Improving high-temperature oxidation behavior by modifying Al and Co content in Al-Co-Cr-Fe-Ni high-entropy alloy

Composition modification was introduced to improve the oxidation resistance by varying Al and excluding Co from the Al-Co-Cr-Fe-Ni system. Since adjusting the composition shifted the valence electron concentration(VEC) of the alloys, the dual-phase structure of the alloys is expected to be more stable. At low temperatures(T d mixed oxide products. As oxidation temperature increased,only Cr_(2)O_(3)or Al_(2)O_(3)dominated the alloy’s surface. Compared to equiatomic AlCoCrFeNi(5-Equi), nonequiatomic AlCoCrFeNi(5-B 40) and four-component AlCrFeNi(4-B 2013) had better oxidation resistance due to monocrystalline-Al_(2)O_(3)formation. Besides the role of oxide formation, maintaining BCC and B2phases within the alloys is also beneficial to supporting the stable Cr_(2)O_(3)or Al_(2)O_(3).

Sexual selection via female mate choice is thought to have played a key role in the speciation ofhaplochromine cichlids, but a dominant role for visual signals in such processes has lately been called into question. In addition, the possible role of male mating preferences in haplochromine speciation has been little studied. We studied patterns of both female and male mate choice, based exclusively on visual signals, in order to evaluate potential reproductive isolation between two populations of the Lake Malawi haplochromine Labeotropheus fuelleborni. In the first experiment, females were allowed to choose between two males, one from the same population and the other allopatric with respect to the female. Females in this experiment responded more frequently to males from their own population. Similarly, the males in these trials displayed more frequently when presented with females of their own population. In the second experiment, a female was allowed to choose between two males, either both from her own population or both allopatric. In these trials, both males and females from the Katale population interacted significantly more frequently in settings in which all three individuals were from the same population （＂same-population trios＂）, and those from the Chipoka population showed a similar trend. Thus, patterns in both male and female courtship behavior suggest that visual signals contribute to at least incipient reproductive isolation between populations of L. fuelleborni [Current Zoology 56 （ 1 ）： 65-72 2010].

Indirect traumatic optic neuropathy(ITON) refers to optic nerve injury resulting from impact remote to the optic nerve. The mechanism of injury is not understood, and there are no confirmed protocols for prevention, mitigation or treatment. Most data concerning this condition comes from case series of civilian patients suffering blunt injury, such as from sports- or motor vehicle-related concussion, rather than military-related ballistic or blast damage. Research in this field will likely require the development of robust databases to identify patients with ITON and follow related outcomes, in addition to both in-vivo animal and virtual human models to study the mechanisms of damage and potential therapies.

Sex differences in the susceptibility of SARS-CoV-2 infection and severity have been controversial,and the underlying mechanisms of COVId-19 in a sex-specific manner remain *** we inspected sex differences in SARS-CoV-2 infection,hospitalization,admission to the intensive care unit(ICU),sera inflammatory biomarker profiling,and single-cell RNA-sequencing(scRNA-seq)profiles across nasal,bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF),and peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)from COVId-19 patients with varying degrees of disease *** propensity score-matching observations revealed that male individuals have a 29%elevated likelihood of SARS-CoV-2 positivity,with a hazard ratio(HR)1.32(95%confidence interval[Cl]1.18-1.48)for hospitalization and HR 1.51(95%Cl 1.24-1.84)for admission to *** from male patients at hospital admission had elevated neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and elevated expression of inflammatory markers(C-reactive protein and procalcitonin).We found that SARS-CoV-2 entry factors,including ACE2,TMPRSS2,FURIN,and NRP1,have elevated expression in nasal squamous cells from male individuals with moderate and severe *** observed male-biased transcriptional activation in SARS-CoV-2-infected macrophages from BALF and sputum samples,which offers potential molecular mechanism for sex-biased susceptibility to viral ***-cell interaction network analysis reveals potential epithelium-immune cell interactions and immune vulnerability underlying male-elevated disease severity and mortality in ***,monocyte-elevated expression of Toll-like receptor 7{TLR7)and Bruton tyrosine kinase{BTK)is associated with severe outcomes in males with *** summary,these findings provide basis to decipher immune responses underlying sex differences and designing sex-specific targeted interventions and patient care for COVId-19.

从七十年代中期开始,西方世界参加马拉松比赛的人数迅速增加。在纽约、伦敦和格拉斯哥参加马拉松年赛的人数高达两万,在南非,1985年首次举行的九十公里超马拉松赛上,参加人数竟也超过一万人。马拉松运动之所以有如此大的吸引力,至少部分原因是由于,在群众中进行的流行病学普查的结果。这些结果表明:坚持身体锻炼同减少冠心病的发病有关,这一结果可以进一步解释为;有多高水平的身体锻炼,便会有相应水平的抵御冠心病发生的能力。这一观点得到了下述研究的支持;(1)动物实验显示了运动练习能够防止实验导致的动脉粥样硬化;(2)健身运动达到某一阈值时可能防止冠心病的发生;(3)在受过训练的狗和鼠身上发现防止产生室颤的能力提高了。

Microstructural homogeneity and mechanical behavior of a selective laser melted Ti-35Nb alloy produced from an elemental powder mixture

Although using elemental powder mixtures may provide broad alloy selection at low cost for selective laser melting(SLM), there is still a concern on the resultant microstructural and chemical homogeneity of the produced parts. Hence, this work investigates the microstructure and mechanical properties of a SLM-produced Ti-35 Nb composite(in wt%) using elemental powder. The microstructural characteristics including ? phase, undissolved Nb particles and chemical homogeneity were detailed *** revealed the presence of relatively soft undissolved Nb particles and weak interface bonding around Nb-rich regions in as-SLMed samples. Solid-solution treatment can not only improve chemical homogeneity but also enhance bonding through grain boundary strengthening, resulting in43 % increase in tensile elongation for the heat-treated Ti-35 Nb compared to the as-SLMed counterpart. The analyses of tensile fractures and shear bands further confirmed the correlation between the different phases and the ductility of Ti-35 Nb. In particular, the weak bonding between undissolved Nb and the matrix in the as-SLMed sample reduces its ductility while the ? grains in solid-solution treated Ti-Nb alloy can induce a relatively stable plastic flow therefore better ductility. This work sheds insight into the understanding of homogenization of microstructure and phases of SLM-produced alloys from an elemental powder mixture.

城市自然景区是城市中不可多得的旅游资源和游憩空间,游客旅游行为对城市自然景区的游憩冲击一直是城市旅游管理亟待解决的棘手问题,研究游客的环境责任行为是控制游憩负面冲击,增强城市自然景区可持续发展能力的有效途径。本研究在国内外文献综述和实践观察基础上,将游客社会责任意识引入游客环境冲击感知和环境责任行为的关系研究中,建立了包含生态环境冲击感知、不友善行为感知、游客冲突感知和设施管理冲击感知四个游憩冲击感知变量,自我约束行为和保护促进行为两个环境责任行为变量的"游憩冲击感知—社会责任意识—环境责任行为"理论模型,应用问卷调查和结构方程模型,以长沙岳麓山国家5A级景区为案例,对城市自然景区游客环境责任行为的影响因素及其相互关系展开定量实证研究。研究发现:(1)游客游憩冲击感知对环境责任行为的直接影响作用较小,生态环境冲击感知对环境保护促进行为具有显著正向影响;(2)游客社会责任意识对环境自我约束行为具有显著正向影响,其在游客环境冲击感知、设施管理冲击感知、游客冲突感知与环境责任行为的影响关系中起中介作用;(3)游客冲击感知对社会责任意识的影响主要表现为游客生态环境冲击感知和设施管理冲击感知对游客社会责任意识具有显著的正向影响,而游客冲突感知对游客社会责任意识具有显著的负向影响。根据研究结论,文章最后指出城市自然景区游客环境责任行为若干管理启示。
