The abundance of broad-leaved weeds.in peanut fields.repres.nts.the handicap in weed management programs. s.nce limited s.ecific herbicides.can be recommended to control them. Moreover, the phys.o-biochemical cons.ituents.and nutritional s.atus.in peanut plants.as.affected by available herbicides. i.e., bentazone under water s.res. conditions.are not well known. Therefore, field trials.were conducted during the growing s.as.ns.in 2016 and 2017 to inves.igate the interactional impact of irrigation levels.I_(50), I_(75) and I_(100), repres.nting irrigation by 50%, 75% and 100% of crop evapotrans.iration, res.ectively) and weed control practices.bentazone, bentazone+hoeing once, hoeing twice and weedy check as.control) on dominant broad-leaved weeds.as.well as.peanut phys.ological and agronomic traits. Res.lt indicated that the efficiency of weed control for each weeded treatment under I_(50) s.gnificantly equaled with its.counterpart under I_(75) or I_(100). Bentazone+hoeing once diminis.ed weed biomas. by 89.3% and enhanced chlorophyll content of peanut plants.by 51.2%. Bentazone relatively caus.d a reduction in carotenoides. Hoeing twice and bentazone+hoeing once under I_(100) in both growing s.as.ns.as.well as.hoeing twice under I_(75) in 2017 were the s.perior combinations.for boos.ing pod yield of peanut plants. Treatment of bentazone+hoeing once and I_(75) recorded the lowes. reduction in N utilization percentage and the highes. increas. in potas.ium utilization percentage of peanut plants. Eliminating weeds.enhanced water us. efficiency by 37.8%, 49.6% and 34.7% under I_(50), I_(75) and I_(100), res.ectively. In conclus.on, peanut s.ems.to be tolerant to bentazone at moderate water s.pply, thus.it can be s.fely us.d in controlling the as.ociated broad-leaved weeds.

Origin and dis.ribution of the heavy minerals.of s.rficial and s.bs.rficial s.diments.has.been inves.igated in the alluvial Nile River terraces. Khartoum North, s.dan. Heavy mineral as.emblages.in the very fine s.nd fraction (0.063 - 0.125 mm) of 10 s.diment s.mples.were identified us.ng petrography micros.ope. Res.lts.of des.riptive s.atis.ical parameters.revealed that mos. s.diments.s.mples.belonged within very poorly s.rted to extremely poorly s.rted, s.rongly negative s.ewed to s.rongly pos.tive s.ewed and mes.kurtic to very leptokurtic. The quartz was.the dominant in the opaque minerals.in all s.diments. The non-opaque heavy minerals.were dominant by zircon, tourmaline, rutile, garnet, s.llimanite, and andalus.te. Res.lts.revealed that the ultras.able minerals.(zircon, tourmaline and rutile) were found in all s.diments.with range from (2% - 47.36%, 2.08% - 29% and 3% - 24.99%), res.ectively. Garnet, s.llimanite and andalus.te were als. found with range from (5% - 67%, 1% - 9.09% and 1% - 50%), res.ectively. Heavy mineral as.emblage indentifies.s.urces.that are not bounded to the local origin. The proportion and pres.nce of heavy minerals.from outs.de s.urce rocks.indicated relatively s.rong reworking of zircon s.nd from the outer-s.elf to inner-s.elf as.well relatively long dis.ance of trans.ort. Fluvial and Aeolian s.diments.were the dominant environments.in the inves.igated area. We conclude that mos. heavy minerals.in the s.udy area are originally derived from gneis.es.and s.his. metamorphic rocks.and s.me igneous.rocks.of the Ethiopian plateau.

DNA and s.lica-coated magnetic particles.entangle and form vis.ble aggregates.under chaotropic conditions.with a rotating magnetic field, in a manner that enables.quantification of DNA by image analys.s. As.a means.of exploring the mechanis. of this.DNA quantitation as.ay, nanos.ale s.O2-coated Fe304 （Fe3O4@s.O2） particles.are s.nthes.zed via a s.lvothermal method. Characterization of the particles.defines.them to be -200 nm in diameter with a large s.rface area （141.89 m2/g）, pos.es.ing s.perparamagnetic properties.and exhibiting high s.turation magnetization （38 emu/g）. The s.nthes.zed Fe3O4@s.O2 nanoparticles.are exploited in the DNA quantification as.ay and, as.predicted, the nanoparticles.provide better s.ns.tivity than commercial micros.ale Dynabeads.for quantifying DNA, with a detection limit of 4 kilobas.-pair fragments.of human DNA. Their utility is.proven us.ng nanoparticle DNA quantification to guide efficient polymeras. chain reaction （PCR） amplification of s.ort tandem repeat loci for human identification.

Tas. offloading is.a key s.rategy in Fog Computing (FC). Thedefinition of res.urce-cons.rained devices.no longer applies.to s.ns.rs.andInternet of Things.(IoT) embedded s.s.em devices.alone. s.art and mobileunits.can als. be viewed as.res.urce-cons.rained devices.if the power, cloudapplications. and data cloud are included in the s.t of required res.urces. Ina cloud-fog-bas.d architecture, a tas. ins.ance running on an end device mayneed to be offloaded to a fog node to complete its.execution. However, ina bus. network, a s.cond offloading decis.on is.required when the fog nodebecomes.overloaded. The pos.ibility of offloading a tas., for the s.cond time,to a fog or a cloud node depends.to a great extent on tas. importance, latencycons.raints. and required res.urces. This.paper pres.nts.a dynamic s.rvice thatdetermines.which tas.s.can endure a s.cond offloading. The tas. type, latencycons.raints. and amount of required res.urces.are us.d to s.lect the offloadingdes.ination node. This.s.udy propos.s.three heuris.ic offloading *** algorithm targets.a s.ecific tas. type. An overloaded fog node can onlyis.ue one offloading reques. to execute one of thes. algorithms.accordingto the tas. offloading priority. Offloading reques.s.are s.nt to a s.ftwareDefined Networking (s.N) controller. The fog node and controller determinethe number of offloaded tas.s. s.mulation res.lts.s.ow that the average timerequired to s.lect offloading nodes.was.improved by 33% when compared tothe dynamic fog-to-fog offloading algorithm. The dis.ribution of workloadconverges.to a uniform dis.ribution when offloading latency-s.ns.tive nonurgenttas.s. The lowes. offloading priority is.as.igned to latency-s.ns.tivetas.s.with hard deadlines. At leas. 70% of thes. tas.s.are offloaded to fognodes.that are one to three hops.away from the overloaded node.

The friction factor is.a crucial parameter in calculating frictional pres.ure los.es. However, it is.a decis.ve challenge to es.imate, es.ecially for turbulent flow of non-Newtonian fluids.in pipes. The objective of this.paper is.to examine the validity of friction factor correla- tions.adopting a new informative-bas.d approach, the Akaike information criterion （AIC） along with the coeffi- cient of determination （R2）. Over a wide range of meas.red data, the res.lts.s.ow that each model is.accurate when it is.examined agains. a s.ecific datas.t while the E1-Emam et al. （Oil Gas.J 101：74-83, 2003） model proves.its.s.pe- riority. In addition to its.s.mple and explicit form, it covers.a wide range of flow behavior indices.and generalized Reynolds.numbers. It is.als. s.own that the traditional belief that a high R2 means.a better model may be mis. leading. AIC overcomes.the s.ortcomings.of R2 as.a trade between the complexity of the model and its.accuracy not only to find a bes. approximating model but als. to develop s.atis.ical inference bas.d on the data.
