Preparation and cellular uptake behaviors of uniform fiber-like micelles with length controllability and high colloidal stability in aqueous media

Fragmentation/disassembly of fiber-like micelles generated by living crystalline-driven self-assembly(CDSA)is usually encountered in aqueous media,which hinders the applications of ***,we report the generation of uniform fiber-like micelles consisting of a𝜋Л-conjugated oligo(p-phenylenevinylene)core and a crosslinking silica shell with grafted poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)chains by the combination of living CDSA,silica chemistry and surface grafting-onto *** to the presence of crosslinking silica shell and the outmost PEG chains,the resulting micelles exhibit excellent dispersity and colloidal stability in PBS buffer,BSA aqueous solution and upon heating at 80℃ for 2 h without micellar fragmentation/*** micelles also show negligible cytotoxicity toward both HeLa cervical cancer and HEK239T human embryonic kidney cell ***,micelles with Ln of 156 nm show the“stealth”property with no significant uptake by HeLa cells,whereas some certain amounts of micelles with Ln of 535 nm can penetrate into HeLa cells,showing length-dependent cellular uptake *** results provide a route to prepare uniform,colloidally stable fiber-like nanostructures with tunable length and functions derived for biomedical applications.

Contemporaneous assembly of Western Gondwana and final Rodinia break-up:Implications for the supercontinent cycle

Geological,geochronological and isotopic data are integrated in order to present a revised model for the Neoproterozoic evolution of Western *** the classical geodynamic scenario assumed for the period 800-700 ma is related to Rodinia break-up and the consequent opening of major oceanic basins,a significantly different tectonic evolution can be inferred for most Western Gondwana *** cratons occupied a marginal position in the southern hemisphere with respect to Rodinia and recorded subduction with back-arc extension,island arc development and limited formation of oceanic crust in internal *** period was thus characterized by increased crustal growth in Western Gondwana,resulting from addition of juvenile continental crust along convergent *** contrast,crustal reworking and metacratonization were dominant during the subsequent assembly of *** Rio de la Plata,Congo-Sao Francisco,West African and Amazonian cratons collided at ca.630-600 ma along the West Gondwana *** events overlap in time with the onset of the opening of the Iapetus Ocean at ca.610-600 ma,which gave rise to the separation of Baltica,Laurentia and Amazonia and resulted from the final Rodinia *** East African/Antarctic Orogen recorded the subsequent amalgamation of Western and Eastern Gondwana after ca.580 ma,contemporaneously with the beginning of subduction in the Terra Australis Orogen along the southern Gondwana ***,the Kalahari Craton was lately incorporated during the Late Ediacaran-Early *** proposed Gondwana evolution rules out the existence of Pannotia,as the final Gondwana amalgamation postdates latest connections between Laurentia and ***,a combination of introversion and extroversion is proposed for the assembly of *** contemporaneous record of final Rodinia break-up and Gondwana assembly has major implications for the supercontinent cycle,as supercontinent amalgamation and break-

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed enormous challenges for existing diagnostic tools to detect and monitor ***,there is a need to develop point-of-care(POC)devices to perform fast,accurate,and accessible diagnostic methods to detect infections and monitor immune *** most amenable to miniaturization and suitable for POC applications are biosensors based on electrochemical *** have developed an impedimetric immunosensor based on an interdigitated microelectrode array(Ima)to detect and monitor SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in human *** chemistry was applied to functionalize and covalently immobilize the spike protein(S-protein)of SARS-CoV-2 on the surface of the Ima to serve as the recognition layer and specifically bind anti-spike *** bound to the S-proteins in the recognition layer result in an increase in capacitance and a consequent change in the impedance of the *** impedimetric immunosensor is label-free and uses non-Faradaic impedance with low nonperturbing AC voltage for *** sensitivity of a capacitive immunosensor can be enhanced by simply tuning the ionic strength of the sample *** device exhibits an LOD of 0.4 BAU/ml,as determined from the standard curve using WHO IS for anti-SARS-CoV-2 immunoglobulins;this LOD is similar to the corresponding LODs reported for all validated and established commercial assays,which range from 0.41 to 4.81 BAU/*** proof-of-concept biosensor has been demonstrated to detect anti-spike antibodies in sera from patients infected with COVID-19 within 1 h.

High-precision geochronology of Mesozoic magmatism in macao,Southeast China:Evidence for multistage granite emplacement

Six new high precision U-Pb zircon ID-TIMS ages plus thirteen in situ high spatial resolution U-Pb zircon LA-MC-ICPMS ages are reported from Jurassic plutonic(metaluminous to weakly peraluminous biotite granites)and Jurassic to Cretaceous hypabyssal(dacites)rocks from *** its relatively small area(~30 km^2),the new ages tightly constrain the macao granitic magmatism to two periods ranging from 164.5±0.6 ma to 162.9±0.7 ma and 156.6±0.2 ma to 155.5±0.8 ma,separated by ca.6 *** zircons point to the existence of a basement with ages up to Paleo-Proterozoic and late Archean in the *** addition,younger dacitic rocks were dated at 150.6±0.6 ma andma.U-Pb zircon ages and whole-rock REE data of macao granites indicate that the first pulse is also represented in Hong Kong and Southeast(SE)China,while magmatism with the chemical characteristics of the second pulse seems to not be represented outside *** two granitic magmatic pulses have distinct mineralogical and geochemical features that support their discrete nature rather than a continuum of comagmatic activity and suggest that the macao granitic suite was incrementally assembled during a period of ca.9 ma,a hypothesis also extendable to the neighboring Hong Kong region for a time lapse of ca.24 *** macao,the transition from granitic magmatism(Middle to Upper Jurassic)to the younger dacite dykes(Upper Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous)most likely corresponds to a change in the regional tectonic setting,from an extensional regime related with foundering of the subducting paleoPacific plate during the Early Yanshanian period to the reestablishment of a normal subduction system in SE China during the Late Yanshanian period.

Exchange-correlation functionals for band gaps of solids:benchmark,reparametrization and machine learning

We conducted a large-scale density-functional theory study on the influence of the exchange-correlation functional in the calculation of electronic band gaps of ***,we use the large materials data set that we have recently proposed to benchmark 21 different functionals,with a particular focus on approximations of the meta-generalized-gradient *** these data with the results for 12 functionals in our previous work,we can analyze in detail the characteristics of each approximation and identify its strong and/or weak *** confirming that mBJ,HLE16 and HSE06 are the most accurate functionals for band gap calculations,we reveal several other interesting functionals,chief among which are the local Slater potential approximation,the GGA AK13LDA,and the meta-GGAs HLE17 and *** also compare the computational efficiency of these different *** on these data,we investigate the potential for improvement of a promising subset of functionals by varying their internal *** identified optimal parameters yield a family of functionals fitted for the calculation of band ***,we demonstrate how to train machine learning models for accurate band gap prediction,using as input structural and composition data,as well as approximate band gaps obtained from density-functional theory.

Distinctively different metabolism between tumor cells and normal cells endows tumor tissues unique *** this regard,we have successfully prepared a sequential catalytic platform based on Au/Pt star for tumor *** multifunctional probes consisted of a gold/platinum star-shaped core(Au/Pt star)conjugated with a GSH-sensitive disulfide bond(S–S),a targeting ligand(rHSA-FA),a near-infrared fluorophore(IR780)and glucose oxidase(GOx).When systemically administered in a xenografted murine model,the probes specifically targeted the tumor *** the disulfide linker was cleaved by intracellular GSH,the IR780 molecules could be released for photo-thermal therapy&photodynamic therapy(PTT&PDT)and ***,the Pt nanolayer of the Au/Pt star and the GOx formed a sequential catalytic system:GOx effectively catalyzed intracellular glucose by consuming oxygen to generate H2O2 and enhance the local acidity,and the Pt layer exhibited peroxidase-like property to catalyze H2O2 producing toxic·OH for tumor oxidative *** we demonstrated that our probes simultaneously possessed a GSH-sensitive release,real-time imaging ability,and synergetic cancer starving-like therapy/enzyme oxidative therapy/PTT/PDT features,which provides a potential strategy for effective tumor theragnostic.

Vertically aligned p-silicon nanowire （SiNW） arrays have been extensively investigated in recent years as promising photocathodes for solar-driven hydrogen evolution. However, the fabrication of SiNW photocathodes with both high photoelectrocatalytic activity and long-term operational stability using a simple and affordable approach is a challenging task. Herein, we report conformal and continuous deposition of a di-cobalt phosphide （C02P） layer on lithography- patterned highly ordered SiNW arrays via a cost-effective drop-casting method followed by a low-temperature phosphorization treatment. The as-deposited C02P layer consists of crystalline nanoparticles and has an intimate contact with SiNWs, forming a well-defined SiNW@Co2P core/shell nanostructure. The conformal and continuous Co2P layer functions as a highly efficient catalyst capable of substantially improving the photoelectrocatalytic activity for the hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） and effectively passivates the SiNWs to protect them from photo-oxidation, thus prolonging the lifetime of the electrode. As a consequence, the SiNW@Co2P photocathode with an optimized C02P layer thickness exhibits a high photocurrent density of -21.9 ma·cm^-2 at 0 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode and excellent operational stability up to 20 h for solar-driven hydrogen evolution, outperforming many nanostructured silicon photocathodes reported in the literature. The combination of passivation and catalytic functions in a single continuous layer represents a promising strategy for designing high-performance semiconductor photoelectrodes for use in solar-driven water splitting, which may simplify fabrication procedures and potentially reduce production costs.
