Determination of sodium hyaluronate in pharmaceutical formulations by HPLC–UV

A liquid chromatography （HPLC） method with UV detection was developed for determination of sodium hyaluronate in pharmaceutical formulation. Sodium hyaluronate is a polymer of disaccharides, composed of D-glucuronic acid and D-N-acetylglucosamine, linked via alternating 13-1, 4 and D-l, 3 glycosidic bonds. Being a polymer compound it lacks a UV absorbing chromophore. In the absence of a UV absorbing chromophore and highly polar nature of compound, the analysis becomes a major challenge. To overcome these problems a novel method for the determination of sodium hyaluronate was developed and validated based on size exclusion liquid chromatography （SEC） with UV detection. An isocratic mobile phase consisting of buffer 0.05 m potassium dihydrogen phosphate, pH adjusted to 7.0 using potassium hydroxide （10%） was used. Chromatography was carried out at 25 ~C on a BioSep SEC $2000, 300 mm ~ 7.8 mm column. The detection was carded out using variable wavelength UV-vis detector set at 205 nm. The compounds were eluted isocratically at a steady flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. Sodium hyaluronate retention time was about 4.9 min with an asymmetry factor of 1.93. A calibration curve was obtained from 1 to 38 g/mL （r〉0.9998）. Within-day % RSD was 1.0 and between-day % RSD was 1.10. Specificity/selectivity experiments revealed the absence of interference from excipients, recovery from spiked samples for sodium hyaluronate was 99-102. The developed method was applied to the determination of sodium hyaluronate in pharmaceutical drug substance and product.

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the five fundamental principles of Islam,and it is obligatory for healthy muslim adults and *** the fasting month,muslims usually have two meals a day,suhur(before dawn)and iftar(after dusk).However,diabetic patients may face difficulties when fasting,so it is important for medical staff to educate them on safe fasting *** strict fasting can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis,but with proper knowledge,careful planning,and medication adjustment,diabetic muslim patients can fast during *** this review,a literature search was conducted using Pubmed and Google Scholar until may *** other than the English language were *** strategies for managing blood sugar levels during Ramadan include a combination of patient education on nutrition,regular monitoring of blood glucose,medications,and insulin *** therapy can be continued during fasting if properly titrated to the patients’needs,and finger prick blood sugar levels should be assessed *** certain symptoms such as hypoglycemia,hyperglycemia,dehydration,or acute illness occur,or blood glucose levels become too high(>300 mg/dL)or too low(mg/dL),the fast should be *** insulin formulations such as pegylated insulin and medications like tirzepatide,a dual agonist of gastric-inhibitory peptideand glucagonlike-peptide 1 receptors,have shown promise in managing blood sugar levels during ***-insulin dependent medications like sodium-glucose-cotransporter-2 inhibitors,including the Food and Drug Administration-approved ertugliflozin,are also being used to provide additional cardiovascular benefits in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Synthesis of 2-aryl-1-arylmethyl-1H-1,3-benzo[d]imidazoles by the reaction of o-phenylenediamine with substituted aromatic aldehydes in the presence of 1-heptanesulfonic acid sodium salt （10 mol%） at room temperature. The reactions were performed in acetonitrile：water （8：2）. The method was proved to be eco-friendly, convenient and the products were isolated with good yields （82- 90%）.

Zinc oxide is recently being used as a magnetic semiconductor with the introduction of mag-netic *** this work,we report phase pure synthesis of mg and Ni co-substituted ZnO to explore its structure,optical,magnetic and photo-catalytic properties.X-ray di raction analysis reveals the hexagonal wurtzite type structure having P63mc space group without any impurity ***-Vis spectrophotometry demonstrates the variation in bandgap with the addition of mg and Ni content in ZnO *** measurements exhibit a clear boosted magnetization in Ni and mg co-doped compositions with its stable value of bandgap corroborating the structural stability and magnetic tuning for its advanced applications in modern-day spintronic ***-catalytic measurements performed using methyl green degradation demonstrate an enhanced trend of activity in mg and Ni co-doped compositions.

In vivo anticancer activity of vanillin semicarbazone

Objective:To evaluate the anticancer activity of vanillin semicarbazone(VSC) against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC) cells in Swiss albino ***:The compound VSC at three doses(5, 7.5 and 10 mg/kg i.p.) was administered into the intraperitoneal cavity of the EAC inoculated mice to observe its efficiency by studying the cell growth inhibition, reduction of tumour weight,enhancement of survival time as well as the changes in depleted hematological parameters. Allsuch parameters were also studied with a known standard drug bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.).Results:Among the doses studied, 10 mg/kg(i.p.) was found to be quite comparable in potency to that of bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.). The host toxic effects of VSC was found to be ***:It can be concluded that VSC can therefore be considered as potent anticancer agent.

Enhanced acetone sensing performance of nanostructured Sm2O3 doped SnO2 thick films

In the present work, we synthesized Sm2O3 doped SnO2 in order to prepare a selective acetone sensor with fast response, quick recovery and good repeatability. Pure as well as 2 mol.%, 4 mol.%, 6 mol.% and 8 mol.% Sm2O3 doped SnO2 nanostructured samples were synthesized by using a co-precipitation method. The characterization of the samples was done by thermogravimetric and differential thermo-gravimetric analysis（TG-DTA）, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, field emission gun-scanning electron microscopy（FEG-SEm）, energy dispersive analysis by X-rays（EDAX）, high resolution scanning electron microscopy（HR-TEm）, selected area X-ray diffraction（SAED）, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller（BET） and ultraviolet-visible-near infrared（UV-Vis-NIR） spectroscopy techniques. The gas response studies of liquid petroleum gas, ammonia, ethanol and acetone vapor were carried out. The results showed that Sm doping systematically lowered operating temperature and enhanced the gas response and selectivity for acetone. The response and recovery time for 6 mol.% Sm2O3 doped SnO2 thick film at the operating temperature of 250 °C were 15 and 24 s, respectively.

Ammonium metavanadate:A novel catalyst for synthesis of 2-substituted benzimidazole derivatives

Ammonium metavanadate （10 mol%） was found to be a useful catalyst for the synthesis of various 2-substituted aryl benzimidazoles. It was used as an oxidizing agent for the condensation of o-phenylenediamine with different substituted aryl aldehydes at room temperature in ethanol. The method was proved to be simple, convenient and the product was isolated with good yields （79-91%）.

Thalassemia syndrome is a genetic blood disorder induced by the reduction of normal hemoglobin production,resulting in a drop in the size of red blood *** severe forms,it can lead to *** genetic disorder has posed a major burden on public health wherein patients with severe thalassemia need periodic therapy of iron chelation and blood transfusion for ***,controlling thalassemia is extremely important and is made by promoting screening to the general population,particularly among thalassemia *** Twitter is one of the most influential social media platforms for sharing opinions and discussing different topics like people’s health conditions and major public health *** individuals’sentiments in these tweets helps the research centers to formulate strategies to promote thalassemia screening to the *** effective Lexiconbased approach has been introduced in this study by highlighting a classifier called valence aware dictionary for sentiment reasoning(VADER).In this study applied twitter intelligence tool(TWINT),Natural Language Toolkit(NLTK),and VADER constitute the three main *** represents a gold-standard sentiment lexicon,which is basically tailored to attitudes that are communicated by using social *** contribution of this study is to introduce an effective Lexicon-based approach by highlighting a classifier calledVADERto analyze the sentiment of the general population,particularly among thalassemia carriers on the social media platform *** this study,the results showed that the proposed approach achieved 0.829,0.816,and 0.818 regarding precision,recall,together with F-score,*** tweets were crawled using the search keywords,“thalassemia screening,”thalassemia test,“and thalassemia diagnosis”.Finally,results showed that India and Pakistan ranked the highest in mentions in tweets by the public’s conversations on thalassemia screening with 181 and 164 tweets,respectively.

A small focused library of eighteen new 1,2,3-triazole tethered acetophenones has been efficiently prepared via click chemistry approach and evaluated for their antifungal and antioxidant *** antifungal activity was evaluated against five human pathogenic fungal strains：Candida albicans,Fusarium oxysporum,Aspergillus flavus,Aspergillus niger,and Cryptococcus *** the synthesized compounds,9c,9i,and 9p found to be more potent antifungal agents that the reference *** 1,2,3-triazole based derivatives were also evaluated for antioxidant activity,and compound 9h was found to be the most potent antioxidant as compared to the standard ***,molecular docking study of the newly synthesized compounds was performed and results showed good binding mode in the active site of fungal *** enzyme P450 cytochrome ***,the synthesized compounds were also analyzed for ADmE properties and showed potential as good oral drug candidates.
