The paper deals with the numerical modelling of ductile damage responses in heterogeneous materials using the classical second-order homogenization *** scale transition methodology in the multiscale framework is *** structure at the macrolevel is discretized by the triangular C^(1) finite elements obeying nonlocal continuum theory,while the discretization of microstructural volume element at the microscale is conducted by means of the mixed type quadrilateral finite element with the nonlocal equivalent plastic strain as an additional nodal *** ductile damage evolution at the microlevel is modelled by using the gradient enhanced *** macrolevel softening is governed by two criterions expressed by the increase in homogenized damage variable and the threshold of the local equivalent *** softening at each material point at the macrolevel is detected by the critical value of the homogenized damage,where homogenization of the damage variable is performed onlywithin softening *** to the nonlocal continuumtheory applied,a realistic softening behaviour is demonstrated after the damage initiation,compared to the widely used first-order homogenization *** algorithms derived have been embedded into the finite element code ABAQUS by means of the user subroutines and verified on the standard benchmark *** damage evolution at both microlevel and macrolevel has been demonstrated.

Fifty-two samples of Miocene pelitic sedimentary rock from outcrops on Medvednica,Moslavacka Gora and Psunj Mts.,and boreholes in the Sava Depression and the Pozega Sub-depression were *** sediments formed in different marine（with normal and reduced salinity）,brackish,and freshwater environments,depending on the development stage of the Pannonian Basin *** minerals,clay minerals and quartz are the main constituents of all pelitic sedimentary rocks,except in those from Moslavacka Gora Mt in which carbonate minerals are not ***,pyrite,opal-CT,and hematite are present as minor constituents in some *** calcite,dependent on the sedimentary environment and diagenetic changes,high-magnesium calcite,aragonite,dolomite and ankerite/Cadolomite are also *** or illite-smectite is the main clay minerals in the *** constituents,present in almost all samples,are detrital illite and *** some samples chlorite is also present in a low *** elements,trace elements and rare earth elements patterns used in provenance analysis show that all analysed samples have a composition similar to the values of the upper continental crust（UCC）.The contents of major and trace elements as well as SiO2/Al2O3,K2O/Al2O3,Na2O/K2O,Eu/Eu＊,La/Sc,Th/Sc,La/Co Th/Co,Th/Cr,Ce/Ce＊ and LREE/HREE ratios,show that the analysed pelitic sedimentary rocks were formed by weathering of different types of mostly acidic（silicic）,*** rocks.

Torrential flood prevention in the Kolubara river basin

One of the most vulnerable parts to natural hazards in Serbia is Kolubara river basin. In the past, during the period from 1929 to 2013, 121 torrential flood events in the Kolubara river basin were recorded which show that this territory is extremely vulnerable to the torrential floods. The extreme event which occurred in May 2014 causing the catastrophic material damages and casualties was the latest and historical flood. The analysis of natural conditions in the Kolubara basin uniformly showed that this area is predisposed to a greater number of torrential floods due to its geomorphological, hydrological and land use properties. Torrential floods are closely related to the intensity and spatial distribution of erosive processes in the upper part of the Kolubara basin. The estimation of soil erosion potential is generally achieved by Erosion Potential Model(EPM). For the purposes of determining the degree of torrential properties in various water streams in the Kolubara basin, the calculation ofsusceptibility to torrential floods was assessed by Flash Flood Potential Index(FFPI). More than half of the basin area(57.2%) is located within the category of very weak and weak erosion(Z_(sr) = 0.35), but the category of medium erosion is geospatially very common. Such a distribution of medium erosion category provides conditions for generating, i.e. production of sediment which would boost torrential properties of water streams. After the classification of the obtained FFPI values it was determined that 25% of the Kolubara basin is very susceptible to torrents and this data should be seriously taken into consideration. Based on the analyses, the best and most successful manner of defence is prevention which consists of the integrated river basin management system(integrated torrent control system) so that technical works in hydrographic networks of torrents and biological and biotechnical works on the slope of the basin would be the best solution. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a complex clinical entity which can be secondary to many other diseases including hypothyroidism,characterized by lowering of thyroid hormones and increased thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH).A lot of emerging data published recently advocates the hypothesis that hypothyroid induced NAFLD could be a separate clinical entity,even suggesting possible treatment options for NAFLD involving substitution therapy for hypothyroidism along with lifestyle *** addition,a whole new field of research is focused on thyromimetics in NAFLD/NASH treatment,currently in phase 3 clinical *** this critical review we summarized epidemiological and pathophysiological evidence linking these two clinical entities and described specific treatment options with the accent on promising new agents in NAFLD treatment,specifically thyroid hormone receptor(THR)agonist and its metabolites.

Although,liver transplantation serves as the only curative treatment for patients with end-stage liver diseases,it is burdened with complications,which affect survival *** addition to clinical risk factors,contribution of recipient and donor genetic prognostic markers has been extensively studied in order to reduce the burden and improve the *** of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)is one of the most important tools in development of personalized transplant *** provide a better insight in recent developments,we review the studies published in the last three years that investigated an association of recipient or donor SNPs with most common issues in liver transplantation:Acute cellular rejection,development of new-onset diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence,and tacrolimus concentration *** studies confirmed previously established SNP prognostic factors,such as PNPLA3 rs738409 for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease development,or the role of CYP3A5 rs776746 in tacrolimus concentration *** also identified several novel SNPs,with a reasonably strong association,which have the potential to become useful predictors of post-transplant ***,as the studies were typically conducted in one center on relatively low-to-moderate number of patients,verification of the results in other centers is warranted to resolve these ***,of 29 reviewed studies,28 used gene candidate approach and only one implemented a genome wide association *** wide association multicentric studies are needed to facilitate the development of personalized transplant medicine.
