The progress of tissue-engineering technology has realized development of new therapies to treat various disorders by using cultured cells. Cell-and tissue-based therapies have been successfully applied to human patients, and several tissue-engineered products have been approved by the regulatory agencies and are commercially available. In the review article, we describe our experience of development and clinical application of cell sheet-based regenerative *** mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) have been shown to be useful for removal of gastrointestinal neoplasms with less invasiveness compared with open surgery, especially in esophageal surgery. However, postoperative inflammation and stenosis are major complications observed after intensive mucosal resection. Therefore, we have developed novel regenerative medicine to prevent such complications and promote wound healing of esophageal mucosa after EMR or ESD. Transplantable oral mucosal epithelial cell sheets were fabricated from patients' own oral mucosa. Immediately after EMR or ESD, fabricated autologous cell sheets were endoscopically transplanted to the ulcer sites. We performed a preclinical study with a canine model. In human clinical settings, cell culture and cell sheet fabrication were performed in clean rooms according to good manufacturing practice guidelines, and pharmaceutical drugs were used as supplements to culture medium in place of research regents used in animal study. We believe that cell-based regenerative medicine would be useful to improve quality of life of patients after EMR or ESD.

The pinning characteristics of a single crystal NdBa2Cu3Oy superconductor at low (40 K), intermediate (77.3 K) and high (88 K) temperatures were investigated. The experimental results of the critical current density Jc and the apparent pinning potential * 0 U which estimated from magnetic relaxation measurements are compared with the theoretical analysis based on the flux creep-flow model, taking the distribution of the flux pinning strength into account. The number of flux lines in the flux bundle (g2), the most probable value of pinning strength (Am), distribution width of pinning strength (σ2) and other pinning parameters such as m, γ, δ are determined so that a good fit is obtained between the experimental and theoretical results. The behavior of these parameters is discussed in correspondence to the pinning characteristics of low, intermediate and high temperatures. The observed results are approximately consistent with the theoretical predictions of Brandt et al. model of the order-disorder transition.

Introduction Recently,bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) have been reported to repair chronically infracted myocardium with direct ***,it is very difficult to localize the injected cells onto the ischemic area to regenerate sufficient cardiac mass in the thinned scar *** overcome the problem,we have utilized our cell sheet technology based on temperature-responsive culture *** the culture temperature is reduced from 37℃to 20℃,all cells connected via cell-cell junction proteins are harvested as a single sheet without using proteolytic *** technology allows us to transplant stem cells in vivo for treatment heart disease without the problems mention in the *** Male Clawn mini pigs were used in this *** marrow(5-7 mL)was collected under general anesthesia. 纤维素纤维用邻苯二甲酸酐和丁二酸酐进行化学处理。对抗MRSA,S·金霉素,K·肺炎细菌和T·mentagrophytes（抗细菌和抗真菌活性） ,及其它们的洗涤耐久性进行了评价。用丁二酐醍处理的样品抗S·金霉素和MRSA的抗菌活性优于邻苯二甲酸酐处理的样品。但对于抵抗K·肺炎细菌,这两种处理方法的结果无明显差别。经过10次重复循环洗涤后,抗菌活性略有降低, ,但耐洗涤性仍然保持在某个较高的水平,并且比商用抗菌除臭产品的性能优越。除此之外,改性的纤维具有预防革兰氏阳性细菌,革兰氏阴性细菌和真菌繁殖的作用。因此,化学改性的纤维素纤维表明其作为控制各种包括MRSA在内的医用传染性细菌的流行的助剂是可能的。

AIM To compare the functional outcomes of traumatic and non-traumatic rotator cuff tears after arthroscopic repair. METHODS Eighty-seven patients with rotator cuff tears following arthroscopic treatment were divided into traumatic and non-traumatic tear groups. Postoperative muscle strength and outcomes using the modified University of California, Los Angeles score were evaluated. Sex, age, affected limb and dominant limb were correlated between groups. Muscle strength of the repaired and unaffected shoulders was compared. Rotator cuff injury size was measured. RESULTS Of the 87 patients who underwent rotator cuff repairs, 35 had traumatic tears and 52 had non-traumatic tears. In patients with non-traumatic tears, the average age was 59 years, 74.5% were female, 96.1% were righthand dominant and 92.3% had their dominant shoulder affected. Patients with traumatic tears were 59.5 yearsold on average, 51.4% were female, 91.4% were righthand dominant and 88.5% had their dominant shoulder affected. No difference existed in the mean modified University of California, Los Angeles score between patients with traumatic tears(33.7) compared with those with non-traumatic tears(32.8). No strength differences were observed between groups: The strength difference between the non-affected and affected sides was 1.21 kg in the non-traumatic group and 1.39 kg in the traumatic group(P = 0.576), while the strength ratio between the non-affected/affected sides was 0.805 in the nontraumatic group and 0.729 in the traumatic group(P = 0.224). CONCLUSION The functional results of traumatic rotator cuff repairs are similar to non-traumatic tears. Both outcomes are satisfactory.
