Zinc and cadmium pollutants cause a significant environmental effect that cannot be ignored. Due to their considerable amount in an aqueous environment, industries are seek.ng suitable adsorbents that are environmentally.friendly.and inexpensive for removing metals from wastewater before dispos.ng of them in surface waters. This research employ.d original MXene(MX) and chitos.n-modified MXene(CsMX) to extract zinc(Zn(Ⅱ)) and cadmium(Cd(Ⅱ)) metal ions from water-based solutions. The composite material produced was analy.ed us.ng techniques such as X-ray.Diffraction(XRD), scanning Electron Microscopy.sEM), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy.FTIR), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET). The effects of contact duration, p H of the solution, and initial concentration of metal ions on the adsorption process of Zn(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) onto both MX and CsMX composites were investigated. MX and prepared CsMX composite pres.nted a high adsorption capacity.for both studied heavy.metals, which were 91.55 and 73.82 mg/g for Zn(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) onto MX, 106.84 and 93.07 mg/g for Cd(Ⅱ) and Zn(Ⅱ) onto CsMX composite, respectively. Furthermore, the maximum competitive adsorption capacities for Zn(Ⅱ) onto MX and CsMX composites are 77.29 and 93.47 mg/g, and for are Cd(Ⅱ)60.30 and 79.66 mg/g, respectively. Hence, the removal capacities for both s.ngle and competitive metal ions were superior to CsMX composite. However, the adsorption capacities after five successive regeneration sequences were only.dropped by.13.2% for Zn(Ⅱ) and 17.4% for Cd(Ⅱ) onto the CsMX composite compared to the first cy.le. These results confirm that both metals could be efficiently.terminated from wastewater, which mak.s the prepared CsMX composite a favorable candidate adsorbent in practical applications.

Thermo-k.netic characteristics on stabilizing hetero-phase interface of metal matrix composites by.cry.tal plasticity.finite element method

Us.ng dislocation-based constitutive modeling in three-dimension cry.tal plasticity.finite element(3D CPFE)simulations,co-deformation and instability.of hetero-phase interface in different material sy.tems were herein studied for poly.ry.talline metal matrix composites(MMCs).Local stress and strain fields in two ty.es of 3lay.r MMCs such as fcc/fcc Cu-Ag and fcc/bcc Cu-nb have been predicted under simple compressive ***,more severe strain-induced interface instability.can be observed in the fcc/bcc sy.tems than in the fcc/fcc sy.tems upon refining to metallic nanolay.red composites(MnCs).By.detailed analy.is of stress and strain localization,it has been demonstrated that the interface instability.is alway. accompanied by.high-stress concentration,i.e.,thermody.amic characteristics,or high strain prevention i.e.,k.netic characteristics,at the hetero-phase *** then follows that the thermody.amic driving forceG and the k.netic energy.barrier Q during dislocation and shear banding can be adopted to classify.the deformation modes,following the so-called thermo-k.netic *** by.inserting a high density.of high-energy.interfaces into the Cu-nb composites,such thermo-k.netic integration at the hetero-phase interface allows a successful establishment of MMCs with the high△G-high Q deformation mode,which ensures high hardening and uniform strain distri-bution,thus efficiently.suppress.ng the shear band,stabilizing the hetero-phase interface,and obtaining an exceptional combination in strength and *** hetero-phase interface chos.n by.a couple of thermody.amics and k.netics can be defined as break.ng the thermo-k.netic correlation and has been proposed for artificially.designing MnCs.

Objective:To evaluate the polio laboratory.surveillance carried out from January.2019 to May.2023 by.the Polio Regional Reference Laboratory.sri ***:This retrospective study.analy.ed all stool samples received under the acute flaccid paraly.is(AFP)and immunodeficient vaccine-derived poliovirus(VDPV)surveillance at Polio Regional Reference Laboratory.sri Lank. from January.2019 to May.*** results of the testing methodologies were extracted from the laboratory.data sy.tem,i.e.,poliovirus virus isolation,intra-ty.ic differentiation/VDPV real time reverse transcriptase poly.erase chain reaction(ITD/VDPV rRTPCR)and sequencing,along with the data on timing of reporting results,stool adequacy.and *** was analy.ed us.ng descriptive ***:A total of 2141 stool samples from 1644 cases were received for AFP surveillance from sri Lank.(93.61%),Maldives(1.52%),and immunodeficient VDPV(4.86%)*** polioviruses(19/1644,1.15%)and non-polio enteroviruses(73/1644,4.44%)were isolated,while sabin-lik. 3 virus was detected in majority.12/19,63.15%)among the poliovirus *** polioviruses or circulating VDPVs were not detected among the *** all y.ars of the study.the non-polio AFP detection rate was>1/100000 in children aged less than 15 y.ars,whereas stool adequacy.rate was>80%.All results were reported within 14 day. of receipt,ensuring timely.reporting as per global ***:The Polio Regional Reference Laboratory.sri Lank. play. a vital role in maintaining the polio-free status in the country.through its robust laboratory.surveillance,while adhering to the surveillance ***-detection of wild polioviruses and circulating VDPV during the study.period reinforces the polio-free status in the country.

The network.of Himalay.n roadway. and highway. connects some remote regions of valley. or hill slopes,which is vital for India’s socio-economic *** to natural and artificial factors,frequency.of slope instabilities along the network. has been increas.ng over last few *** of stability.of natural and artificial slopes due to construction of these connecting road network. is significant in safely.executing these roads throughout the *** rock.mass classification methods are generally.used to assess the strength and deformability.of rock.*** study.assesses slope stability.along the nH-1A of Ramban district of north Western *** structurally.and non-structurally.controlled rock.mass classification sy.tems have been applied to assess the stability.conditions of 14 *** evaluating the stability.of these slopes,k.nematic analy.is was performed along with geological strength index(GsI),rock.mass rating(RMR),continuous slope mass rating(CosMR),slope mass rating(sMR),and Q-slope in the pres.nt *** sMR gives three slopes as completely.unstable while CosMR suggests four slopes as completely.*** stability.of all slopes was also analy.ed us.ng a design chart under dy.amic and static conditions by.slope stability.rating(ssR)for the factor of safety.Fos)of 1.2 and 1 respectively.Q-slope with probability.of failure(PoF)1%gives two slopes as stable *** slope angle has been determined based on the Q-slope safe angle equation and ssR design chart based on the *** value ranges given by.different empirical classifications were RMR(37-74),GsI(27.3-58.5),sMR(11-59),and CosMR(3.39-74.56).Good relationship was found among RMR&ssR and RMR&GsI with correlation coefficient(R 2)value of 0.815 and 0.6866,***,a comparative stability.of all these slopes based on the above classification has been performed to identify.the most critical slope along this road.

In this paper,we analy.ed the phy.ical characteristics of the ternary.alloy. RE_(2)Rh_(3)Ge(RE=Pr and sm)us.ng the first principles calculation based on functional density.theory.integrated in the Wien2k.*** calculated formation energies of Pr_(2)Rh_(3)Ge and sm_(2)Rh_(3)Ge are−5.3827 and−5.2782 eV/atom,respectively.showing that these alloy. may.exist *** results of the band structure and density.of states indicate that all of the compounds tested are magnetic metals,and their magnetism is mostly.related to the contribution of Pr and sm *** total magnetic moments of Pr_(2)Rh_(3)Ge and sm_(2)Rh_(3)Ge are 4.07245 and 11.16161μB/f.u,*** parameters such as heat capacity.at constant pressure,entropy.Deby. temperature,lattice volume,compressibility.coefficients,and Grüneis.n parameter alloy. were calculated us.ng the Gibbs algorithm and studied in depth over a large temperature range of 0-900 *** Deby. temperature increases with increas.ng pressure and decreases with decreas.ng ***,the Deby. temperatures calculated at p=0 GPa and T=300 k.are equal to be 342 and 322 k.for Pr_(2)Rh_(3)Ge and sm_(2)Rh_(3)Ge,*** optical characteristics such as the real and imaginary.portions of the dielectric function,the absorption coefficient,the energy.loss function,and the refractive index were investigated and discussed in more depth.
