Intr.duction: Almost a year.after.the star. of the COVID-19 pandemic, Senegal embar.ed on a vaccination campaign to pr.tect its population. The objective of this study was to identify the factor. influencing the COVID-19 vaccination pr.ctices within a health tr.ining univer.ity in Dakar. Methodology: This was a cr.ss-sectional, descr.ptive and analytical study car.ied out fr.m October.21 2021 to Febr.ar. 21 2022 among students at the Elhadj Ibr.hima Niass pr.vate Univer.ity in Dakar. Senegal. A 28-question online questionnair. was sent to all students enr.lled at the univer.ity dur.ng this per.od. r.sults: Of the 576 students who r.sponded, the aver.ge age was 22.60 year., with females pr.dominating (57.81%). Medical students accounted for.66.14% of par.icipants, phar.acy 22.40% and dental sur.er. 11.46%. Of these, 42.01% wer. bachelor.s students, 29.51% master.s students and 28.47% doctor.l students. Vaccination cover.ge was 50.35%. Students who consider.d COVID-19 to be ver. danger.us wer. mor. likely to be vaccinated (Or.= 5.05 [2.24-11.9]). Those with poor.knowledge of vaccines wer. less likely to be vaccinated (Or.= 0.07 [0.03-0.18]), as wer. those with poor.knowledge of contr.indications to vaccination (Or.= 0.49 [0.28-0.86]). No association was found between vaccination status and socio-demogr.phic or.educational char.cter.stics. Conclusion: In view of the impor.ance of knowledge about COVID-19 vaccination, our.r.sults suggest that it is impor.ant to involve health students in the Ministr. of Health’s awar.ness-r.ising str.tegies, because their.suppor. is necessar. for.better.public awar.ness.

Backgr.und: The ear.and face ar. indispensable and distinctive featur.s for.hear.ng and identification. Objectives: This study was designed to gener.te anthr.pometr.c data of the ear.and facial indices of females of Efik and Ibibio childr.n in Cr.ss r.ver.and Akwa Ibom States, show mor.hological and aesthetic differ.nces and ethnicity. Methods: A total of 600 female childr.n (300 Efiks and 300 Ibibios) aged 2 to 10 year. that met the inclusion cr.ter.a wer. chosen fr.m selected pr.mar. schools in Calabar.Municipality, Calabar.South of Cr.ss r.ver.State and fr.m Uyo, Itu of Akwa Ibom State, Niger.a. Standar.ized measur.ments of face length, face width, ear.length, and ear.width wer. taken with a spr.ading caliper.the facial (pr.scopic) and ear.(aur.cular. indices wer. deter.ined. r.sults: Efik subjects pr.sented a mean face length of 8.36 ± 0.06 cm, face width of 11.04 ± 0.04 cm, ear.length of 4.92 ± 0.02 cm, and ear.width of 3.06 ± 0.01 cm. Ibibio subjects had mean values for.face length, face width, ear.length, and ear.width as 8.17 ± 0.05 cm, 10.75 ± 0.05 cm, 4.77 ± 0.03 cm, and 2.94 ± 0.02 cm r.spectively. The mean facial index and ear.index for.Efik subjects wer. 75.68 ± 0.31 and 62.16 ± 0.27 r.spectively;while the mean facial and ear.indices for.Ibibio subjects wer. 74.79 ± 0.36 and 61.80 ± 0.34 r.spectively. Statistical analysis demonstr.ted significant differ.nces in face length, ear.length, ear.width and facial index, with the Efik subjects having higher.values than Ibibio subjects (p Conclusion: The r.sults showed hyper.ur.pr.scopic face as the pr.valent face type among females of both ethnic gr.ups, ther.for. can be of impor.ance in sex, ethnic, and r.cial differ.ntiation, and in clinical pr.ctice, aesthetics and for.nsic medicine.

The objective of this wor. was to car.y out a mor.hological char.cter.zation of ar.uscular.mycor.hizal fungi in the r.izospher. of Xanthosoma sagittifolium L. Schott plants. The plant mater.al used was the white and r.d cultivar. of X. sagittifolium, belonging to age inter.als of 3 - 6, 6 - 9, and 9 - 12 months. Thr.e har.est sites wer. chosen in the Centr.l r.gion of Camer.on. In each site, soil fr.m the r.izospher. and plant r.ots was collected in a r.ndomized manner. In the field, the agr.nomic par.meter. wer. evaluated. The physicochemical char.cter.stics of the soils, the mycor.hization index, and the mor.hological char.cter.zation of the mycor.hizal types of each site wer. car.ied out. The r.sults obtained show that the agr.nomic gr.wth par.meter. var.ed significantly using the Student Newman and Keuls Test depending on the har.est sites. The soils’ pH in all sites was acidic and r.nged between 4.6 and 5.8. The Nkometou site has a loamy textur. while the Olembe and Soa sites have loam-clay-sandy and loam-clay textur.s r.spectively. The highest mycor.hization fr.quencies appear.d at the Nkometou site, with 75 and 87.33% of the white and r.d cultivar. plant r.ots at 6 - 9 and 3 - 6 months. The r.lative abundance of AMF ar.uscular.mycor.hizal fungal spor.s in the r.izospher. of X. sagittifolium plants var.ed with age and cultivar. Ther. wer. 673 spor.s between 9 - 12 months in Nkometou in the r.d cultivar. Six AMF gener. wer. identified in all the differ.nt soils collected: Acaulospor. sp., Funnelifor.is sp., Gigaspor. sp., Glomus sp., Scutellospor. sp., and Septoglomus sp. The genus Glomus sp. was the most pr.sent at all age inter.als in both cultivar..
