The Biodegradable nanoparticles from poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) have been extensively investigated for sustained and targeted/localized delivery of different agents. Many parameters are required in the synthesis of a biodegradable polymeric nanoparticle. We report the synthesis of human serum albumin (HSA)-superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) loaded PLGA nanoparticles. All nanoparticles were characterized using a TEM image, UV-Vis spectroscopy measurements, Zeta Potential, and PPMS for magnetizations. This study described and investigated the interesting phenomenon in the synthesis development of HSA-SPIONs loaded PLGA nanoparticles. The result showed that the stability of HSA-SPIONs loaded PLGA nanoparticles for potential applications such as in protein delivery.

Two Tahiti lime （Citrus latifolia Tan.） experiments were carried out to evaluate the performance of eight standard rootstocks on two different soil locations at Tecoman Colima, Mexico. Rootstocks were selected by their tolerance to Citrus tristeza virus （CTV） and acceptable adaptation to semi-add hot tropics environment. The first trial was planted in ＂Cerrito de Aguilar＂（CA） location which had sandy-loam soil with a fluctuant water table at 100 cm depth. The second experiment was planted in ＂Crucero Tecoman＂（CT） on a sandy deep soil with no water table restriction. At CT location the best Tahiti lime growth, yield and fruit quality were observed on Alemow rootstock. The same combination at CA showed a poor performance and was affected by diseases due to high moisture conditions by the superficial water table. Taiwanica, Swingle citrumelo and Rangpur lime rootstocks were less productive than Alemow, but showed a good adaptation and acceptable yield on both soil conditions. Among them, Swingle citrumelo was a promising rootstock because it showed standard tree growth, good yield and excellent fruit quality. Swingle citrumelo also showed an acceptable performance on soil with high presence ofPhytophthora sp. and moderate levels of calcium carbonate （near to 3,500 ppm）. Taiwanica and Rangpur lime performed well during the six years of the experiment, but trees began to be affected by root diseases. Better performance of most Tahiti lime/rootstocks were found on sandy depth soil than on superficial wet soils.

The association between the growth and water-use efficiency in three populations of C. odorata in Veracruz Mexico （La Antigua, Misantla and Catemaco） from two agroforestry system sites was studied, one in association with corn and another with pipiain. TRP （transpiration）, gs （stomatal conductivity）, CO2A （CO2 assimilation）, WUE （water use efficiency）, height, coverage and stem diameter were measured. The populafon of La Antigua associated with pipian presented the highest WUE （7.13 μmol CO2 m2-sl/mmol H20 ***）, while the population of Catemaco reached high values （10 μmol CO2 m2 sl/mmol H20 m2-s1） in the site associated with corn, the populations established with corn presented a great growth in height and stem diameter. Based on the physiological responses and growth of the studied populations, the towns of La Antigua and Catemaco may be recommended for the establishment of commercial plantations.

The soil temperature is an important microclimatic factor due to the interactions between soil and plant, and the energy exchange with the atmosphere. The soil energy exchange is affected by the incident solar radiation, type of coverage and mainly by the soil thermal properties. Among the soil thermal properties, the soil thermal diffusivity is highlighted because it affects the soil temperature profile and soil heat flux transport and distribution. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate different estimates of soil thermal diffusivity of a Gleyic Solonetz soil in the Brazilian Pantanal. The soil thermal diffusivity was determined by the amplitude, logarithmic, arctangent and the phase methods between 0.01 and 0.03 m, 0.01 and 0.07 m and 0.01 and 0.15 m depth. The soil thermal diffusivity estimated by the four methods showed significant differences and varied over the study period as a function of volumetric soil water content. The soil thermal diffusivity estimated by logarithmic methodshowed better performance at different depths, followed by the method of phase.

There has been a continuous decline in the catches of Limnothrissa m iodon in Lake Kariba since 1994. Given the value and contribution of this sardine in the GDP （gross domestic product） of Zimbabwe, research on its ecology becomes vital. The diet composition of L. miodon in the Sanyati basin of Lake Kariba was explored using numerical and frequency of occurrence methods. Densities of zooplankton species in the riverine and pelagic zones of the basin were established. Zooplankton species were collected at each site using 60 μm mesh plankton, preserved and classified in the laboratory. Limnothrissa miodon samples （500 g） were collected from Kapenta rigs for gut analysis. Diet overlap and relative prey selection was analysed using Schoener index and Chesson＇s index of selection respectively. ANOVA was done to establish the variations in the zooplankton densities in the riverine and pelagic sampling areas as well as proportional occurrences of prey item consumed. Significant differences on proportions of chironomids （f = 1.94, P 〈 0.05）, nauplii （f= 10.24, P 〈 0.05） and Diaphanosoma （f= 20.98, P 〈 0.05） preyed by Kapenta size classes in riverine specimens were noted. Proportion ofchironomids and Bosmina eaten by adult and sub-adult Kapenta in pelagic waters were significantly different （f = 2.55, P 〈 0.05） and （f = 2.21, P 〈 0.05）. A hierarchical cluster analysis using species densities revealed no major divisions in faunal associations among cyclopoids. findings of this study indicate that the densities of zooplankton species between pelagic and riverine sections of the Sanyati basin are different.

The recommended therapy for chronic hepatitis C (CHC) infection is the combination of a Pegylated interferon and Ribavirin. Almost all such patients on combination therapy experience one or more adverse events during the course of treatment. Significant neurological side effects are rare. A few cases of Bell's Palsy, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy and even one case of acute demyelinating polyneuropathy with atypical features for Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) associated with Interferon therapy have been reported but no report of GBS with typical features has been published. We present a case report of typical GBS associated with Peginterferon alfa-2a and Ribavirin used for treatment of CHC infection.
