Optimization for epitaxial fabrication of infinite-layer nickelate superconductors

The discovery of nickelates superconductor creates exciting opportunities to unconventional superconductivity. However, its synthesis is challenging and only a few groups worldwide can obtain samples with zero-resistance. This problem becomes the major barrier for this field. From plume dynamics perspective, we found the synthesis of superconducting nickelates is a complex process and the challenge is twofold, i.e., how to stabilize an ideal infinite-layer structure Nd_(0.8)Sr_(0.2)NiO_(2), and then how to make Nd_(0.8)Sr_(0.2)NiO_(2) superconducting? The competition between perovskite Nd_(0.8)Sr_(0.2)NiO_(3) and Ruddlesden−Popper defect phase is crucial for obtaining infinite-layer structure. Due to inequivalent angular distributions of condensate during laser ablation, the laser energy density is critical to obtain phase-pure Nd_(0.8)Sr_(0.2)NiO_(3). However, for obtaining superconductivity, both laser energy density and substrate temperature are very important. We also demonstrate the superconducting Nd_(0.8)Sr_(0.2)NiO_(2) epitaxial film is very stable in ambient conditions up to 512 days. Our results provide important insights for fabrication of superconducting infinite-layer nickelates towards future device applications.

Fluorescence Anisotropy(FA)is an effective biochemical detection method based on molecular *** oxide(GO)has been extensively used as an FA ***,the enhancement of FA by GO alone is limited and the strong scattering of GO will easily make the measurement of FA *** order to address these problems,an octopus-like DNA nanostructure(ODN)was designed and coupled with GO to enhance the FA together in this *** mimicking the multi-clawed structure of the octopus,the ODN can be adsorbed on GO tightly,which not only could improve the sensitivity because of the double FA enhancement abilities of GO and ODN,but also could improve the specificity due to the decrease of the nonspecific interaction in complex ***,ODN could maintain a certain distance between the fluorophore and GO to reduce the fluorescence quenching efficiency of GO,which could improve the *** method has been applied for the detection of hepatitis B virus DNA(HBV-DNA)in a range of 1-50 nmol/L and the limit of detection(LOD)was 330 pmol/*** addition,the proposed method has been successfully utilized to detect HBV-DNA in human serum,indicating that this method has a great practical application prospect.

Dendritic nanomedicine enhances chemoimmunotherapy by disturbing metabolism of cancer-associated fibroblasts for deep penetration and activating function of immune cells

Inefficient drug penetration hurdled by the stroma in the tumor tissue leads to a diminished therapeutic effect for drugs and a reduced infiltration level of immune ***,we constructed a PEGylated dendritic epirubicin(Epi)prodrug(Epi-P4D)to regulate the metabolism of cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs),thus enhancing Epi penetration into both multicellular tumor spheroids(MTSs)and tumor tissues in mouse colon cancer(CT26),mouse breast cancer(4T1)and human breast cancer(MDA-MB-231)*** cytotoxicity against CT26 MTSs and remarkable antitumor efficacy of Epi-P4D were ascribed to reduced fibronectin,α-SMA,and collagen ***,thinning of the tumor tissue stroma and efficient eradication of tumor cells promoted the immunogenic cell death effect for dendritic cell(DC)maturation and subsequent immune activation,including elevating the CD4^(+)T cell population,reducing CD4^(+)and CD8^(+)T cell hyperactivation and exhaustion,and amplifying the natural killer(NK)cell proportion and effectively activating *** a result,this dendritic nanomedicine thinned the stroma of tumor tissues to enhance drug penetration and facilitate immune cell infiltration for elevated antitumor efficacy.

Studies have shown that non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)may be associated with sleep *** order to explore the explicit relationship between the two,we systematically reviewed the effects of sleep disorders,especially obstructive sleep apnea(OSA),on the incidence of NAFLD,and analyzed the possible mechanisms after adjusting for confounding *** is independently associated with sleep *** sleep disorders may be the cause of the onset and aggravation of *** excessive or insufficient sleep duration,poor sleep quality,insomnia,sleep-wake disorders,and OSA may increase the incidence of *** that some research suggests a unidirectional causal link between the two,specifically,the onset of NAFLD is identified as a result of changes in sleep characteristics,and the reverse relationship does not hold ***,there is still a lack of specific research elucidating the reasons behind the higher risk of developing sleep disorders in individuals with *** research is needed to establish a clear relationship between NAFLD and sleep *** will lay the groundwork for earlier identification of potential patients,which is crucial for earlier monitoring,diagnosis,effective prevention,and treatment of NAFLD.

Clinical characteristics of peripapillary hyperreflective ovoid mass-like structures in myopic children

AIM:To describe the characteristics of peripapillary hyperreflective ovoid mass-like structure(PHOMS)in myopic children and to investigate factors associated with ***:This retrospective observational study included 101 eyes of 101 children(age≤17y)with *** included patients underwent comprehensive clinical *** nerve canal parameters,including disc diameter,optic nerve head(ONH)tilt angle,and border tissue angle were measured using serial enhanced-depth imaging spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT).Based on the optic disc drusen consortium’s definition of PHOMS,eyes were classified as PHOMS group and non-PHOMS *** was categorized according to ***:Sixty-seven(66.3%)eyes were found with *** PHOMS could only be detected by optical coherence tomography(OCT).Medium PHOMS could be seen with blurred optic disc borders corresponding to *** most frequent location of PHOMS was at the nasosuperior(91%,61 of 67 eyes)to ONH *** axial length and spherical equivalent were more myopic in the PHOMS group than in the non-PHOMS group(both P<0.001).ONH tilt angle was also significantly greater in PHOMS group than in non-PHOMS group[8.90(7.16-10.54)vs 3.93(3.09-5.25),P<0.001].Border tissue angle was significantly smaller in PHOMS group than in non-PHOMS group[29.70(20.90-43.81)vs 45.62(35.18-60.45),P<0.001].In the multivariable analysis,spherical equivalent(OR=3.246,95%CI=1.209-8.718,P=0.019)and ONH tilt angle(OR=3.275,95%CI=1.422-7.542,P=0.005)were significantly correlated with *** was no disc diameter associated with *** the linear regression analysis,border tissue angle was negatively associated with PHOMS height(β=-2.227,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:PHOMS is associated with optic disc tilt and optic disc nasal shift in *** diameter is not a risk factor for *** changes in ONH caused by axial elongation facilitated an understanding of the mechanism of PHOMS.

Ticks are a major parasite on the Qınghai-Tibet Plateau,western China,and represent an economic burden to agriculture and animal *** research on tick-borne pathogens that threaten humans and animals,the viromes of dominant tick species in this area remain *** this study,we collected Dermacentor nuttalli ticks near Qınghai Lake and identified 13 viruses belonging to at least six families through metagenomic *** viruses were of high abundance in pools,including Xınjiang tick-associated virus 1(XJTAV1),and three novel viruses:Qınghai Lake virus 1,Qınghai Lake virus 2(QHLV1,and QHLV2,unclassified),and Qınghai Lake virus 3(QHLV3,genus Uukuvirus of family Phenuiviridae in order Bunyavirales),which lacks the M *** minimum infection rates of the four viruses in the tick groups were 8.2%,49.5%,6.2%,and 24.7%,respectively,suggesting the prevalence of these viruses in *** ticks.A putative M segment of QHLV3 was identified from the next-generation sequencing data and further characterized for its signal peptide cleavage site,N-glycosylation,and transmembrane ***,we probed the L,M,and S segments of other viruses from sequencing data of other tick pools by using the putative M segment sequence of *** revealing the viromes of *** ticks,this study enhances our understanding of tick-borne viral communities in highland *** putative M segment identified in a novel uukuvirus suggests that previously identified uukuviruses without M segments should have had the same genome organization as typical *** findings will facilitate virus discovery and our understanding of the phylogeny of tick-borne uukuviruses.

Nitro-oleic acid ameliorates erectile dysfunction in a streptozotocin-induced rat model of diabetes by inhibiting oxidative stress and apoptosis and activating the NO/cGMP pathway

The major vascular complications associated with diabetes make the management of diabetic mellitus erectile dysfunction(DMED)a challenging *** factors contributing to DMED include oxidative stress,nitric oxide(NO)/cyclic guanosine monophosphate(cGMP)pathway activation,and apoptosis,while nitro-oleic acid(NO,-OA)has been shown to be beneficial in treating these aspects of this ***,herein,investigated the effects and possible mechanisms of NO,-OA on erectile function as assessed in a streptozotocin-induced rat model of *** results revealed that the erectile function of DMED rats was significantly impaired compared with that of the control ***,in response to 4 weeks of NO,-OA treatment,there was an improvement in erectile *** expression of oxidative stress-related indicators was significantly increased and the NO/cGMP pathway was impaired in the DMED *** expression of proapoptotic factors was increased,while that of antiapoptotic factors was decreased in the DMED ***,the cell morphology in the cavernous tissue of the DMED group also changed ***,-OA treatment significantly reversed all these changes observed in the DMED *** conclusion,NO,-OA treatment partially improved erectile function in DMED rats through mechanisms that included inhibition of oxidative stress,activation of the NO/cGMP pathway,and a reduction in apoptosis.

Safflower Yellow Inhibits Progression of Hepatocellular Carcinoma by Modulating Immunological Tolerance via FAK Pathway

Objective To explore the anti-tumor effect of safflower yellow(SY)against hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and the underlying potential *** An in vitro model was established by mixing Luc-Hepa1-6 cells and CD3^(+)CD8^(+)T cells,followed by adding programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)antibody(Anti-mPD-1)with or without *** apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry and the level of inflammatory cytokines was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** protein levels of programmed cell death 1 ligand 1(PD-L1),chemokine ligand(CCL5),C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10(CXCL10)were measured by Western *** in situ animal model was established in mice followed by treatment with anti-mPD-1 with or without *** imaging was monitored with an AniView 100 imaging *** establish the FAK-overexpressed Luc-Hepa1-6 cells,cells were transfected with adenovirus containing pcDNA3.1-FAK for 48 *** The fluorescence intensity,apoptotic rate,release of inflammatory cytokines,and CCL5/CXCL10 secretion were dramatically facilitated by anti-mPD-1(P<0.01),accompanied by an inactivation of PD-1/PD-L1 axis,which were extremely further enhanced by SY(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Increased fluorescence intensity,elevated percentage of CD3+CD8+T cells,facilitated release of inflammatory cytokines,inactivated PD-1/PD-L1 axis,and increased CCL5/CXCL10 secretion were observed in Anti-mPD-1 treated mice(P<0.01),which were markedly enhanced by SY(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Furthermore,the enhanced effects of SY on inhibiting tumor cell growth,facilitating apoptosis and inflammatory cytokine releasing,suppressing the PD-1/PD-L1 axis,and inducing the CCL5/CXCL10 secretion in Anti-mPD-1 treated mixture of Luc-Hepa1-6 cells and CD3+CD8+T cells were abolished by FAK overexpression(P<0.01).Conclusion SY inhibited the progression of HCC by mediating immunological tolerance through inhibiting FAK.

Combining lymph node ratio to develop prognostic models for postoperative gastric neuroendocrine neoplasm patients

BACKGROUND Lymph node ratio(LNR)was demonstrated to play a crucial role in the prognosis of many ***,research concerning the prognostic value of LNR in postoperative gastric neuroendocrine neoplasm(NEN)patients was *** To explore the prognostic value of LNR in postoperative gastric NEN patients and to combine LNR to develop prognostic *** A total of 286 patients from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results database were divided into the training set and validation set at a ratio of 8:2.92 patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University in China were designated as a test *** regression analysis was used to explore the relationship between LNR and disease-specific survival(DSS)of gastric NEN *** survival forest(RSF)algorithm and Cox proportional hazards(CoxPH)analysis were applied to develop models to predict DSS respectively,and compared with the 8th edition American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC)tumornode-metastasis(TNM)*** Multivariate analyses indicated that LNR was an independent prognostic factor for postoperative gastric NEN patients and a higher LNR was accompanied by a higher risk of *** RSF model exhibited the best performance in predicting DSS,with the C-index in the test set being 0.769[95%confidence interval(CI):0.691-0.846]outperforming the CoxPH model(0.744,95%CI:0.665-0.822)and the 8th edition AJCC TNM staging(0.723,95%CI:0.613-0.833).The calibration curves and decision curve analysis(DCA)demonstrated the RSF model had good calibration and clinical ***,the RSF model could perform risk stratification and individual prognosis prediction *** A higher LNR indicated a lower DSS in postoperative gastric NEN *** RSF model outperformed the CoxPH model and the 8th edition AJCC TNM staging in the test set,showing potential in clinical practice.
