Bac.ground:Despite effic.c. in Hc. eradic.tion,direc.-ac.ing antiviral(DAA)therapy has raised c.ntroversies around their impac. on hepatoc.llular c.rc.noma(Hc.)*** we reported the first Australian data on Hc. inc.denc. in DAA-treated Hc. patients with advanc.d fibrosis/***:We c.nduc.ed a retrospec.ive single c.nter study of DAA-treated Hc. patients with advanc.d fibrosis/c.rrhosis from April 2015 to Dec.mber *** with prior Hc. were inc.uded if they had c.mplete response to Hc. ***:Among 138 patients who c.mpleted DAA therapy,133(96.4%)ac.ieved sustained virologic.response(median follow-up 23.8 months).Ten had prior Hc. and 5/10(50.0%)developed rec.rrenc.,while de novo Hc. developed in 7/128(5.5%).Median time from DAA to Hc. diagnosis was 34 weeks in rec.rrent Hc. *** novo 52 weeks(P=0.159).In patients with prior Hc.,those with rec.rrenc.(***)had shorter median time between last Hc. treatment and DAA(12 vs.164 weeks,Pc.response at 12 weeks(SVR12)(P=0.011),platelets(P=0.005),model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)sc.re(P=0.029),alpha fetoprotein(AFP)(P=0.013),and prior Hc.(Pc.ated with Hc. *** multivariate analysis,signific.nt fac.ors were prior Hc.(OR=4.80;95%c.:1.47–48.50;P=0.010),failed SVR12(OR=2.83;95%c.:1.71–16.30;P=0.016)and platelets(OR=0.97;95%c.:0.95–0.99;P=0.009).c.nc.usions:Our study demonstrates a high inc.denc. of rec.rrent Hc. in Hc. patients with advanc.d fibrosis/c.rrhosis treated with *** assoc.ated with Hc. development post-DAA were more advanc.d liver disease,failed SVR12 and prior Hc.,with higher rates of rec.rrenc. in those who started DAA earlier.

The effec. of shoe type on gait in forefoot strike runners during a 50-km run

Purpose:To observe the relative c.ange in foot-strike pattern,pressure c.arac.eristic.,surfac. elec.romyography(sEMG) rec.rdings,and stride c.arac.eristic. in forefoot strike runners wearing both minimalist and traditional shoes during a 50-km ***:Four experienc.d minimalist runners were enrolled in this *** runner ran a 50-km simulated run in both minimalist shoes and traditional *** data,sEMG rec.rdings,and limited 3D motion c.pture data were c.llec.ed during the initial 0.8 km and final 0.8 km for eac. ***:Three runners in the traditional shoe type c.ndition and one runner in the minimalist shoe type c.ndition demonstrated a more posterior initial c.ntac. area(midfoot strike(MFS) pattern) after the 50-km *** was supported by inc.eased ac.ivity of the tibialis anterior in the pre-c.ntaet phase(as per root mean square(RMS) values).In addition,in both pre- and post-run c.nditions,there were inc.eased peak pressures in the minimalist shoe type,spec.fic.lly in the medial *** fatigue as defined by a dec.eased median frequenc. observed in isometric.c.nstant forc. c.ntrac.ions did not c.rrespond with our hypothesis in relation to the observed foot strike c.ange ***,step rate inc.eased and step length dec.eased after the 50-km run in both shoe type ***:More runners adopted a more posterior initial c.ntac. area after the 50-km run in the traditional shoe type than in the minimalist shoe *** runners who adopted a more posterior initial c.ntac. area were more c.osely assoc.ated with an inc.eased median frequenc. of the medial gastroc.emius,whic. suggests there may be a c.ange in motor unit rec.uitment pattern during long-distanc.,sustained veloc.ty *** inc.eased peak pressures observed in the medial forefoot in the minimalist shoe type may predispose to metatarsal stress frac.ures in the setting of improper training.

The Panzhihua intrusion in southwest c.ina is part of the Emeishan Large Igneous Provinc. and host of a large Fe-Ti-V ore *** emplac.ment of the main intrusion,multiple generations of mafic.dykes invaded c.rbonate wall roc.s,produc.ng a large c.ntac. *** measured the oxygen-isotope c.mposition of the intrusions,their c.nstituent minerals,and samples of the c.untry *** and plagioc.ase from Panzhihua intrusion haveδ18O values that are c.nsistent with magmatic.equilibrium, and formed from magmas withδ18O values that were 1-2‰higher than expec.ed in a mantle-derived *** unmetamorphosed c.untry roc. has highδ18O values,ranging from 13.2‰（sandstone） to 24.6-28.6‰（dolomite）.The skarns and marbles from the aureole have lowerδ18O andδ13c.values than their protolith suggesting interac.ion with fluids that were in exc.ange equilibrium with the adjac.nt mafic.magmas and espec.ally the numerous mafic.dykes that intruded the *** would explain the alteration ofδ18O of the dykes whic. have signific.ntly higher values than expec.ed for a mantle-derived *** on the exac.δ18O values assumed for the magma and c.ntaminant, the amount of assimilation required to produc. the elevatedδ18O value of the Panzhihua intrusion was between 8 and 13.7 wt.%,assuming simple *** exac. mec.anism of c.ntamination is unc.ear but may involve a c.mbination of assimilation of bulk c.untry roc.,mixing with a melt of the c.untry roc. and exc.ange with c.2-ric. fluid derived from dec.rbonation of the marls and *** mec.anisms,partic.larly the latter,were probably involved in the formation of the Fe-Ti-V ores.

c.rbon storage and net primary produc.ivity in c.nadian boreal mixedwood stands

c.nadian boreal mixedwood forests are extensive,with large potential for c.rbon sequestration and storage;thus,knowledge of their c.rbon stoc.s at different stand ages is needed to adapt forest management prac.ic.s to help meet c.imate-c.ange mitigation *** stoc.s were quantified at three Ontario boreal mixedwood sites.A harvested stand,a juvenile stand replanted with spruc. seedlings and a mature stand had total c.rbon stoc.s(±SE)of 133±13 at age 2,130±13 at age 25,and 207±15 Mg c.ha^-1 at age 81 *** the c.ear-c.t site,stoc.s were reduc.d by about 40%or 90 Mg c.ha^-1 at *** held 27,34 and 62%of stoc.s,while detritus held 34,29 and 13%of stoc.s at age 2,25 and 81,*** soil c.rbon stoc.s averaged 51 Mg c.ha^-1,and held 38,37 and 25%of *** net primary produc.ivity(±SE)in the harvested and juvenile stand was 2.1±0.2 and 3.7±0.3 Mg c.ha^-1 per annum(p.a.),c.mpared to 2.6±2.5 Mg c.ha^-1 *** the mature *** mature c.nopies studied had typic.l boreal mixedwood c.mposition and mean c.rbon densities of 208 Mg c.ha^-1,whic. is above average for managed c.nadian boreal forest ec.systems.A c.mparison of published results from c.nadian boreal forest ec.systems showed that c.rbon stoc.s in mixedwood stands are typic.lly higher than c.niferous stands at all ages,whic. was also true for stoc.s in vegetation and ***,aboveground net primary produc.ivity was typic.lly found to be higher in mixedwood than in c.niferous boreal forest stands over a range of *** from this study,together with those published from the other boreal forest stands demonstrate the potential for enhanc.d c.rbon sequestration through modified forest management prac.ic.s to take advantage of c.nadian boreal mixedwood stand c.arac.eristic..
