Single and Multi Coding Schemes for Efficient Wireless Sensor Networks

Due to its rapid growth, the introduced mangrove species Sonneratia apetala from Bangladesh has been widely used in mangrove restoration in southeastern China since 1985. As an indigenous mangrove species in Hainan, China, Sonneratia caseolaris was also planted in Guangdong Province for afforestation purposes. Both species have developed well in their new habitats, but their gas exchange and ecophysiological differences with the native mangrove species are not clear. In this study, leaf gas exchange, water and nitrogen use efficiencies of two Sonneratia species were compared with those of selected native mangrove species (Avicennia marina, Aegiceras corniculatum, Kandelia candel, and Excoecaria agallocha) in Hainan and Shenzhen. The introduced S. apetala maintained lower carbon assimilation rate (A) and photosynthetic nitrogen use efficiency (PNUE) than the indigenous S. caseolaris. In Shenzhen, the two introduced Sonneratia had comparable photosynthetic rates and water use efficiency (WUE) with the native mangrove species, except that PNUE in S. caseolaris was significantly higher than in the native mangrove species. The two Sonneratia species showed significant overlap in PNUE and long-term WUE (δ13C value). Photosynthetic parameters derived from leaf photosynthetic light-response curves and A-Ci curves also suggested lower carbon assimilation capacities for the introduced Sonneratia than for the native mangrove species in both study sites. The lower light compensation point (LCP) of two introduced Sonneratia in both study sites also indicated a better adaptation to a low light regime than the native mangrove species. The results of photosynthetic capacities indicated that the introduced mangrove species have little competitive advantage over local native mangrove species in their respective new habitats.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has become an appealing field of research because of its wide range of applications in different fields. In recent years, a significant amount of research has focused on improving network lifetime irrespective of the network throughput. This paper focuses on improving network throughput by using efficient coding techniques and different coding schemes without affecting the lifetime. It is shown that throughput increases with the increase of the BCH coding rate. Also, the use of multi coding is investigated. Different rates/codes are studied between sensor nodes and the network master (NM) and between the NM and the sink.

Validation of the Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) society recommendations for liver surgery: a prospective, observational study

Twenty-three recommendations were summarized by the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery(ERAS)society for liver *** aim was to validate the protocol especially with regard to adherence and the impact on ***:Using the ERAS Interactive Audit System(EIAS),ERAS items were evaluated in patients undergoing liver *** a period of 26 months,304 patients were prospectively enrolled in an observational study(DRKS00017229).Of those,51 patients(non-ERAS)were enrolled before and 253 patients(ERAS)after the implementation of the ERAS *** adherence and complications were compared between the two ***:Overall adherence increased from 45.2%in the non-ERAS group to 62.7%in the ERAS group(P0.05).Overall complications decreased from 41.2%(n=21)in the non-ERAS group to 26.5%(n=67)in the ERAS group(P=0.0423),which was mainly due to the reduction of grade 1-2 complications from 17.6%(n=9)to 7.6%(n=19)(P=0.0322).As for patients undergoing open surgery,implementation of ERAS lead to a reduction of overall complications in patients scheduled for minimally invasive liver surgery(MILS)(P=0.036).Conclusions:Implementation of the ERAS protocol for liver surgery according to the ERAS guidelines of the ERAS Society reduced Clavien-Dindo grade 1-2 complications particularly in patients who underwent *** ERAS guidelines are beneficial for the outcome,while adherence to the various items has not yet been satisfactorily defined.

In this paper, we study a new version from Dual-pivot Quicksort algorithm when we have some other number of pivots. Hence, we discuss the idea of picking pivots ?by random way and splitting the list simultaneously according to these. The modified version generalizes these results for multi process. We show that the average number of swaps done by Multi-pivot Quicksort process and we present a special case. Moreover, we obtain a relationship between the average number of swaps of Multi-pivot Quicksort and Stirling numbers of the first kind.

Agave salmiana ash and poultry eggshell powder as CaO sources were used for obtaining nanostructured hydro-xyapatite(HAP).The synthesis was carried out by the Green Chemistry Hydrothermal Biosynthesis at 180℃ with a pH of 5,by reacting CaO from Agave Salmiana ash and Eggshell powder,with dibasic caldium phosphate(CaH-PO_(4)+2H_(2)O)in an aqueous solution,with Aloe barbadensis *** product was characterized by X-ray dif-fraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM),and Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM).The size and shape of the hydroxyapatite particles changed dramati-cally in the presence of Aloe *** crystals of Hydroxyapatite were observed when Eggshell powder and Agave salmiana ash were used as raw materials in the presence of the Aloe barbadensis *** with shapes of ribbons and plates from 1 micrometers to 8 micrometers were observed when using the eggshell powder in the presence of Aloe bar badensis and,in the case of Agave salmiana ash in the presence of Aloe bar-badensis,crystals with shapes of quadra ngular prisms and hexagonal(polyhedra)with sizes from 2 micrometers to 20 micrometers were *** was therefore successfully biosynthesized by a green and sus-tainable method that reduces the environmental impact.

Chlamydial and gonococcal infections are recognized as two of the major causes of sexually transmissible human bacterial infection which may lead to infertility. In this cross sectional study, we aimed to determine the prevalence of Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis among Egyptian women using different microbiological methods. One hundred and fifty cervical swabs were collected, of which 100 were from infertile women. Culture and ELISA technique were used for screening of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis individually. In addition, PCR was used for all examined samples. For C. trachomatis, 3 cases were positive for antigen detection by ELISA. Moreover, in obtained results of PCR, DNA was detected in 4 samples, and three of them from infertile group. So based on PCR results, the sensitivity and specificity of ELISA were 75% and 100% respectively. Furthermore, 3 samples were positive for gonococcal infections by PCR, and two of them were taken from infertile women. Positive results of two samples were verified by culture. The estimated sensitivity and specificity of culture method were 66.7% and 100% respectively. Results of this study indicate that PCR is a valuable method for detection of gonococcal and chlamydial infection and it is suitable for the confirmation of ELISA results for C. trachomatis diagnosis. Culture method is less sensitive than PCR for detection of N. gonorrhoeae. The prevalence of such infections is higher among infertile women.

Rethinking cytokine function during hepatitis A and hepatitis C infections

In this paper,we discussed the ecology and economy of mangrove ecosystems in southeastern China where mangroves have been coexisting with people for several thousand *** occur naturally in southeastern China,mainly in Hainan,Guangxi, Guangdong,Hong Kong,and *** are 36 species of mangrove species in China,acconnting for 43% of the total number of species found in the *** China,mangroves are often used by local people as wood,food,medicine and aquaculture farms,in addition to their functions in protecting coastal lines,proving feeding grounds for many marine organisms and serving as natural filters for landward *** last few decades,the population boom and rapid economic development have greatly reduced mangrove areas. Research during last 30 years have not only improved our understanding of mangrove ecology but also educated publics and governmental officers about the importance of mangrove ecosystems. Since 1980s,great efforts have been made in China to protect mangrove forests and their ecological *** has already established mangrove ecosystems as high priority areas for improved environmental and living resource ***'s Biodiversity Conservation Action Plan issued in 1995 included its“Action Plan for Marine Biodiversity Protection in China”and called for increasing the area for mangrove conservation.“Marine Environmental Protection Law”promulgated in 1982 and revised in 1999 has granted mangrove protection of highest *** far,total of 11 natural mangrove conservation areas have been established,which occupy more than 20000 ha coastal *** recent years,replanting of mangroves by government authorities has taken place in areas where natural mangroves were destroyed but introducing fast-growing species from other countries may cause other ecological consequences. Multi-disciplinary research and more systematic protection strategies are urgently needed.

Hepatitis A virus (HAV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are both viruses with hepatotropic lifestyles. HAV induces an acute infection that results in the elimination of the virus by the host whereas HCV is typically able to establish a persistent infection that may result in cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The mechanisms responsible for this difference are unknown. However, given HAV and HCV are both non-cytophatic viruses, the observed symptoms and liver injury during the infections are the result of specific immune responses under the control of cytokines. Thus, the production of cytokines during hepatotropic viral infections may constitute a mechanism leading to different outcomes. Therefore, understanding the differences in the cytokine patterns induced in response to HAV and HCV is likely to provide important insights into the cytokine-mediated mechanisms underlying the long-term persistence of HCV, the broad spectrum of clinical manifestations induced by HAV and the resolution of HAV infection during the acute phase. Herein, we focus on discoveries that hold promise in identifying cytokines as therapeutic targets for the treatment of viral hepatitis.
