Laser-induced forward transfer(LIFT)is a direct-writing technique capable of depositing a single dot smaller than the laser wavelength at small shot energy through the laser-induced dot transfer(LIDT)*** deposit a single nanodot in a single shot of laser irradiation,a liquid nanodrop is transferred from donor to receiver and finally solidified via a solid–liquid–solid(SLS)*** conventional LIDT experiments,multi-shots with step scanning have been used to form array ***,interference laser processing can achieve an arrayed process and generate a periodic structure in a single *** this study,a femtosecond laser interference pattern was first applied to LIDT,and an array of nanodots was successfully deposited in a single shot,producing the following unit structures:a single dot,adjoining dots,and stacking *** diameter of the smallest nanodot was 355 nm,and the narrowest gap between two adjoining nanodots was 17.2 *** LIDT technique produces high-purity,catalyst-free that do not require post-cleaning or alignment *** these significant advantages,LIDT can expand the usability of nanodots in a wide range of fields.

Primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment:evaluation of a minimally restricted face-down positioning after pars plana vitrectomy and gas tamponade

AIM:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a minimally restricted face-down postoperative positioning following pars plana vitrectomy(PPV)with gas tamponade for primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD).METHODS:Patients with primary RRD treated with PPV and gas tamponade and followed up for at least 6 mo were selected for the *** phakic eyes underwent simultaneous cataract *** patients were required to be in a postoperative position that prevented downward flow of retinal *** with macular detachment were positioned face-down for only a couple of *** patients were assessed for preoperative and postoperative best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),anatomical retinal reattachment rate,and postoperative ***:In total,40 eyes of 39 patients with primary RRD were included in the study.A single tear was present in 30 eyes(75.0%),multiple retinal tears were present in nine eyes(22.5%),and oral dialysis was present in one eye(2.5%).The anatomical success rate was 90.0%(36 cases)after the primary surgery,and the final anatomical success rate was 100%.The BCVA improved significantly(P<0.001)from 0.75 logarithm angle of resolution(log MAR)preoperatively to 0.12 log MAR at the final *** complications included intraocular pressure elevation(≥25 mm Hg)in 11 patients(27.5%),fibrin formation in two patients(5.0%),pupillary capture of the intraocular lens in two patients(5.0%),and posterior synechia in one patient(2.5%).CONCLUSION:A minimally restricted face-down and flexible postoperative positioning after PPV and gas tamponade for primary RRD is effective and safe.

This paper describes traffic safety approach for developing countries through advanced country historical experience *** for traffic safety analysis,Smeed’s Law is chosen in which number of fatal accidents is function of population and number of *** parameters in Smeed’s Law only affect growing fatal accidents number as each country because there is no parameter which reduces fatal accidents number in the *** improves Smeed’s Law by adding infrastructure parameter *** signal *** are also many parameters to be considered such as traffic regulation,education,traffic information equipment,*** chooses traffic signal installation as a representative parameter in this *** using Japanese historical records,author analyzes the traffic signal installation effectiveness as a fatality reduction parameter with“enhanced Smeed’s Law”.After defining traffic safety parameter by enhanced Smeed’s Law,author applies enhanced Smeed’s Law to Indian *** to new analysis with enhanced Smeed’s Law,author shows that traffic signal installation is required for reduction of fatal accidents but it effects for reducing fatal accidents growing *** the reduction of Indian fatal accidents,it is able to explain that it is necessary to add some more traffic safety policy such as introducing more intelligent traffic signal control based on Japanese traffic safety policy which has been executed during Japanese history by the enhanced Smeed’s Law analysis.

Electric and magnetic fields play an important role in both chemical and physical ***,since the coupling efficiency between magnetic fields and electrons is low in comparison with that between electric fields and electrons in the visible wavelength region,the magnetic field is negligible in photo-induced ***,we performed photo-etching of ZrO_(2) nano-stripe structures,and identified an etching-property polarisation ***,the etching rate and etched profiles depend on the structure *** evaluate this polarisation-dependent etching,we performed numerical calculations using a finite-difference time-domain ***,the numerical results revealed that the polarisation-dependent etching properties were determined by the magnetic field distributions,rather than the electric field *** nano-scale structures induce a localised magnetic field,the discovery of this etching dependence on the magnetic field is expected to introduce a new perspective on advanced nano-scale structure fabrication.

Levofloxacin （LOFX）, which is well-known as an antibiotic medicament, was shown to be useful as a 452-nm blue emitter for white organic light-emitting diodes （OLEDs）. In this paper, the fabricated white OLED contains a 452-nm blue emitting layer （thickness of 30 nm） with 1 wt% LOFX doped in CBP （4,4＇-bis（carbazol-9-yl）biphenyl） host and a 584-nm orange emitting layer （thickness of 10 nm） with 0.8 wt% DCJTB （4-（dicyanomethylene）-2-tert-butyl-6-（1,1,7,7- tetramethyljulolidin-4-yl-vinyl）-4H-pyran） doped in CBE which are separated by a 20-nm-thick buffer layer of TPBi （2,2＇,2＂-（benzene-1,3,5-triyl）-tri（1-phenyl-lH-benzimidazole）. A high color rendering index （CRI） of 84.5 and CIE chromaticity coordinates of （0.33, 0.32）, which is close to ideal white emission CIE （0.333, 0.333）, are obtained at a bias voltage of 14 V. Taking into account that LOFX is less expensive and the synthesis and purification technologies of LOFX are mature, these results indicate that blue fluorescence emitting LOFX is useful for applications to white OLEDs although the maximum current efficiency and luminance are not high. The present paper is expected to become a milestone to using medical drug materials for OLEDs.

DNS Analysis on the Indirect Relationship between the Local Burning Velocity and the Flame Displacement Speed of Turbulent Premixed Flames

The local burning velocity and the flame displacement speed are the dominant properties in the mechanism of turbulent premixed combustion. The flame displacement speed and the local burning velocity have been investigated separately, because the flame displacement speed can be used for the discussion of flame-turbulence interactions and the local burning velocity can be used for the discussion of the inner structure of turbulent premixed flames. In this study, to establish the basis for the discussion on the effects of turbulence on the inner structure of turbulent premixed flames, the indirect relationship between the flame displacement speed and the local burning velocity was investigated by the flame stretch, the flame curvature, and the tangential strain rate using DNS database with different density ratios. It was found that for the local tangential strain rate and the local flame curvature, the local burning velocity and the flame displacement speed had the opposite correlations in each density ratio case. Therefore, it is considered that the local burning velocity and the flame displacement speed have a negative correlation.

Recently, nanostructures such as nanocrystals and nanoaggregates have attracted much attention in many quarters of materials, electronics, and biology to create higher-value-added functional nanoscale materials and films. In this research, the fabrication of nanoaggregates on ultrathin photoconductive films of poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVCz) by applying thermal treatment is demonstrated. The structure and size are discussed on the basis of the results of atomic force microscope images. As a result, after thermal treatment of these films above the glass transition temperature (Tg) of PVCz, different types of surface morphological changes were induced showing a dependence on the tacticity of PVCz. Radically polymerized PVCz(r) ultrathin film showed small aggregates with heights of ~8 nm on the film surface after thermal treatment, while cationically polymerized PVCz(c), which has higher isotactic diad fractions than PVCz(r), indicated similar aggregates on the film surface, although the number of aggregates was smaller than PVCz(r). It is considered that these different phenomena depend on the tacticity of PVCz and the interaction between PVCz molecules and the substrate surface.

Red Light-Induced Phytochrome Relocation into the Nucleus in Adiantum capillus-veneris

Phytochromes in seed plants are known to move into nuclei in a red light-dependent manner with or without interacting factors. Here, we show phytochrome relocation to the nuclear region in phytochrome-dependent Adiantum capillus-veneris spore germination by partial spore-irradiation experiments. The nuclear or non-nuclear region of imbibed spores was irradiated with a microbeam of red and/or far-red light and the localization of phytochrome involved in spore germination was estimated from the germination rate. The phytochrome for spore germination existed throughout whole spore under darkness after imbibition, but gradually migrated to the nuclear region following red light irradiation. In- tracellular distribution of PHY-GUS fusion proteins expressed in germinated spores by particle bombardment showed the migration of Acphy2, but not Acphyl, into nucleus in a red light-dependent manner, suggesting that Acphy2 is the photoreceptor for fern spore germination.

In general,the treatment methods for esophageal achalasia are largely classified into four groups,including drug therapy using nitrite or a calcium channel blocker,botulinum toxin injection,endoscopic therapy such as endoscopic balloon dilation,and surgery. Various studies have suggested that the most effective treatment of esophageal achalasia is surgical therapy. The basic concept of this surgical therapy has not changed since Heller proposed esophageal myotomy for the purpose of resolution of lower esophageal obstruction for the first time in 1913,but the most common approach has changed from openchest surgery to laparoscopic surgery. Currently,the laparoscopic surgery has been the procedure of choice for the treatment of esophageal achalasia. During the process of the transition from open-chest surgery to laparotomy,to thoracoscopic surgery,and to laparoscopic surgery,the necessity of combining antireflux surgery has been recognized. There is some debate as to which type of antireflux surgery should be selected. The Toupet fundoplication may be the most effective in prevention of postoperative antireflux,but many medical institutions have selected the Dor fundoplication which covers the mucosal surface exposed by myotomy. Recently,a new endoscopic approach,peroral endoscopic myotomy(POEM),has received attention. Future studies should examine the long-term outcomes and whether POEM becomes the gold standard for the treatment of esophageal achalasia.
