The capability of synthesized zeolite A(SZ)to immobilize Ag ions(Ag-SZ)and Ag nanoparticles(AgNp-SZ)were comparatively studied.A novel approach of in situ biosynthesized AgNP-incorporated synthesized zeolite A(AgNp-SZ)was synthesized at an optimum volume of 0.4mL of the Orthosiphon aristatus(***)leaves plant extract(5%)using an in situ *** comparison,Ag-Sz was produced by loading the synthesized zeolite with Ag *** synthesized materials were characterized for their morphologies and *** characterization analysesvalidate thathe biosynthesized AgNP(<100 nm)using *** leaves extract was incorporated into the zeolite *** antibacterial testing confirmed that these materials have antibacterial activity against Escherichia coliATCC11229 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC ***/MBC analysis demonstrated that in 0.9%saline solution,AgNP-SZ had higher antibacterial activity than *** in vitro cell viability and migration assays were further examined towards human skin fibroblast cells HSF *** show that the materials are not cytotoxicto HSF1184,and the biosynthesized AgNP-SZ promotes cell migration and proliferation higher than *** research proved that the biocompatible antibacterial wound healing agent of AgNP-SZ can be synthesized using an in situ approach where the reduction process of Ag ions in the zeolite Acan be performed using plant extract.

The preparation and behavior of powder stearin-based methyl ester sulfonates(MES)with the addition of builder as a glidant agent was *** is an anionic surfactant and its performance is equivalent to petroleum-based linear alkylbenzene sulfonates(LAS),the workhorses of the detergent *** the same time,zeolites or soda ash were the alternative builders for non-phosphate-based *** behavior of powder MES properties was measured in terms of morphology,particle size,cohesion,caking,and *** that,these palm stearin-based MES of carbon chain 16–18 with ratios of 98:2,80:20,and 60:40 in flakes were ground using a high shear mixer by 23,000 rpm to produce powder *** the particle size of MES powder can reduce the powder's cohesion,caking,and *** addition of zeolite or soda ash as a glidant in powdered MES can improve the caking *** high stearic in MES greatly influenced getting fine particle powders and required more glidant *** powder MES with excellent powder characteristics can perform well as a bio-based cleaning product.

Glycerol dehydration to acrolein over a series of supported silicotungstic acid catalysts(SiWx‐Al/Zry)was *** results showed that the final catalyst had high thermal stability,a large pore diameter,strong Lewis acidic sites,and a large specific surface area.X‐ray photoelectron survey spectra clearly showed peaks attributable to W(W4f=35.8eV),Al2O3(Al2p=74.9eV),and ZrO2(Zr3d=182.8eV).The highest acrolein selectivity achieved was87.3%at97%glycerol conversion over the SiW20‐Al/*** prepared catalysts were highly active and selective for acrolein formation even after40h because of the presence of high concentrations of Lewis acidic sites,which significantly reduced the amount of coke on the catalyst *** surface methodology optimization showed that87.7%acrolein selectivity at97.0%glycerol conversion could be obtained under the following optimal reaction conditions:0.5wt%catalyst,reaction temperature300°C,and feed glycerol concentration10wt%.Evaluation of a mass‐transfer‐limited regime showed the absence of internal and external diffusions over pellets of diameter dP<20μ*** results show that glycerol dehydration over a strong Lewis acid catalyst is a promising method for acrolein production.

The antibacterial activities,cytotoxicity,and wound healing of amine(3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES))-functionalised zeolite Y against normal human fibroblast cells were *** characterisation of unmodified and amine-functionalised zeolites Y (Z,ZA 0.04,ZA 0.4,and ZA 0.6) by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray powder diffraction,and energy dispersive X-ray analysis proved that the APTES molecules were grafted onto the zeolite Y surface without distorting its framework *** amine-functionalised zeolite Y samples possessed antibacterial activities against several ATCC bacteria that were correlated with the increased amount of APTES on the zeolite Y ***,when a higher concentration of APTES was grafted on the zeolite Y,higher cytotoxicity was observed against the fibroblast *** the ZA 0.6 sample (zeolite Y functionalised with 0.6 M of APTES) had higher antibacterial activity,it was cytotoxic to the ***,the selection of an antibacterial agent for human treatment purposes must also consider its cytotoxicity effect against human cells to ensure it is biocompatible.

BACKGROUND Despite negligible absorption of elemental mercury after acute ingestion,retention in the appendix with subsequent local and systemic complications is possible. We present a case of elemental mercury sequestration in the appendix,managed by laparoscopic *** SUMMARY A 57-year-old Caucasian female was found unconscious following application of long-lasting insulin detemir and ingestion of elemental mercury in a suicidal attempt. Diagnostic investigations revealed several radiopaque collections in the gastrointestinal(GI) tract and elevated mercury levels in the blood. Much of the ingested elemental mercury was eliminated from the GI tract with stools stimulated by several enemas. However, a significant amount of mercury remained sequestrated in the appendix despite all conservative ***, following deliberations by an interdisciplinary team of specialists,laparoscopic appendectomy was performed 29 d after the mercury ingestion. Infections caused by Strongyloides stercoralis(***) in human are generally asymptomatic,however in immunocompromised individual,hyperinfection may develop with dissemination of larvae to extra-intestinal *** diagnosis could be easily missed due to asymptomatic presentation and insufficient exposure towards the infection itself,which may lead to low index of suspicion as a *** this report,a case of a Malaysian male with underlying diabetes mellitus,hypertension,cerebrovascular accident,bullous pemphigus and syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion who initially complained of generalized body weakness and poor appetite without any history suggestive of sepsis is ***,he developed septicemic shock later,and *** larvae was incidentally found in the tracheal aspirate that was sent to look for acid fast *** of aggressive resuscitation,the patient succumbed due to pulmonary hemorrhage and acute respiratory distress *** was revealed that the current case has alarmed us via incidental finding of *** larvae in the tracheal aspirate,indicating that the importance of the disease should be emphasized in certain parts of the world and population respectively.

Litsea elliptica Blume has been traditionally used to treat headache,fever,and stomach ulcer,and has also been used as an insect *** acute and subacute toxicities of *** essential oil were evaluated orally by gavage in female Sprague-Dawley *** the acute toxicity study,*** essential oil was administered in doses from 500 to 4 000 mg/kg(single dose),and in the subacute toxicity test,the following doses were used:125,250,and 500 mg/kg,for 28 consecutive *** the acute toxicity study,*** essential oil caused dose-dependent adverse behaviours and *** median lethal dose value was 3 488.86 mg/kg and the acute non-observed-adversed-effect level value was found to be 500 mg/*** subacute toxicity study of *** essential oil did not reveal alterations in body weight,and food and water *** haematological and biochemical analyses did not show significant differences between control and treated groups in most of the parameters examined,except for the hemoglobin,mean cell hemoglobin concentration,mean cell volume,mean cell hemoglobin,serum albumin,and serum ***,these differences were still within the normal *** abnormalities or histopathological changes were observed in the liver,pancreatic islet of Langerhans,and renal glomerulous and tubular cells of all treated *** conclusion,*** essential oil can be classified in the U group,which is defined as a group unlikely to present an acute hazard according to World Health Organization(WHO) classification.

Joining Mg to Al is challenging because of the deterioration of mechanical properties caused by the formation of intermetallic compounds(IMCs) at the Mg/Al interface. This study aims to improve the mechanical properties of welded samples by preventing the fracture location at the Mg/Al interface. Friction stir welding was performed to join Mg to Al at different rotational and travel speeds. The microstructure of the welded samples showed the IMCs layers containing Al12Mg17(γ) and Al3Mg2(β) at the welding zone with a thickness(< 3.5 μm). Mechanical properties were mainly affected by the thickness of the IMCs, which was governed by welding parameters. The highest tensile strength was obtained at 600 r/min and 40 mm/min with a welding efficiency of 80%. The specimens could fracture along the boundary at the thermo-mechanically affected zone in the Mg side of the welded joint.

Dengue is a severe mosquito-borne viral infection causing half a million deaths annually. Dengue virus NS2B/NS3 protease is a validated target for anti-dengue drug design. A series of hitherto unreported 3,5-bis(arylidene)-4-piperidones analogues 4a4j were synthesized and screened in silico against DENV2 NS2B/NS3 protease to elucidate their binding mechanism and orientation around the active sites. Results were validated through an in vitro DENV2 NS2B/NS3 protease assay using a fluorogenic Boc-Gly-Arg-Arg-AMC substrate. Nitro derivatives of 3,5-bis(arylidene)-4-piperidones (4e and 4j) emerged as promising lead molecules for novel protease inhibitors with an IC50 of 15.22 and 16.23 µmol/L, respectively, compared to the standard, panduratin A, having IC50 of 57.28 µmol/L.
