Environmental fate and health exposures of the geogenic and anthropogenic contaminants in potable groundwater of Lower Ganga Basin,India

The study evaluated the sources and controlling factors of the groundwater contaminants in an agroeconomic region of Lower Ganga Basin using principal component analysis(PCA),multivariable linear regressions(MLR),correlation analysis,and hierarchical cluster analysis,and evaluated the public health risks using the Latin Hypercube Sampling,goodness-of-fit statistics,Monte Carlo simulation and Sobol sensitivity analysis based on the 1000 samples collected in two sampling cycles(N=1000).The study reveals that the dissolution of fluoride-bearing minerals and semi-arid climate regulate the fluoride concentrations(0.10–18.25 mg/L)in *** application of inorganic nitrogenous fertilizers and livestock manure mainly contributed to elevated nitrate levels(up to 435.0 mg/L)in *** health risks analysis indicates that fluoride exposure is more prevalent in the residents of each age group than the nitrate and both contaminants exhibited higher non-carcinogenic health risks on the infant and child(minor)age groups compared to adolescents and *** on the cokriging interpolation mapping,the minor residents of 17.88%–23.15%of the total area(4545.0 km^(2))are vulnerable to methemoglobinemia whereas the residents of all age-groups in 38.47%–44.45%of the total area are susceptible to mild to severe dental/skeletal fluorosis owing to consumption of untreated nitrate and fluoride enriched *** Sobol sensitivity indices revealed contaminant levels,groundwater intake rate and their collective effects are the most influential factors to pose potential health risks on the *** recharge and rainwater harvesting practices should be adopted to improve the groundwater quality and the residents are advised to drink purified groundwater.

EST sequences of Mentha piperita available in the public domain(NCBI) were exploited to develop SSR markers. A total of 1316 ESTs were assembled into 155 contigs and 653 singletons and of these, 110 sequences were found to contain 130 SSRs, with a frequency of1 SSR/3.4 kb. Dinucleotide repeat SSRs were most frequent(72.3%) with the AG/CT(43.8%)repeat motif followed by AT/AT(16.2%). Primers were successfully designed for 68SSR-containing sequences(62.0%). The 68 primers amplified 13 accessions of M. piperita and 54 produced clear amplicons of the expected size. Of these 54, 33(61%) were found to be polymorphic among M. piperita accessions, showing from 2 to 4 alleles with an average of2.33 alleles/SSR, and the polymorphic information content(PIC) value varied between 0.13 and 0.51(average 0.25). All the amplified SSRs showed transferability among four different species of Mentha, with a highest in Mentha arvensis(87.0%) and minimum in Mentha citrata(37.0%). The newly developed SSRs markers were found to be useful for diversity analysis, as they successfully differentiated among species and accessions of Mentha.

Presently,there is a necessity of increasing the reclaimed asphalt pavement(RAP)content in recycling of asphalt pavements to save material cost,preserve energy and protect the environment and efforts are being made to utilize 100%RAP in the *** binder is usually stiff due to oxidation and loss of *** addition of high amount of RAP to the asphalt mix,may make it prone to fatigue *** to this reason,rejuvenators are added to restore some of the physical and chemical properties for desired performance of the *** this study,a locally available non-edible oil known as Polanga oil(biological name:Calophyllum inophyllum)has been explored as rejuvenator to study its effect on performance of the aged *** binder prepared in the laboratory using the Pressure Aging Vessel(PAV)and binder extracted from the RAP collected from a nearby source were used in this study for *** binder and RAP binder mixed with the rejuvenator at varying *** rheological characterizations in terms of flow,rutting,fatigue and creep recovery of rejuvenated PAV aged&RAP binders were carried out using a dynamic shear rheometer(DSR)to determine the optimum dosage of the *** was observed that,5 percent of Polanga oil is able to divulge the desirable rheological properties of the rejuvenated binder.

A new implementation of hyperchaotic modified canonical Chua circuit using junction field-effect transistors （JFETs） is proposed. The design is based on a source coupled JFET circuit to approximate a smooth cubic nonlinearity and a two-terminal negative resistance element containing a p-n-p silicon transistor and an n-channel JFET. The realization is supported by Orcad Pspice simulation and numerical MATLAB results. The hyperchaotic nature is confirmed by two positive Lyapunov exponents associated with the attractor which is a fractal with a Lyapunov dimension between 3 and 4.

Owing to the non-collocation of actuators and sensors in a flexible-link manipulator(FLM)it becomes difficult to achieve accurate tip position *** resolve this issue,a vision sensor is used for direct measurement of the tip position instead of employing the traditional mechanical *** the different visual servoing(VS)control schemes,image-based VS(IBVS)is more ***,there are many challenges in the IBVS scheme such as singularities in the interaction matrix and local minima in trajectories that affect the system performance in real-time *** this study,the moment-based new visual feature is selected to address the aforesaid issues that arise in the IBVS ***,a new two-time scale IBVS controller is developed for addressing the tip-tracking control problem of the two-link flexible manipulator(TLFM).In the proposed control scheme,the dynamics of the FLM is decomposed into two-time scale models,namely a slow subsystem and a fast *** performance and robustness of the proposed new two-time scale IBVS controller for TLFM are verified by pursuing simulation *** is observed from the obtained results that the proposed controller effectively stabilises the oscillatory dynamics and tracks the reference trajectory accurately.

This paper examines the stability of the transition from the early decelerating stage of the Universe to the recent accelerating stage for the perfect fluid cosmological locally rotationally symmetric(LRS) Bianchi-I model in f(R, T) theory. To determine the solution of field equations, the idea of a timevarying deceleration parameter(DP) which yields a scale factor, for which the Universe attains a phase transition scenario and is consistent with recent cosmological observations, is used. The time-dependent DP yields a scale factor a=exp■, where β and k are respectively arbitrary and integration constants. By using the recent cons_traints(H_0 _= 73.8, and q_0 =-0.54) from Type Ia Supernova(SN Ia) data in combination with Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations(BAO) and Cosmic Microwave Background(CMB) observations(Giostri et al.), we obtain the values of β = 0.0062 and k = 0.000016 for which we have derived a cosmological model from the early decelerated phase to the present accelerating phase. By applying_ other r_ecent constraints(H_0 = 73.8, q_0 =-0.73) from SNe Ia Union data(Cunha), we obtain the values of β = 0.0036 and k = 0.000084 for which we have derived a cosmological model in the accelerating phase only. We have compared both models with experimental data. The stability of the background solution has been examined also for the metric perturbations alongside the properties of future singularities in a Universe ruled by dark energy with phantom type fluid. We demonstrate the presence of a stable fixed point with a condition of state ω <-1 and numerically affirm this is really a late-time attractor in the ghost overwhelmed Universe. Some physical and geometric properties of the model are found and examined.
