the behavior of single-layer reticulated dome structure under *** paper investigates the fluid-structure interaction process and the dynamic response performance of the singlelayer reticulated dome under external blast *** experimental and numerical results shown that structural deformation is remarkably delayed compared with the velocity of blast wave,which advises the dynamic response of large-span reticulated dome structure has a negligible effect on the blast wave propagation under *** failure modes are identified by comparing the plastic development of each ring and the residual spatial geometric of the structure,i.e.,minor vibration,local depression,severe damage,and overall *** plastic deformation energy and the displacement potential energy of the structure are the main consumers of the blast *** addition,the stress performance of the vertex member and the deep plastic ratio of the whole structure can serve as qualitative indicators to distinguish different failure modes.

Cobalt thin films were deposited on silicon substrates by magnetron sputtering two commercial cobalt targets with different pass-through fluxes(PTFs).The influences of PTF on the magnetic properties of sputtered thin films were *** results indicate that under the same sputtering conditions,cobalt thin film deposited by Co target with high PTF(84.21%) has lower remanence ratio(0.65),while cobalt thin film prepared by Co target with low PTF(69.13%) has higher remanence ratio(0.87).Through introducing an external magnetic field parallel to the film surface during sputtering processes,both the remanence ratios of cobalt thin films prepared by the two targets can be enhanced to approach ***-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) images show that in the absence of the external magnetic field during sputtering,cobalt thin film deposited by the target with high PTF is randomly oriented in crystallographic orientations,which is due to that Co atoms have no enough time to migrate and diffuse on substrate and the atomic stacking is *** is worth mentioning that crystallographic orientations of cobalt thin film deposited by target with low PTF are relatively consistent,resulting in relatively higher remanence *** addition,HRTEM analysis indicates that the external magnetic field during sputtering drives the Co grains to arrange in a regular order with(002) orientation,leading to the improvement in remanence ratios.

Glaciers in the eastern Pamir are important for water resources and the social and economic development of the *** the last 50 years,these glaciers have shrunk and lost ice mass due to climate *** order to understand recent glacier dynamics in the region,a new inventory was compiled from Landsat TM/ETM+ images acquired in2009,free of clouds and with minimal snow cover on the glacierized *** first glacier inventory of the area was also updated by digitizing glacier outlines from topographical maps that had been modified and verified using aerial *** glacier area decreased by 10.8%±1.1%,mainly attributed to an increase in air temperature,although precipitation,glacier size and topographic features also combined to affect the general shrinkage of the *** 19.3–21.4 km^3 estimated glacier mass loss has contributed to an increase in river runoff and water resources.

Sensitivity analysis and probability modelling of the structural response of a single-layer reticulated dome subjected to an external blast loading

The structural response of a single-layer reticulated dome to external explosions is shaped by many variables,and the associated uncertainties imply non-deterministic *** deterministic methods for predicting the consequences of specific explosions do not account for these ***,the impact of the uncertainties associated with these input variables on the structures’response needs to be studied and *** this study,a parametric uncertainty analysis was conducted ***,local and global sensitivity analyses were carried out to identify the drivers of the structural dynamic response.A probabilistic structural response model was established based on sensitive variables and a reasonable sample ***,some deterministic empirical methods for explosion-resistance design,including the plane blast load model of CONWEP,the curved blast load model under the 50%assurance level,and the 20%mass-increased method,were used for evaluating their *** results of the analyses revealed that the structural response of a single-layer reticulated dome to an external blast loading is lognormally ***,the MB0.5 method based on the curved reflector load model yielded results with a relatively stable assurance rate and reliability,but CONWEP did not;thus,the 1.2MB0.5 method can be used for making high-confidence simple *** addition,the results indicated that the structural response is very sensitive to the explosion *** on these results,it is suggested that for explosion proofing,setting up a defensive barrier is more effective than structural strengthening.

A 3-D mathematical model was presented for the cooling process of iron ore pellets based on the laws of mass, momentum, and heat transfer. The flow, pressure, and temperature fields were obtained by numerical simulation with the commercial software FLUENT. In order to verify the model, a mass and energy balance field test was systematically carried out on an annular cooler in Shougang Mining Company. The maximum relative errors of temperature, pressure, and velocity between computational and testing results are 2.87%, -8.11%, and 7.14%, respectively, indicating the validity of the model. Further, the effects of process parameters, such as pellet diameter, bed thickness, air velocity, and temperature, on the pellet bed temperature profiles were studied.

AIM: To prospectively evaluate the effectiveness and safety of continuous wound infiltration(CWI) for pain management after open gastrectomy. METHODS: Seventy-five adult patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists(ASA) Physical Status Classification System(ASA) grade 1-3 undergoing open gastrectomy were randomized to three groups. Group 1 patients received CWI with 0.3% ropivacaine(group CWI). Group 2 patients received 0.5 mg/m L morphine intravenously by a patient-controlled analgesia pump(PCIA)(group PCIA). Group 3 patients received epidural analgesia(EA) with 0.12% ropivacaine and 20 μg/m L morphine with an infusion at 6-8 m L/h for 48 h(group EA). A standard general anesthetic technique was used for all three groups. Rescue analgesia(2 mg bolus of morphine, intravenous) was given when the visual analogue scale(VAS) score was ≥ 4. The outcomes measured over 48 h after the operation were VAS scores both at rest and during mobilization, total morphine consumption, relative side effects, and basic vital signs. Further results including time to extubation, recovery of bowel function, surgical wound healing,mean length of hospitalization after surgery, and the patient's satisfaction were also ***: All three groups had similar VAS scores during the first 48 h after surgery. Group CWI and group EA, compared with group PCIA, had lower morphine consumption(P < 0.001), less postoperative nausea and vomiting(1.20 ± 0.41 vs 1.96 ± 0.67, 1.32 ± 0.56 vs 1.96 ± 0.67, respectively, P < 0.001), earlier extubation(16.56 ± 5.24 min vs 19.76 ± 5.75 min, P < 0.05, 15.48 ± 4.59 min vs 19.76 ± 5.75 min, P < 0.01), and earlier recovery of bowel function(2.96 ± 1.17 d vs 3.60 ± 1.04 d, 2.80 ± 1.38 d vs 3.60 ± 1.04 d, respectively, P < 0.05). The mean length of hospitalization after surgery was reduced in groups CWI(8.20 ± 2.58 d vs 10.08 ± 3.15 d, P < 0.05) and EA(7.96 ± 2.30 d vs 10.08 ± 3.15 d, P < 0.01) compared with group PCIA.
