A parabolic trough solar collector(PTSc)converts solar radiation into thermal energy.However,low thermal efficiency of PTSc poses a hindrance to the deployment of solar thermal power plants.Thermal performance of PTSc is enhanced in this study by incorporating magnetic nanoparticles into the working fluid.The circular receiver pipe,with dimensions of 66 mm diameter,2 mm thickness,and 24 m length,is exposed to uniform temperature and velocity conditions.The working fluid,Therminol-66,is supplemented with Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles at concentrations ranging from 1%to 4%.The findings demonstrate that the inclusion of nanoparticles increases the convective heat transfer coefficient(HTc)of the PTSc,with higher nanoparticle volume fractions leading to greater heat transfer but increased pressure drop.The thermal enhancement factor(TEF)of the PTSc is positively affected by the volume fraction of nanoparticles,both with and without a magnetic field.Notably,the scenario with a 4%nanoparticle volume fraction and a magnetic field strength of 250 G exhibits the highest TEF,indicating superior thermal performance.These findings offer potential avenues for improving the efficiency of PTScs in solar thermal plants by introducing magnetic nanoparticles into the working fluid.

The visions of Industry 4.0 and 5.0 have reinforced the industrial environment.They have also made artificial intelligence incorporated as a major facilitator.Diagnosing machine faults has become a solid foundation for automatically recognizing machine failure,and thus timely maintenance can ensure safe operations.Transfer learning is a promising solution that can enhance the machine fault diagnosis model by borrowing pre-trained knowledge from the source model and applying it to the target model,which typically involves two datasets.In response to the availability of multiple datasets,this paper proposes using selective and adaptive incremental transfer learning(sa-ITL),which fuses three algorithms,namely,the hybrid selective algorithm,the transferability enhancement algorithm,and the incremental transfer learning algorithm.It is a selective algorithm that enables selecting and ordering appropriate datasets for transfer learning and selecting useful knowledge to avoid negative transfer.The algorithm also adaptively adjusts the portion of training data to balance the learning rate and training time.The proposed algorithm is evaluated and analyzed using ten benchmark datasets.compared with other algorithms from existing works,sa-ITL improves the accuracy of all datasets.Ablation studies present the accuracy enhancements of the sa-ITL,including the hybrid selective algorithm(1.22%-3.82%),transferability enhancement algorithm(1.91%-4.15%),and incremental transfer learning algorithm(0.605%-2.68%).These also show the benefits of enhancing the target model with heterogeneous image datasets that widen the range of domain selection between source and target domains.

Sophisticated analytical instruments are used for quality evaluation and scientific validation to compliance the Sophisticated analytical instruments are used for quality evaluation and scientific validation to compliance the market demands.Recently,increase in demand of curcuma longa has led to a high swing in small and medium food industry.The present review is devoted to an in-depth information on metabolite database of c.longa from different analytical techniques such as high-performance thin-layer chromatography(HPTLc),liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry,gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance.This work highlights different extraction methods,phytochemistry along with structure activity relationship,nutritional profiling,market viability and pharmacology of c.longa.The bioactives of c.longa depends on various factors such as plants growth,temperature,humidity,soil type,collection,drying and extraction process.These factors can contribute in quality evaluation of the food supplements if need to be included.The introduction of omics approaches can helpful to explore the quality and identification of potential lead of c.longa.The results could play an essential role in the area of food-phyto based profiling.Further,metabolomics techniques may provide a analytical platfom by combination of different"omics"data souces for future esearch to food sand herbal based products.

The double perovskite cs2SnI6has notable optical and electrical characteristics， rendering it a highly prospective candidate for deployment as the absorber layer in perovskite solar cells (PScs). We simulated the performance of PScs using lead-free cs2SnI6double perovskite absorber layer and graphene derivatives， namely graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO)， as hole transport layers (HTLs). Our findings show that rGO offers an excellent hole extraction property with minimal interfacial recombination compared to GO. PSc utilizing rGO as the HTL material achieved a power conversion efficiency of 19.07%， while those employing GO HTL attained only 16.9%. The superior performance of rGO is attributed to its greater charge carrier mobility of rGO and its favorable energy level alignment with the double perovskite absorber layer. In contrast， the mismatch in the charge transport properties between the absorber layer and the GO HTL resulted in poor performance. Our study showcases the potential of using graphene derivative-based HTLs for realizing lead-free PScs.

Over the past century, ferroelectricity has offered exciting opportunities for fundamental research and device applications.However, most of the discovered excellent ferroelectrics are oxide materials with large band gaps, limiting their potential for optoelectronics applications. Here using first-principles calculations we identify a new narrow-gap ferroelectric beyond oxides,i.e., ferroelectric perovskite sulphide BaZrS3. Under large compressive strains, BaZrS3can be stabilized into a unique supertetragonal phase with an extraordinary polarization of 67.16 μc/cm2, which is even stronger than that of conventional oxide ferroelectrics. Excitingly, the supertetragonal BaZrS3exhibits a direct narrow band gap of 1.2 eV and excellent electronic properties. Based on the chemical bonding analysis, we attribute the formation of supertetragonal phase to charge re-ordering in which the π bond overlap along the long ?Zr-S? bond completely vanishes and the antibonding states of the σ bond appear below the Fermi level. Our work provides a conceptual strategy for designing new ferroelectrics for electronic and photovoltaic applications.

The Antarctic Paleogene marine fossil record has been the key to reconstructing the evolution of the Weddellian Sea and final dismemberment of Southern Gondwana.In this context,Eocene marine vertebrates from Seymour(Marambio)Island have provided valuable information.We present the first Eocene record of marine reptiles from the southern Atlantic coast of South America.This corresponds to several postcranial turtle remains represented by a proximal end of the right humerus,three caudal and one thoracic vertebrae,a fragment of the left pubis,and ten ossicles of the dorsal carapace,coming from the Leticia Formation(late-mid Eocene)at cabo Tiburones,Tierra del Fuego,Argentina.These materials show severalfeatures such as the size and general morphology of the humerus and vertebrae,and the presence of relatively small,irregular,smooth,and unkeeled ossicles,which allow us to assign them to Dermochelyidae indet.Dermochelyids are a cosmopolitan group ofcryptodiran turtles,registered from the late cretaceous up to the recent,with some physiological-biological peculiarities(e.g.,endothermy and an exclusive jellyfish-based diet)and characterized by the presence of an osseous carapace formed by ossicles.The new finding from the Leticia Formation is an addition to the scarce and extremely fragmentary record of Eocene dermochelyids from the southern seas like those from the La Meseta and Submeseta formations(Antarctica)and the Waihao and Burnside formations(New Zealand).This new information allows us to discuss the presence of these turtles in such high latitudes in the past and its implication in the evolution of the Weddellian fauna.

BAcKGROUND The intricate relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and diabetic nephropathy(DN)presents a challenge in understanding the significance of various biomarkers in diagnosis.AIM To elucidate the roles and diagnostic values ofα2-macroglobulin(α2-MG),podocalyxin(PcX),α-L-fucosidase(AFU),retinol-binding protein-4(RBP-4),and cystatin c(cysc)in DN.METHODS From December 2018 to December 2020,203 T2DM patients were enrolled in the study.Of these,115 were diagnosed with DN(115 patients),while the remaining 88 patients were classified as non-DN.The urinary levels ofα2-MG,PcX,and AFU and the serum concentrations RBP-4 and cysc were measured in conjunction with other relevant clinical indicators to evaluate their potential correlations and diagnostic utility.RESULTS After adjustments for age and gender,significant positive correlations were observed between the biomarkers cysc,RBP-4,α2-MG/urinary creatinine(Ucr),PcX/Ucr,and AFU/Ucr,and clinical indicators such as urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio(UAcR),serum creatinine,urea,24-h total urine protein,and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR).conversely,these biomarkers exhibited negative correlations with the estimated glomerular filtration rate(Pceiver operating characteristic(ROc)curve analysis further demonstrated the diagnostic performance of these biomarkers,with UAcR showcasing the highest area under the ROc curve(AUc^(ROc))at 0.97.cONcLUSION This study underscores the diagnostic significance ofα2-MG,PcX,and AFU in the development of DN.The biomarkers RBP-4,cysc,PcX,AFU,andα2-MG provide promising diagnostic insights,while UAcR is the most potent diagnostic biomarker in assessing DN.

AIM:To determine the dry eye(DE)rate and its relationship with disease stage in patients with primary hypertension.METHODS:A cross-sectional study included 432 patients with primary hypertension(with an equal number of patients in each group:144 in stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ hypertension)and 144 healthy subjects as a control group.The Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)and Schirmer Ⅰ test without anesthetics were conducted on all 576 subjects.Subjects with OSDI scoreschirmer Ⅰ values equal to or under 10 mm were diagnosed with DE.RESULTS:The ratio of DE in hypertension patients was higher than in the control group(41.7%versus 18.8%;Pcreased gradually according to the hypertension stage:27.1% in stage Ⅰ,40.3% in stage Ⅱ,and 57.6% in stage Ⅲ,Pcreatinine,and high-sensitivity c-reactive protein(cRP-hs)levels in hypertension patients with DE were higher than those without DE,Pced age,a long duration of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma creatinine,and cRP-hs levels were independent factors associated with DE in primary hypertension patients,PcONcLUSION:DE is a common disorder associated with advanced age,a long duration of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma cRP-hs,and creatinine levels in patients with primary hypertension.
