Hybrid combinations of Eucalyptus have increased due to expansion of plantations into unconventional areas and to the search for higher quality ***,most of these species have difficulties surviving in vitro *** chlorine and sealing systems are often used to reduce contamination and increase gas *** aim of the present study is to evaluate the establishment,multiplication,elongation and adventitious rooting of *** × *** clones(c1 and c2) and four active chlorine concentrations(0.000%,0.001%,0.003%,and 0.005%) were tested in the establishment and multiplication *** sealing forms(W/M,1/M and 3/M) and the same four active chlorine concentrations were applied to the elongation *** luminosities(dark and light)and three sealings(W/M,1/M and 3/M) were tested during adventitious *** chlorine concentration of0.005% led to the lowest fungal contamination rate and to the highest in vitro *** chlorine concentration of 0.003% resulted in the greatest length and highest number of shoots per explant in the multiplication *** were no phytotoxicity problems and the quality of plants grown in an environment with active chlorine was maintained in comparison with those grown in an *** increase in gas exchange in ventilation systems had a positive impact on the in vitro growth and development of plants.

The broke of a tailings dam from Vale s.A. destroyed a gigantic area killing 270 persons in Brumadinho/Brazil. Organizing activities after a mass disaster is a complex process that requires the involvement of many people and resources in the laboratory. To DNA identification of the victims, a daunting work had to be made by DNA laboratory staff in a collaborative effort with many partners. Efforts to implement good practice guidelines in Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) have revealed several important aspects that need to change in the forensic DNA laboratory. This article highlights the challenges of implementing DVI best practice guidelines in resource-poor settings, but with professionals from different sectors engaged in the same goal of briefly identifying victims and helping families and society.

To evaluate the characteristics and synthesis activity of osteoblasts extracted from the calvaria of offspring of rats exposed to maternal *** adult Wistar rats were divided into two groups,one control and one treated with daily administration of L-thyroxine by an orogastric tube(50μg/animal/day)during *** days after delivery and confirmation of the mothers’hyperthyroidism,the offspring were euthanized for the extraction of osteoblasts from the *** 7,14,and 21 days,proliferation activity was assessed using MTT assay,while alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity was assessed by the BcIP/NBT *** 21 days,the total area of the mineralized matrix stained by von Kossa was evaluated by *** expression of gene transcripts for Runx2,Bmp2,fgfr1,collagen type 1(col1),osteocalcin(Oc),and osteopontin(Op)were evaluated by real-time *** were compared using the student’s *** activity was significantly higher at 14 and 21 days in cultures of osteoblasts extracted from offspring exposed to maternal hyperthyroidism,while MTT conversion was significantly lower at 21 days in this *** cultures of neonates exposed to maternal hyperthyroidism also showed a larger total area of mineralized matrix and greater expression of gene transcripts for Oc and *** hyperthyroidism increases the activity of matrix synthesis,alkaline phosphatase activity,and expression of gene transcripts for osteocalcin and osteopontin in the osteoblasts,extracted from the calvaria of the offspring,which may be one of the mechanisms of premature fusion of cranial sutures.

Mammalian cell surfaces consist of the plasma membrane supported by an underneath cortical ***,these structures can control not only the shape of cells but also a series of cellular functions ranging from migration and division to exocytosis,endocytosis and ***,the cell surface is capable of exerting and reacting to mechanical *** viscoelastic properties,especially membrane tension and bending modulus,are fundamental parameters involved in these *** viewpoint summarizes our current knowledge on how to measure the viscoelastic properties of cell surfaces employing optical tweezers-based tether assays,paving the way for a better understanding of how cells react to external mechanical forces,with a glance on their remodeling dynamics and possible consequences on downstream cellular processes.

The Nevirapine (NVP)/Polycaprolactone (PcL)/Nanoparticles hybrids systems have been developed as a potential platform for drug delivery, by solvent cast, as thin films. NVP, an antiretroviral drug, was included within PcL matrix containing three types of nanoparticles: an organoclay layered silicate Viscogel s7®(3% w/w), hydrophilic silica oxide particles Aerosil®A20 (0.25% w/w) and titanium dioxide particles (0.25% w/w). These systems were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (fTIR), low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV), in-vitro dissolution testing and drug release mechanism kinetics. The PcL crystallization was affected by NVP incorporation, modifying its semi-crystalline structure to a less ordered structure. When nanoparticles and NVP were added, the Tsub>1sub>H values increased, for PcL, PcL/s7, PcL/ siOsub>2sub> and PcL/TiOsub>2sub> hybrids, suggesting that its addition produced a new material, with less molecular mobility, due to the new intermolecular interactions formation. It can consider a structure formation among the PcL chains, nanoparticles and NVP, with strong forces in the PcL/siOsub>2sub>/NVP system. The amount of NVP included was around 1.5 ± 0.03 mg/cmsup>2sup>. In the in-vitro dissolution test, the PcL/siOsub>2sub>/NVP system released the smallest amount of drug and this result could be attributed to the strong intermolecular interaction between the drug and the PcL/siOsub>2sub> system. Higuchi’s model was the mathematical model chosen to treat the release data, since this model presented the highest coefficient correlation (r) value. The drug release probably occur by diffusion through the matrix pores, thus, these materials are suitable for sustained release of NVP.

The skin is the most extensive and outermost organ in the body and can be greatly exploited both from the point of view of alternative routes of systemic drug delivery and treatment of dermatological diseases. Because of its main function as a barrier against harmful external agents, it also becomes a barrier to drug administration, but there are strategies to reduce this limitation of this promising route of administration. The development of polymer-based film-forming formulations is extensively studied for this purpose, since the formation of a film on the skin increases the contact time of the drug, for this being characterized as a controlled release reservoir system. There are a multitude of possible polymers to compose these formulations and their choice must be made according to the purpose of each application. This work, therefore, aims to study the state of the art of film forming systems for topical application of pharmaceutical formulations.
