In numerical weather prediction(NWP),the parameterization of orographic drag plays an important role in representing subgrid orographic *** subgrid orographic parameters are the key input to the parameterization of orographic ***,the subgrid orographic parameters in most NWP models were produced based on elevation datasets generated many years ago,with a coarse resolution and low *** this paper,using the latest high-quality elevation data and considering the applicable scale range of the subgrid orographic parameters,we construct the orographic parameters,including the subgrid orographic standard deviation,anisotropy,orientation,and slope,that are required as input to the orographic gravity wave drag(OGWD)***,we introduce the newly constructed orographic parameters into the Yin-He Global Spectral Model(YHGSM),optimize the description of the orographic effect in the model,and improve the simulation of two typical heavy rainfall events in beijing and Henan.

Osteoporosis is the most common bone disorder,characterized by low bone mineral density and microarchitectural deterioration of the bone tissue,which increases the susceptibility to *** the past decade,emerging research findings reported the implication of gut microbiota on bone health and osteoporosis *** patients or individuals with a lower bone mineral density exhibit an alteration of the gut microbiota at several taxonomic *** reports demonstrate that gut microbiota regulates bone metabolism through the modulation of the gut function(mineral availability and absorption,gut integrity),the immune system,and the endocrine ***,based on the vital role of gut microbiota on bone health,it has emerged as a novel therapeutic target for the prevention of bone loss and the treatment of ***-based functional food ingredients,such as probiotics,prebiotics,synbiotics,and fermented foods,have been developed to alter the gut microbiota composition and function and thus,to provide benefits to the host bone *** promising initial results,microbial-based therapies are still under ***,additional animal studies and clinical trials are needed to understand the interactions between gut microbiota and bone metabolism before further applications.

Dry-fermented sausages are a good source of bioactive peptides,whose stability against gastrointestinal(GI)digestion determines their *** study focused on evaluating the effect of peptide extracts from sausages fermented with Staphylococcus simulans QB7 during in vitro simulated GI digestion,including peptide profiles and antioxidant and anti-inflammatory *** present in sausages were degraded during digestion,with molecular weight reduced from>12.kDa to1.5 ***,the content of amino acids increased from 381.15 to 52..07 mg/g,especially tyrosine being found only after GI *** anti-inflammatory activities were increased after GI digestion,however,the changes in antioxidant activities were the opposite.A total number of 2.5,2.2.and 386 peptide sequences were identified in undigested,peptic-digested and GI-digested samples,***,BIOPEP-UWM and admetSAR were used to further predict the functional properties and intestinal absorption of the identified peptide sequences from GI ***,18 peptides were discovered to possess either antioxidant or anti-inflammatory capacities.

Effect of diagenetic variation on the static and dynamic mechanical behavior of coral reef limestone

Coral reef limestone at different depositional depths and facies differ remarkably on the textural and mineralogical characteristics,owing to the complex sedimentary *** explore the effects of pore structure and mineral composition associated with diagenetic variation on the mechanical behavior of reef limestone,a series of quasi-static and dynamic compression tests along with microscopic examinations were performed on the reef limestone at shallow and deep burial *** is revealed that the shallow reef limestone(SRL)is classified as a porous aragonite-type carbonate rock with high porosity(55.3±3.2.%and pore *** comparison,the deep reef limestone(DRL)is mainly composed of dense calcite-type calcium carbonate with low porosity(4.9±1.6)%and pore *** DRL strengthened and stiffened by the tight grain framework consistently displays much higher values of the dynamic compressive strength,elastic modulus,brittleness index,and specific energy absorption than those of the *** gap between two types of limestone further increases with an increase in strain *** appears that the failure pattern of SRL is dominated by the inherent defects like weak bonding interfaces and growth lines,revealed by the intricate fracturing network and mixed ***,although the preexisting megapores in DRL may affect the crack propagation on pore tips to a certain distance,it hardly alters the axial splitting failure of DRL under *** stress wave propagation and attenuation in SRL is primarily controlled by the reflection and diffusion caused by plenty mesopores,as well as an energy dissipation in layer-wise pore collapse and adjacent grain crushing,while the stress wave in DRL is highly hinged on the insulation and diffraction induced by the isolated *** process is accompanied by the energy dissipation behavior of inelastic deformation resulted from the pore-emanated microcracking.

Ovotransferrin,an iron-binding glycoprotein,accounting for approximately 12.of egg white protein,is a member of transferrin fam *** previous studies showed that ovotransferrin stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts,while inhibits osteoclastogenesis and resorption *** work aims to study the efficacy of orally administered ovotransferrin on the prevention of osteoporosis using ovariectomized(OVX)Sprague-Dawley *** administration of ovotransferrin showed no negative effect on body weight,food intake and organ *** 12.week treatment,feeding ovotransferrin at a dose of 1%(1 g ovotransferrin/100 g diet)prevented OVX-induced bone loss and maintained relatively high bone mineral density and integrated bone *** serum concentration of biomarkers indicating bone formation was increased in ovotransferrin administration groups,while the bone resorption biomarkers were *** feeding also decreased the production of serum cytokine TNF-αand IL-6,which are two stimulators for osteoclast *** addition to its direct regulatory role on bone turnover,ovotransferrin supplementation might benefit osteoporosis prevention by inhibiting adipogenesis,and regulating immune *** results suggested the potential application of ovotransferrin as a functional food ingredient on the prevention of osteoporosis.

Efficient Untargeted White-Box Adversarial Attacks Based on Simple Initialization

Adversarial examples(AEs) are an additive amalgamation of clean examples and artificially malicious perturbations. Attackers often leverage random noise and multiple random restarts to initialize perturbation starting points, thereby increasing the diversity of AEs. Given the non-convex nature of the loss function, employing randomness to augment the attack's success rate may lead to considerable computational overhead. To overcome this challenge,we introduce the one-hot mean square error loss to guide the initialization. This loss is combined with the strongest first-order attack, the projected gradient descent, alongside a dynamic attack step size adjustment strategy to form a comprehensive attack process. Through experimental validation, we demonstrate that our method outperforms baseline attacks in constrained attack budget scenarios and regular experimental settings. This establishes it as a reliable measure for assessing the robustness of deep learning models. We explore the broader application of this initialization strategy in enhancing the defense impact of few-shot classification models. We aspire to provide valuable insights for the community in designing attack and defense mechanisms.
