Phosphorus(P)deficiency is one of the main constraints on crop production in Arenosols(acid sandy soil).The hig. cost of P fertilizers may represent an insurmountable obstacle in many poor countries,leaving.the exploitation of their own calcareous and phosphate rocks as the only low-cost and long.term *** is sug.ested to have positive effects on soil properties;however,there is no published research on the synerg.stic effects of biochar and rocky materials in modifying.soil *** aim of this study was to investig.te the chemical and biochemical responses of an acid Arenosol treated with phosphate rock(PR),calcareous rock(CR),and biochar(BC),and the implications for corn yield.A soil from Marracuene District,Mozambique was used,where corn was g.own for 90 d with the soil treated with:no addition(control),water-soluble zinc phosphite fertilizer(WSP),PR,WSP+CR,WSP+BC,WSP+CR+BC,PR+BC,and PR+CR+*** was produced by pyrolysis of babycorn peels for 4 h at 450?C and applied at 11 g.*** soil pHH2 Oincreased from about 4.54 in the control to 7.38 in the PR+CR+BC *** oxidizable org.nic carbon,cation exchang. capacity,and available P were hig.er in the treatments containing.BC than in the *** treatments containing.CR and/or BC led to the hig.est activities of alkaline phosphomonoesterase,phosphodiesterase,andα-g.ucosidase,which increased P availability and g.ve the g.eatest biomass and *** sug.est that biochar provides additional soluble P and supplies adsorption sites for phosphate,preventing.its evolution to unavailable ***,PR applied tog.ther with BC contributed to an 840%yield increase compared to the *** treatments containing.WSP and BC facilitated phosphite oxidation to phosphate and increased crop yield.

The new reality of smart distribution systems with use of g.neration sources of small and medium sizes bring. new challeng.s for the operation of these systems. The complexity and the larg. number of nodes requires use of methods which can reduce the processing.time of alg.rithms such as power flow, allowing.its use in real time. This paper presents a known methodolog. for calculating.the power flow in three phases using.backward/forward sweep method, and also considering.other network elements such as voltag. reg.lators, shunt capacitors and sources of dispersed g.neration of types PV （active power and voltag.） and PQ （active and reactive power）. After that, new elements are introduced that allow the parallelization of this alg.rithm and an adequate distribution of work between the available processors. The alg.rithm was implemented using.a multi-tiered architecture; the processing.times were measured in many network config.rations and compared with the same alg.rithm in the serial version.

Ethnicity has been associated with the incidence of diseases and consequently it is a cornerstone in medical g.netic studies. It is mainly important in admixture populations, where the population stratification can produce spurious results that lead to erroneous conclusions. Consequently, population stratification has become one of the most important confounding.factors in population-based g.netic association studies, especially in Latino populations. Cartag.na de Indias is a cosmopolitan city with dissimilar ancestry proportions due to recent misceg.nation. This population mainly exhibits African and Amerindian matrilineal ancestries. Nevertheless, important asymmetries in the paternal g.netic history related to the complex patterns of mig.ation in the colonial period increase the male g.netic diversity in this population. As a result of this recent admixture, population stratification has arisen, where each subpopulation is not equally represented. Consequently, the allele differences between cases and controls could be related with different frequencies among.different population strata rather than the association of the g.nes with the disease. In order to define the patrilineal substructure of the Cartag.na’s population, a total of 130 unrelated men were ancestrally studied using.15 Y-STR loci routinely employed in anthropolog.cal, forensic and population g.netics. Our results show that Cartag.na is an admixture population consisting.of European (80%), Amerindian (10%) and African ancestries (10%), which are represented by haplog.oups R1b and I2a (xI2a1), Q-M242/Q-M3, and E1b1a/E1b1b, respectively. Complex g.netic patterns found in Cartag.na’s population emphasize the importance to know the g.netic variation in order to diminish the inconsistence for future g.netic association studies. The diag.osis of Invasive Fung.l Disease (IFD) is difficult because the sensitivity of conventional culture and cytolog. methods for the detection of Asperg.llus is poor, and because serolog.cal methods exhibit cross-reactivity with environmental fung.. Fung.l polysaccharides are of particular interest in the serolog.c diag.osis of IFD, especially g.lactomannan (g.) and g.ucan, which have been recog.ized as useful tools for the diag.osis of fung.l infections. Further investig.tion into polysaccharide antibody cross-reactivity is important in improving.diag.ostic tests. Our aim was to verify the production of antibodies ag.inst fung.l antig.ns in mice immunized with exopolysaccharides (EPS) obtained from three fung.l species (Asperg.llus terreus, Paecilomyces variotii and Curvularia brachyspora). ELISA assays were performed to evaluate homolog.us and heterolog.us reactions and showed anti-polysaccharide antibodies production. EPS from A. terreus was immunog.nic enoug. to immunize the animal and lead to antibody production ag.inst this EPS. In addition, no cross-reactivity was observed with EPS obtained from P. variotii and C. brachyspora. The EPS from P. variotii did not exhibit g.od immunog.nicity, whereas EPS from C. brachyspora showed g.od immunog.nicity, and heterolog.us reactions were detected on the ELISA assays performed using.the EPS from this species. The results indicate that immunization can occur for environmental fung.l polysaccharides, g.nerating.antibodies may be interfere in serolog.cal diag.osis that are based on detection of fung.l polysaccharides, mainly g.ucans and g.lactomannans.
